@BellaTheDarkOverlord, I saw your update on the thread - congratulations, that's incredible news!! 🥳🥳 You must be feeling so relieved - I'm glad everything has worked out for you.

@Tinkerbell098, did I see that you're worried about only getting CB 1-2 weeks? Apologies if it was someone else! Is there a possibility that you're just not as far along as you first thought? Unless you were tracking ovulation, there's a possibility that you could be at least a week less than you think. I'm hoping that's the case. If you are worried, can you move your scan date forwards?
----

My SneakPeek confirmed that my suspicions are right... DS2 is on the way!! 🥰💙

Quokka7 · 22/10/2022 14:18

@BellaTheDarkOverlord I'm so glad it's all worked out. Its good you're being looked after and they're making sure you're on the aspirin etc. Must be such a relief. Hope you can relax and enjoy this weekend now!
@B1993 how exciting! 💙 how many weeks are you now? I'm 7+1 today and feeling a little more nauseous.
Thanks for setting up the new thread @firsttimelondonmummy

natkasz · 22/10/2022 14:36

Is anyone considering arranging a private NIPT? I'm 36 and last time I got a relatively high probability score after the NHS combined test which made me really anxious until I got my NIPT results. My research tells me that because of my age and how the algorithm works, the risk of trisomies will be automatically higher.

I don't mind paying for it but the question is when I should do it as apparently some Trusts don't allow women to undergo the combined test if they find out about their private NIPT. Also, I'm concerned (because of my recent MC) that if I have it at say 10 weeks, things can still go wrong and the probability of mc is lower at 14 weeks which is when I will most likely get my combined results back.

Savanna1990 · 22/10/2022 14:41

Hey, can I join please. Currently 4+1. So anxious this time round as we had a chemical pregnancy in August. I think I’m due June 30th although my other children have all come before due date.

CaliGirl47 · 22/10/2022 15:04

Thanks for the tag and starting a new thread 🤗 @firsttimelondonmummy

Wow that is so exciting! @B1993 I’m so pleased for you. 💙💛💙 Does it make you want to start buying baby clothes now that you know? Haha that’s what I’d be thinking 😆

firsttimelondonmummy · 22/10/2022 15:15

Congrats @B1993 💙 and no worries guys!
@B1993 at what week did you do your sneak peak?

OP posts:
B1993 · 22/10/2022 15:16

@Quokka7 I'm 7+3 so only a couple days in front of you. Nausea has been ok for me - I'm still getting waves of it, but not enough to make me physically sick. I've heard it peaks at around 9-10 weeks so there's still plenty of time and I'm not counting my chickens yet! 😅

I'm feeling good about the results as it's what I expected, but also a bit sad that I won't ever get to experience girl, mum relationship as this is our last. Don't get me wrong through, most importantly all we want is a healthy bub!!

@natkasz, I don't believe I have any factors that make me high risk for chromosomal abnormalities and got low probabilities with my first, so I've not considered doing it and will stick to the standard nhs one. If I was in your position, I may have thought differently though!

Congratulations to the ladies who recently got their postives and have joined us! 🥳💖

@Savanna1990 I know how you feel and also had a loss in August. In fact, there's quite a few ladies in here hopeful for their rainbow babies. 🌈

B1993 · 22/10/2022 15:17

@firsttimelondonmummy Did the test at 6+6.

firsttimelondonmummy · 22/10/2022 15:19

@natkasz we are considering private.
Due to the meds I was on and the drinking 🤦🏻‍♀️ we just want some reassurance as early as possible.
I’m 32 and it’s my first.

OP posts:
firsttimelondonmummy · 22/10/2022 15:19

@B1993 I have booked my scan at 6+6 now tempted to add this on!
How accurate are they that early on?

OP posts:
B1993 · 22/10/2022 15:22

@firsttimelondonmummy Sneak Peek say 99.9% accurate from 6 weeks! I would have thought having it done at a scanning place will make it more so too, as there's less risk of contamination.

WannabeMum22 · 22/10/2022 15:45

Hi everyone, I wasn't so active in the other thread as the first trimester symptons are hitting me so hard. I had a question - is it bad that I haven't made a referral to the hospital or told my GP yet? I've been so nervous and having a hard time what hospital to refer to!

firsttimelondonmummy · 22/10/2022 16:16

@WannabeMum22 i only referred yesterday.
I was having a hard time deciding and don’t have many friends with kids and didn’t want to tell many people so wasn’t advised I needed to have bloods etc.
I’ve booked a private scan to put my mind at ease a little next weekend.
might be an option?

natkasz · 22/10/2022 16:22

@B1993 Congratulations 🥰

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 22/10/2022 16:28

@B1993 Ooo boy! Congrats! DH is hoping for a boy and is wanting sneak peak but I feel I'd screw up doing it and get inconclusive result haha.

Picked up some aspirin now. I'm hoping it takes away my tooth and earache! On the plus side my brother who's 3rd is due in December has upgraded his pushchair so is giving us his other one which is really lovely. For free 😀

B1993 · 22/10/2022 16:47

@natkasz and @BellaTheDarkOverlord, thanks both! 🥰💙

@WannabeMum22, how many weeks are you? I don't think it's terrible that you've left it - lots of people find out 'late' so appointments might be pushed back or missed completely for those women and they still go on to have normal pregnancies and healthy babies. I will say, you might find that your appointments are later than you'd hope as I'm pretty sure it's on a first come, first serve basis. I personallly hate this stage when you know you're pregnant but have to wait to be seen and feel like it drags so much, so I've always referred early to get the ball rolling.

@BellaTheDarkOverlord You won't get an inconclusive result, the issue is that it tests for XY (male) chromosomes which can be picked up from objects and people (including male pets) and contaminate the results. I found the whole process really fiddly, if I'm honest, and do believe I contaminated mine! I do think it's a boy still so is the result is right regardless.

That's kind of your brother! I've kept most things from DS so won't need any big purchases this time round. I got rid of most of his clothes as he literally had HUNDREDS of bits in every size so it took up so much space, luckily the things I have kept will be gender appropriate for this baby too 😊

skyofdiamonds · 22/10/2022 17:09

Just checking in from other thread.
I am 7+4 today and now I’m on my second hospital admission for hyperemesis.
I’m definitely not getting much luck and have been so, so sick. Joys!

Mayfield87 · 22/10/2022 17:11

Checking in from other thread, 5+2 here with no symptoms- worried it's a bad sign 🙈

firsttimelondonmummy · 22/10/2022 17:33

@Mayfield87 I could have easily mistaken my symptoms for period/ pre period symptoms. I’ve only really had cramping, bloating & boob swelling (I’m 5+3) everyone is different right so wouldn’t worry!
