Pregant after miscarriage - support thread

Hi everyone,

I'm new to posting on mumsnet, but have spent plenty of time reading through others' conversations for reassurance when anxious, and this seems like such a friendly place!

I've just found out I'm pregnant again after the miscarriage of my first at 11 weeks in August. I would love to connect with other people in a similar situation.

I'm feeling relatively ok, i.e. not totally panicked all the time, about this one, but I know it's going to be hard. I really find it hard to believe sometimes that this could work out.

Please send a comment if you're in a similar situation and would like to share/receive some support!

@Stressedannni i am so sorry, what a shock for you, i hope all goes ok over next few weeks x

Brokenpancreas94 · 23/05/2023 11:19

@Stressedannni so sorry 😞 xxx

WitcheryDivine · 24/05/2023 16:43

I'm so sorry for your loss @Stressedannni. I hope your body and mind gain strength and recover as quickly as they can xxx

I've been staying off the thread as had very worrying symptoms but have just had good (for now) news at the scan. Looking the right size for 8 weeks. Praying it hangs in there.

Brokenpancreas94 · 24/05/2023 18:20

@WitcheryDivine glad things are looking okay for you! I did another test yesterday to see if my hcg levels are still rising...very strong lines now within a minute...cannot wait any longer for my scan, I just want to know it's all going to be okay xx

Brokenpancreas94 · 24/05/2023 18:52

Don't know whether it's worth contacting my GP about my hip/back pain probably nothing they can do though! Just so uncomfortable all the time 😩

WhiteHorse92 · 24/05/2023 19:26

I'm 5+5 today, this is when I started miscarrying last month. Decided to do a FRER because I couldn't help myself and just wanted some reassurance. I know it's no guarantee everything will be okay but got a 'dye stealer' so feel a bit relieved things are hopefully in the right direction 🤞

WitcheryDivine · 24/05/2023 19:36

Certainly no harm is asking, they can at least advise you re painkillers and maybe other support/techniques to deal?

tulipsunday · 24/05/2023 20:26

@Brokenpancreas94 same. Back and hips still uncomfortable. Got first scan Friday will mention it then and let you know if they say anything.

Glad things are looking good for you both @WitcheryDivine and @WhiteHorse92

Brokenpancreas94 · 24/05/2023 20:46

@WhiteHorse92 fingers crossed for you xxx

@WitcheryDivine might do an econsult with them tomorrow maybe I don't know, I'm not even entirely sure if it's pregnancy related...well it is but made worse by hormones

@tulipsunday thank you! And hope your scan goes well! It's just so uncomfortable and constantly aching xxx

ChloeN · 24/05/2023 20:59

@tulipsunday hope your scan goes well lovely xx

tulipsunday · 25/05/2023 09:23

@Brokenpancreas94 my ankles are now achey as well which weirdly I used to get when on my period so again maybe all hormonal and linked 🙈

Absolutely bricking it for tomorrow. Keep trying to reassure myself that I feel pregnant and have had no bleeding so likely to be ok but you just never know do you 😬 feels like only the first hurdle and so many to come

suz2285 · 25/05/2023 11:13

@tulipsunday hope all goes ok, totally know the feeling it's a stressful time 🤞

@Brokenpancreas94 quite likely is the hormones they make everything relax, my back and hips are achy too...

@WhiteHorse92 glad everything seems to be going well

I'm 6 weeks tomorrow, put in the econsult to refer to the midwife now, I've not got a scan booked in until 8 weeks but it's going to be too late to book in the midwife after that so I just have to do it... I did want to make sure all was ok before then incase I had to cancel it again, but let's just hope all is ok

My 'morning' sickness is so bad in the evenings, just feel absolutely yuck after work and all night, but least I'm managing to be working during the day as long as I keep nibbling constantly! My boobs are starting to ache now and are def bigger, and I'm so bloated so that's all fun 😂

Brokenpancreas94 · 25/05/2023 11:19

@suz2285 I think it's because I have such a low pain threshold 😂🙈 im terrible!

@tulipsunday hopefully everything is all okay for you ❤️
Hopefully all our aches and pains are good signs! Xxx

Brokenpancreas94 · 25/05/2023 11:20

Another thing to add, I know it's all probably hormones but is anyone else feeling a bit down? I don't know why!

suz2285 · 25/05/2023 11:24

@Brokenpancreas94 totally normal to hve up and down feelings I think! I'm ok just now but I'm fed up feeling yucky in the evenings, I have zero desire to be doing anything sexy with the husband either! 😂😂

Brokenpancreas94 · 25/05/2023 11:30

@suz2285 I thought so! I don't want to have to have my antidepressants increased! Yep I have no desire either, much to his desire 😂🙈

tulipsunday · 25/05/2023 11:52

Oh god yeh me too. Is enough just getting through the day come bed time I just want to sleep 😂

Brokenpancreas94 · 25/05/2023 12:47

Yeah me too! The nausea is coming and going aswell! Feel like I want to eat everything sometimes but can't because of my diabetes 😂🙈

Brokenpancreas94 · 25/05/2023 13:19

Just had the letter through for my appointment on 14th...nothing about a scan though like they said, so unless it's all in one 🤷‍♀️
