Hi everyone,

I'm new to posting on mumsnet, but have spent plenty of time reading through others' conversations for reassurance when anxious, and this seems like such a friendly place!

I've just found out I'm pregnant again after the miscarriage of my first at 11 weeks in August. I would love to connect with other people in a similar situation.

I'm feeling relatively ok, i.e. not totally panicked all the time, about this one, but I know it's going to be hard. I really find it hard to believe sometimes that this could work out.

Please send a comment if you're in a similar situation and would like to share/receive some support!

That's good you got the appointment through and 🤞 they do a scan. Is this your booking appointment or a different one?

Anyone got the bloated stomach yet? Feeling a bit self conscious and that it is noticeable in my clothes. Kiwi helps apparently so just had one 😂

Brokenpancreas94 · 25/05/2023 16:25

@tulipsunday booking appointment isn't till 27th June. This is with antenatal/diabetes consultant, and hopefully an early scan as well.
I keep getting bloated, yes - still gassy too 😂 ooo I love kiwi 🥝

suz2285 · 25/05/2023 18:12

@tulipsunday omg the last 2 days I look so bloated it's actually uncomfortable. My boobs are huge. Stomach is so huge, and I feel so sick in the evenings! I took my anti nausea tablet earlier today as I thought maybe it was wearing off before I took the second one but nope I feel almost worse tonight. I do not want to move or eat or anything 🙈

Brokenpancreas94 · 25/05/2023 18:41

@suz2285 the bloating is horrible isn't it!! What antisickness tablet do you have? X

suz2285 · 25/05/2023 18:47

@Brokenpancreas94 cyclizine... seems to be the first one they recommend, though some places seem to want you to try everything else first

I also have ginger sweeties and I've just ordered the wrist bands! Tbh I feel ok during the day but the evenings, jeez! It's getting worse too, I come home and basically want to go to bed and not get up

I've sent hubby to make dinner tonight (he's pretty much incapable of cooking) so there's baked potato in the micro currently and got him to bring me my ginger sweeties and I think that has actually helped! 🤞 I'm not sure why but the cyclizine doesn't seem to do much for the evening nausea, not sure if that's the reason I'm managing to function during the day though!

Brokenpancreas94 · 25/05/2023 18:54

@suz2285 cyclizine never worked for me for some reason so they put me on ondansetron, that worked wonders but it gave me headaches!

I made my partner cook today too, very rare for him to do it too!

Sipping sugar free lemonade helped me too!

suz2285 · 25/05/2023 18:56

@Brokenpancreas94 yeah I really hope this nausea settles down, I'm feeling pretty miserable 🙈

Brokenpancreas94 · 25/05/2023 21:06

@suz2285 I hope it does for you too xx

tulipsunday · 26/05/2023 09:48

Sorry to hear about struggles with nausea. Scan went great measuring four days ahead so that's a novelty for me so 7+4. They booked my 12wk scan for 27th June just hope I make it to then 🤞

Brokenpancreas94 · 26/05/2023 09:54

@tulipsunday so glad everything is looking well for you! Fingers crossed it stays that way!
Did you ask about hip pain?

tulipsunday · 26/05/2023 11:15

Thank you. Yes she said will just be hormones so yeh not sure if there is much we can do 😬 woke up early again as just felt uncomfortably achey not much fun xx

suz2285 · 26/05/2023 11:35

@tulipsunday suppose it's good it's nothing to worry about 🤞 and glad the scan went well!

I booked in my midwife appointment this morning it's a few days after my 8 weeks scan so 🤞🤞 I am so bloated the last few days I feel massive! And this is the first kinda warm day we've had here so I've brought out the summer clothes and now I'm grumpy cos I feel obese and it's only about to get worse 🙈🙈 I've not managed to be doing any regular exercise cos I've been feeling so yucky in the evenings! Walking is about all I'm managing!

