Hi everyone,

I'm new to posting on mumsnet, but have spent plenty of time reading through others' conversations for reassurance when anxious, and this seems like such a friendly place!

I've just found out I'm pregnant again after the miscarriage of my first at 11 weeks in August. I would love to connect with other people in a similar situation.

I'm feeling relatively ok, i.e. not totally panicked all the time, about this one, but I know it's going to be hard. I really find it hard to believe sometimes that this could work out.

Please send a comment if you're in a similar situation and would like to share/receive some support!

@Nervousbuthopeful how exciting!! When is your due date again? You'll not find it coming in the last trimester flies!! 😍

Still no BFP here but it's only my 2 cycle trying again since my Mc in December so I'm feeling positive! 🤞🏻

ChloeN · 23/04/2023 15:02

@Nervousbuthopeful ahh that’s so exciting🤩🤩 I’m 26 weeks this week, so close to the 3rd trimester too💃🏻

tulipsunday · 05/05/2023 07:20

tulipsunday · 05/05/2023 08:59

Wow that's so exciting! When are you due? @ChloeN

ChloeN · 05/05/2023 12:04

@tulipsunday 2nd august☺️ are you due in 2024? Xx

tulipsunday · 05/05/2023 13:32

Aw lovely! Summer baby ☀️ Yep 12th Jan so hopefully can get through xmas before he/she arrives. Hard as only known a few days and already feeling excited but I guess might as well try and feel positive as the outcome is out of my hands.

Nervousbuthopeful · 05/05/2023 14:09

@Daniki —so glad you’re feeling positive—that’s wonderful! Sending all the good wishes your way. I’m due July 13, and go on mat leave June 19… I can’t wait!!

@ChloeN That’s so exciting that you’re almost third trimester, too! Is everything going well?

@tulipsunday Amazing news!!! Congrats!

@tulipsunday I definitely felt excited as soon as I found out, I was really worried I’d just feel anxious but I was over the moon! Are you getting any epu scans this time?

@Nervousbuthopeful all going well so far!☺️ I’ve got a scan this weekend so I’m really looking forward to seeing the baby again! Bet you’re so excited for maternity leave, I’m going off a similar time to you and I can’t wait 🤣 how are you getting on? X

tulipsunday · 05/05/2023 18:28

@Nervousbuthopeful aw wow not long to go then - do you know what you are having?

@ChloeN yes the EPU have booked me in for a scan in exactly three weeks. They are such angels there I am very grateful that at least I won't go any further than that without knowing how things are looking.

ChloeN · 05/05/2023 18:34

@tulipsunday ah that’s good! I think sometimes you need something booked in to get your through the first few weeks!

tulipsunday · 05/05/2023 21:45

Yeh definitely @ChloeN am away for a week in between with my husband's family so hopefully that will speed things up but does mean we will probably have to tell them as it will be so obvious when I am not drinking 😬

TunnocksTCake · 06/05/2023 11:56

Hi can I join please? I'm pregnant with my second, 14dpo (period due date) today and have been getting stronger lines each day, which helps for about 1 hour 😅
I had a mmc with my first ever pregnancy then another 3 early losses before falling with DD. Had another early loss 2 months ago and now pregnant again.
I'm freaking out a bit today about lessening symptoms, every single one of my pregnancies has come with boob pain or enlargement or something and they feel really normal this time around... if a tiny bit bigger. Not feeling as sick or tired today either and of course fearing the worst. I have seen that second pregnancies tend to have less boob pain but it's still making me worry 😕 so hard to get through these early weeks isn't it?

tulipsunday · 06/05/2023 13:19

I am 15dpo (4 wks +1) so very similar stage to you. Pregnant following one successful pregnancy then two miscarriages.

We are such early days so try not to worry about lack of symptoms though I know much easier said then done. I don't have much either and the ones I do fluctuate. My successful pregnancy had the least symptoms at this stage so I find that a bit reassuring.

Remember many people don't find out till after a missed period we are just hyper alert due to past losses.

Will you be having any early scans?

ChloeN · 06/05/2023 14:24

@tulipsunday oh god that’s awkward isn’t it, and I doubt they’d believe any excuse you could give either! Are they quite supportive? X

38andtrying · 06/05/2023 14:45

Here's a really random one and I want to know am I a looper or does anyone get this?

I'm nearly 13 weeks pregnant, all so far touch wood is going ok, but when I see a pregnant woman I still feel a pang of jealousy. I'm pregnant again and i still feel like weird and anxious about pregnant women. Do I need mental help or what ? Lol

TunnocksTCake · 06/05/2023 15:31

@tulipsunday thank you, and I know logically that symptoms come and go they just make me panic when they do. Just had to have a nap when dd did so I guess I am tired today after all!

