Hi everyone,

I'm new to posting on mumsnet, but have spent plenty of time reading through others' conversations for reassurance when anxious, and this seems like such a friendly place!

I've just found out I'm pregnant again after the miscarriage of my first at 11 weeks in August. I would love to connect with other people in a similar situation.

I'm feeling relatively ok, i.e. not totally panicked all the time, about this one, but I know it's going to be hard. I really find it hard to believe sometimes that this could work out.

Please send a comment if you're in a similar situation and would like to share/receive some support!

@tulipsunday so anxious! I have done so many tests! 🤦🏼‍♀️ I'm feeling nauseous today too! Hope you're doing okay xx

TTCxox · 16/05/2023 09:41

Hi everyone . Hope you’re all well. I’m 5 weeks 3 days and already feeling a bit nauseous and weak. (Currently lying in my bed and my appraisal with my manager is in 15min 🙈) . My digestive system is not the best for me at the moment. I usually go once a day but I’m going 2-3 times a day , I have a lot of bloating, it sounds like food isn’t being digested properly as I can hear the swishing of water in my tummy. Has anyone else had this 🥴I wonder what causes it so early on. I’m meant to put my progesterone pessaries up rectum this morning but I don’t think I can do this right now!

Morning All,
So nice to see the pregnancies post MC.
I'm currently 9+2 and have had 2 scans and seen heartbeat and everything looks good.
I had a MMC in January where at my 12 week scan they couldn't find the heartbeat and said it looked like the baby stopped growing at 9 weeks.

I'm so scared this week as this would have been the time it happened. I have another private scan booked for Monday (will be 10+1) before my NHS scan at 12ish weeks.
I'm just a bit panicked at the moment and wanted to get it out, I think I'm scaring the ladies on the due date thread and I don't want people to worry about MMCs. I didn't even realise it was a thing before it happened to me. I just want the next 3 weeks to be over so I can hopefully start to feel excited about the pregnancy, at the moment I'm just so anxious!

Sorry for the rant ladies!

TTCxox · 16/05/2023 12:37

Hey @SMG1992 i totally know how you feel. I had 2x MMC at 10 weeks . I think as long as they have detected a heartbeat in your scan your chances of miscarriage drops considerably. I haven’t had reassurance scans previously before and I’m waiting for my 7 week scan and very worried for that as obviously at those times I didn’t show any signs of miscarriage until much later. Hope everything will be ok for you 🙏🏼

ChloeN · 16/05/2023 12:38

@TTCxox i had the opposite problem, I had no idea pregancy could mess you up in that department so much 🤣

@SMG1992 Totally get how you feel, I think getting to the time it happened before is so hard because you’ve just got to wait and hope! 2 good scans sounds very reassuring though! Hope it all goes well monday xx

Brokenpancreas94 · 16/05/2023 12:53

@TTCxox I've been bloating a lot too and I'm only 4+3 the gas as well 🙈😂xx

SMG1992 · 16/05/2023 13:22

@TTCxox Do you have your 7 week scan booked?
I'll have had 3 scans before my 12 week scan, my DH is being so good about it though as he knows it's what I need for reassurance.

@ChloeN Thank you! Monday feels like forever away at the moment though! I wish I could have got in at the weekend!

TTCxox · 16/05/2023 13:44

@SMG1992 yes got it booked for 31st May. 🤞🏼 then another one at 9 weeks then at 12 weeks. I think after that I’d have to pay privately every 3-5 or so weeks as I can’t not have a scan for so long after my experiences

@Brokenpancreas94 @ChloeN i said I’d never complain if I’d get morning sickness but I’m not enjoying the digestive problems 😅

SMG1992 · 16/05/2023 13:50

Fingers crossed for you for 31st May!
My husband and I have already discussed paying for a 16 week scan when we get there, I can't wait 2 months between a 12 week and 20 week scan!

ChloeN · 16/05/2023 15:30

@TTCxox @SMG1992 I feel the same with scans, I thought I was done after my 28 week one but think I’ll book one more for between 34-36!

SMG1992 · 16/05/2023 15:42

@ChloeN Do you find it more reassuring that you can feel the baby moving?
I'm really hoping I'll relax after the 1st trimester but I'm just not sure if I can.