Brokenpancreas94 · 26/05/2023 11:48

@tulipsunday glad it is just hormones then, as uncomfortable as it is! I seem to wake up fine not aching and then it just gets worse as the day goes on!

@suz2285 I hate this heat, I am ginger and fair skinned it just doesn't agree with me haha! And I do not have the body for lovely summer clothes either haha!
Feeling nauseous and tired today! I am 6 weeks today xx

ChloeN · 26/05/2023 12:08

@tulipsunday yay so pleased your scan was all good🥰

suz2285 · 26/05/2023 12:46

@Brokenpancreas94 6 weeks here today too, look about 6 months with the bloat 😂

I had lost so much weight in 2019-2020 but it's slowly crept back on again... not ideal at all!

Brokenpancreas94 · 26/05/2023 13:00

@suz2285 I've lost over a stone but I'm still a bit overweight but I'm also 5ft 11 so apparently I carry it well 🙄.
Nausea is defo in full Swing today, it's like I've hit 6 weeks and bam!! 😂😩

suz2285 · 26/05/2023 13:20

@Brokenpancreas94 uh oh, nausea is the worst... mine started at 5 weeks and I hope it'll just bugger off or at least not get any worse cos I have to be able to work 😂

Brokenpancreas94 · 26/05/2023 13:27

@suz2285 turns out my blood sugar is low, don't usually get nausea when having hypoglycaemia...makes it hard to treat, as I have to force myself to eat/drink something. Fun and games 😂

What do you do for work if you don't mind me asking? X

suz2285 · 26/05/2023 13:54

@Brokenpancreas94 I work for a university running exams... it's quite full on at this time of year and stressful... you?

Brokenpancreas94 · 26/05/2023 13:57

@suz2285 oh wow that sounds very busy! Hopefully the nausea doesn't get you any worse then!

I'm a qualified teaching assistant but I'm not working at the moment, I'm a carer for my daughter who has autism. I feel lazy at times for not working, but it is full on with her, she doesn't sleep at nights, so whilst she is at school it's kind of a chance to try and catch up on housework and sleep! But I wish I could work, maybe/hopefully one day in the future!

suz2285 · 26/05/2023 14:04

@Brokenpancreas94 aw it sounds like you've got enough to do! I honestly would like to reduce my hours if this baby sticks around, but I'd probably need to move jobs to do it, I did apply for an internal role last week but I don't really know many details about it so we'll see

They really need more than one person in my role during this busy time it's far too much for one person! We're through the big exams but still another 3-4 to do and some of them are like week 9-10 for me so I really don't want to be useless by then 😂

Honestly I'd enjoy being at home while you can.. I wouldn't work if we didn't need the money! It's so nice to spend time with them when they're young as well

Brokenpancreas94 · 26/05/2023 14:28

@suz2285 ah yes, I remember you saying about the internal job! When do you find out if you're successful? Hopefully your nausea doesn't get worse then, if it does then defo ask for ondansetron!

tulipsunday · 26/05/2023 15:47

Thank you @suz2285 and @ChloeN ❤️

@Brokenpancreas94 yes you must prioritise rest in the day if you can as up at night. I have an adult sibling with autism so understand some of the challenges.

@suz2285 sounds an interesting job and yes must be busy at this time. I also work in education (dyslexia assessments) Autumn tends to be my busiest time and going to be pretty pregnant by then hopefully! Xx

Brokenpancreas94 · 27/05/2023 22:25

What a day...so nausea has been in full swing since yesterday! Had a nice day at the park with daughter, niece and sister in law....which ended with a trip to a&e with daughter who got hit in the head with a boomerang and sliced her eyelid open, making my already weak stomach weaker 🥲
Think tomorrow will just be a day to relax hopefully 😂🙈

Brokenpancreas94 · 27/05/2023 22:28

Also forgot to say anyone get weird pains when moving certain ways? Sat up earlier after laying with daughter and stomach hurt alot...was more muscles, around where my C-section scar is, but dont get it so much but has been more so since being pregnant if that makes any sense???