@38andtrying not loopy, I get it. I was exactly the same with my first but I think it was more jealousy of the (completely imagined on my part) nativity of others in their easy breezy pregnancies and that they could just be happy without all the worry. I had no idea if that was the case but always seems it from the outside.

TunnocksTCake · 06/05/2023 15:32

Oh and @tulipsunday yes I'm planning a scan just trying to work out when best to do it to avoid not seeing a heartbeat when there should be one. Any ideas? I had one about every 10 days with my DD (seriously!) but hopefully just the one this time x

Daniki · 06/05/2023 15:51

@TunnocksTCake best around 7 weeks, that's what they advise in my EPU xx

tulipsunday · 06/05/2023 16:15

Yes 7 weeks onwards is best as should be a heartbeat visible then. Have you got an Early pregnancy unit near you? @TunnocksTCake Mine have agreed to scan me then as two consecutive losses. As you have a history of losses they might help.

@38andtrying I think when you have gone through miscarriages it does distort how you view pregnancy and other people so you are not going loopy 😊

Nervousbuthopeful · 06/05/2023 17:12

@tulipsunday It's a little girl! We had NIPT so very unlikely to be wrong, and ultrasounds have since confirmed. I am so so excited :-)

So glad that you can have a scan soon. I had a 7 week scan, too, with this one, and it felt so momentous.

@TunnocksTCake It's so hard! I panicked over everything in the early days of this one. I had some ovary pain that I worried might indicate an ectopic, but it was probably a cyst, and then my tests weren't getting darker and I sure I was having a very early loss, so I talked my GP into measuring HCG...HCG levels then came back about 150% of what would have been expected at that point! At one point a bit later my (mild) symptoms disappeared completely for several days, but then suddenly came back... It helped me to remember that my worry over something wasn't at all necessarily a sign that something was indeed wrong. Wishing you all the best!

@38andtrying I completely get that. I felt it for a long time, especially before I started showing, largely I think because I didn't feel like I was going to let myself accept that I was pregnant until at least the 20 week scan!

Nervousbuthopeful · 06/05/2023 17:16

@ChloeN So exciting that you have a scan! Let us know how it goes if you feel like it :-). I am SOOO excited for mat leave. I'm a secondary school teacher and head of year at a girls' school and am finding it increasingly difficult to give everything that is required to work...

Everything pregnancy-related has gone remarkably well, though. I had a low-lying placenta, but it has moved up; baby measured a little small at one appointment, but then showed right on track in a growth scan; I just got a letter saying I had some irregular antibodies and would need a further blood test, but from the answers to all my questions it seems that there is little to be concerned about at the moment (and results should be back soon)... In other words, it feels like there's always something to think about, but never serious, and so far always soon resolved.

ChloeN · 06/05/2023 17:24

@38andtrying I know what you mean, I was unbelievably jealous of everyone due the same time I was meant to be, but I just had to remind myself that you never know what that persons gone through to get to that point! It’s really hard, people assume it happened easily or was an accident for me and I find it so fustrating 🤣

@Nervousbuthopeful yes I’ll keep you updated on how it goes! I was on the 50/60th centiles last time I was scanned so I’ll be interested to see if it’s changed! Glad you’ve had a smooth pregnancy so far! I keep getting checked for pre ecamplsia and diabetes because I get odd symptoms but luckily it’s coke back okay so far!

chickaboo81 · 06/05/2023 18:15

Evening all,

Hope it's ok to join this thread. I'm 41 (42 in Aug). I'm currently 6.5 weeks, I had an early scan last Saturday. I've previously had 2 MCs, I have not children.

Im slightly worried as my boobs are no longer sore but still enlarged, I am extremely tired and just started with slight nausea in the last couple days.

I've got another early scan booked for Tuesday morning.

TunnocksTCake · 07/05/2023 06:43

@tulipsunday we do have an EPAU but they would scan me early with DD even after 4 MC so I doubt they will this time with 1 chemical since a live birth. They do private ones at the hospital though so at least I know I'm in safe hands, hate window to the womb etc.

Thanks @Daniki I will book for 7 weeks I think, that's 2 weeks before our holidays so enough time in case something goes wrong.

Thanks @Nervousbuthopeful it's so helpful to have other perspectives.

I've fallen for the CB digital trap, so annoyed with myself, I am getting darker and darker strips but as I am now 2w1day from Ovulation I did the digital weeks test and only got 1-2, now of course I will buy a load more so I can see it change to 2-3 🙄 please tell me I shouldn't be worried and it will likely be fine?!!