Brokenpancreas94 · 16/05/2023 15:47

@TTCxox I've just picked up my prescription for the 5mg folic acid as well and my mmc pregnancy they made my nausea so much worse, so I didn't end up taking them everyday, but will force myself to take them this time round!

I've got ages until I have a scan, don't have any booked yet though xx

Brokenpancreas94 · 16/05/2023 16:12

Midwife just called me booking appointment is 27th June...feels forever away

ChloeN · 16/05/2023 16:50

@SMG1992 Yes most of the time but I’m so obsessive about movements, I have to record them all on an app so I can look back and reassure myself! I have periods where I’m really relaxed and then I get myself worked up again but I do think I’m a bit of a worrier in all situations, I always thought I wasn’t anxious but turns out I am🤣

tulipsunday · 16/05/2023 18:47

Got the bloating too. @SMG1992 yes I know what you mean about trying not to worry people. I posted trying to be supportive to someone who had a had a MMC but then realised saying I had had two miscarriages probably wasn't reassuring 😂

Current milestone is to get to Friday with nothing ominous then will be 6 weeks.

@Brokenpancreas94 I'm actually hoping my booking in appointment isn't for a while as don't want to have to go through all of my history and blood tests etc until I know that the pregnancy is likely to be viable.

Brokenpancreas94 · 16/05/2023 18:54

@tulipsunday I wanted to be seen earlier but guess it's only been 1 miscarriage that I've had so they won't think anything of it.
Although, on Monday I have an appointment with my diabetes consultant, so things will probably start moving then! Well I hope! Xx

tulipsunday · 16/05/2023 19:32

That's good you have got that booked in already @Brokenpancreas94 hope it goes well x

Brokenpancreas94 · 16/05/2023 19:36

@tulipsunday the diabetes one has been booked for a couple of months now, just glad the appointment is so close to me finding out that I am pregnant xx

TunnocksTCake · 17/05/2023 07:37

Morning ladies! I took the plunge yesterday and have private scan booked for 8 weeks, on Thurs 1st June then booking in appt the following Tuesday so glad I'll have a definite answer before booking in. Also going on holiday on 11th June so wanted to have a definitive answer before we go. Now to play the waiting game...!
I think with my DD I had a scan pretty much every 10 days so im doing quite well to keep calm by those standards!

@tulipsunday I'm 6 weeks tomorrow and also counting down too. Then I will be past the point of all my other early mcs.

Smileyface32 · 17/05/2023 08:44

I’m glad I’m not the only one with getting scans. I went at 8 weeks and then yesterday at 11 weeks. I had a little panic yesterday as my bp was really high and I was worried about the impact it would have on the baby. All I needed to see was baby and it’s little heart beating

Stressedannni · 17/05/2023 10:39

Hi all, having my first midwife on Friday. So nervous! I've asked for a different midwife this time. I couldn't face having the same on as my last baby who died.

ChloeN · 17/05/2023 11:59

@Stressedannni oh that’s really hard that you’ve been before😢 I never made it to the midwife for my loss, I found out the baby died the day before so my boyfriend phoned and cancelled it, I’m glad it worked out that way really it made it much easier to go this time xx

allgoodthings84 · 17/05/2023 12:48

@Stressedannni I totally get why you want to see a different midwife. It was hard enough cancelling mine after the miscarriages

How is everyone doing?

I have a 4D scan booked for Sunday when I’ll be 26+1 weeks. I have an anterior placenta so if I leave it too late I won’t see much. I still get scared before scans and I feel her move. I don’t think it will completely go away until she’s here. I still struggle to believe in 3 months I’ll have my baby here (planned c section so coming a week early).

Stressedannni · 17/05/2023 13:27

Thanks everyone. Yes mine was 17 weeks so it was really hard. I have had c-sections so it was a lovely calm atmosphere 😁. Just remember to take all the painkillers and demand stronger ones! Yes I've delayed booking any stuff out of sheer fear!

Brokenpancreas94 · 17/05/2023 13:45

Hi everyone hope you're all doing okay! I'm so gassy today!! 🤢😂
Had some discharge again today stringy looking like snot kind of with a tinge of brown....so paranoid about everything! Xx
