Hi everyone,

I'm new to posting on mumsnet, but have spent plenty of time reading through others' conversations for reassurance when anxious, and this seems like such a friendly place!

I've just found out I'm pregnant again after the miscarriage of my first at 11 weeks in August. I would love to connect with other people in a similar situation.

I'm feeling relatively ok, i.e. not totally panicked all the time, about this one, but I know it's going to be hard. I really find it hard to believe sometimes that this could work out.

Please send a comment if you're in a similar situation and would like to share/receive some support!

@WitcheryDivine try not to worry too much, every pregnancy is different for everyone...in my first pregnancy with my daughter I was fine, my last pregnancy I had terrible nausea and no back/hip pain with either of them which is bizarre as with my first it was only a year after having my spine operation.
I know it's easier said than done though, and I'm being hypocritical because I feel the same at times.
I highly doubt the EPU would think you are a "loon" though!

@suz2285 we really are 😂 I've just bought a hot water bottle for my back/hip was a mission as it's all summer stuff now 😂🤦🏼‍♀️

@WhiteHorse92 I think I recognise your name from the miscarriage thread? Wishing you luck! And welcome to the thread xx

Stressedannni · 21/05/2023 18:59

@WitcheryDivine I know how you feel. This pregnancy has been so different. Had a scan last Friday and I'm 10 weeks. Got my 12 week scan on Tuesday. And I'm on edge feels like all my symptoms have gone 😭

WitcheryDivine · 21/05/2023 20:19

Oh @Stressedannni sending you the very best for your scan xx

Stressedannni · 21/05/2023 20:33

Thank you. It's such a horrible waiting game. 😬

tulipsunday · 21/05/2023 22:32

@Stressedannni think it is really normal for symptoms to go the. as placenta takes over. All the best for Tues xx

SMG1992 · 22/05/2023 08:08

I have another (my 3rd) private scan booked for this evening as I should be 10+1. My MMC stopped growing at 9 weeks previously so it feels like a big milestone but I'm feeling very anxious today- I already feel on the verge of crying. I hope everything is ok and would love to see a healthy 10 week scan image... all of the previous ones have looked like little beans but I think this one should actually resemble a baby a bit more.

tulipsunday · 22/05/2023 10:08

@SMG1992 really hope it goes well for you. I am sure it will xx

ChloeN · 22/05/2023 10:12

@SMG1992 good luck this evening I’ll be thinking of you🥰 I had my scan at 10+4 and it was such a clear photo and a proper little baby xx

Brokenpancreas94 · 22/05/2023 11:47

Good luck @SMG1992 xx

Stressedannni · 22/05/2023 11:54

Fingers 🤞 for you

Beapo · 22/05/2023 11:56

Got everything crossed for you @SMG1992 ❤️🤞

38andtrying · 22/05/2023 11:58

@SMG1992 all the best of luck, todays scan will really give you confidence if all is ok, which im sure it will be x

SMG1992 · 22/05/2023 12:16

Thank you all ladies - only 5 and a half hours to wait... today is dragging!

Brokenpancreas94 · 22/05/2023 14:28

Hi all, just had diabetes consultant, have a scan around 14th June, I'll be around 9 weeks then. Apparently antenatal will need a confirmation scan...so so nervous!

Stressedannni · 22/05/2023 14:36

@SMG1992 I know the feeling mine is tomorrow. Never had a private scan though.

SMG1992 · 22/05/2023 14:48

@Stressedannni good luck tomorrow. I've had 2 private scans before with 2 different sonographers and they were quite different with how thorough they were so I think it depends who you get.
I'm going to a different place for mine today so I'm hoping it's as good as the previous one.

Stressedannni · 22/05/2023 16:35

Yeah I always get worried how trained the people are who are doing the scan!

suz2285 · 22/05/2023 16:41

@SMG1992 I also booked a different place this time around, the last place didn't do tv scans and it's so early so it was so hard to see from outside and just created way more confusion, though it was my first sign something was wrong... 😩 this other place seems better but I'm not booked in for another couple of weeks

I think the sonographers are all mostly trained in nhs and some do private during their evenings or weekends or days off, but it just depends who you get same as everywhere else, how good they are and how supportive etc etc

Let us know how you get on all those with scans coming up!!

tulipsunday · 22/05/2023 18:11

Eugh lower stomach pressure and cramps to add to lower back and hip pain. Actually thankful for off and on nausea and tender boobs as the cramping aches keep making me fear the worst.

Brokenpancreas94 · 22/05/2023 18:37

@tulipsunday I know what you mean, I'm the same 😩dreading this first scan, but also want it to hurry up and arrive already!

SMG1992 · 22/05/2023 19:36

Scan went well, I’m feeling a lot more relieved
2 weeks tomorrow until my 12 week scan

tulipsunday · 22/05/2023 19:37

Literally feel like an old woman with all these aches 😂

ChloeN · 22/05/2023 19:47

@SMG1992 fab news glad it all went well xx

@tulipsunday are you hobbling around😂

Brokenpancreas94 · 22/05/2023 20:40

@SMG1992 glad the scan went well xx

Stressedannni · 23/05/2023 06:28
