@Chaoscontrol are you in the UK? I don't think they include a scan at 8 weeks unless you are high risk or previous issues. I self referred to the midwife on the 26th October and they got back to me last night (to be honest I was surprised as their website said they had a back log) I think it takes them a few days 😊

MamaSJ15 · 08/11/2022 13:19

@Surreyfirsttimemum thank you. Nice that it hasn't taken you too long. It only took 3 cycles for our first so wasn't expecting such a long wait for it 2nd time around.

I'm also feeling a little anxious about it due to previous early losses. I've ordered another pack of FRER so I can test again tomorrow and hope the line is stronger. Did a digital this morning which said 1-2. Think I'd be 4 weeks today, AF due today too. Think I'll request an early scan in a couple of weeks as epu said due to my losses that it's good to have some reassurance.

Hope everyone is feeling okay!

Rutennotou · 08/11/2022 13:21

Absolutely destroyed with morning sickness today which makes me feel a bit better 🤣

This is my first pregnancy so I'm slightly unaware of what happens now. They emailed me earlier saying they would call me withing 2 weeks to book an appointment.

I keep testing but now I'm over analysisng the lines. They are certainly getting darker but I'm just so new to this I keep comparing to others and mine are just not super dark yet.

polkadotdasies88 · 08/11/2022 14:43

@Chaoscontrol Thank you for your words, they really did help me ❤️I did a one step test this morning & got a strong line and have calmed myself down since.

@Nearlymorning You're so right, it really is such a nerve wracking time. Let us know when you've done your digital test, it's a wonderful feeling actually seeing the word "pregnant" ❤️

Coffeeforlife · 08/11/2022 14:54

@Chaoscontrol usually the 8-10 week appointment is booking where you talk to midwife but no scan, can be over the phone or in person. They also take blood, blood pressure and weight at a similar time though not necessarily the same appointment. There's then usually a 12ish week scan, next scan being 20 weeks.

Some high risk people get extra scans but most don't which is why lots end up having private early scans x

Ah thank you!
I might try and get a scan at 8/10 weeks if I make it that far to make sure all is okay.
I'm just overwhelmed and in a panic this won't stick. Being a bit silly but, I'm trying to think positive 🤞🏻

Coffeeforlife · 08/11/2022 15:24

@Chaoscontrol I'm the same after an MMC two years ago, every time I go to the loo I expect the worst, the anxiety does get better after 12 weeks when the risks go down in my experience x

Primrose09 · 08/11/2022 16:51

Hi everyone 👋

New to this thread, I’ve had a surprise BFP over the weekend. I’ve got a scan with EPU tomorrow which will give me an indication of how far along I am. I haven’t had periods properly since I had my daughter so I’m not sure how far along I am, but suspect I’m due early July.

ScarletDreams · 08/11/2022 17:14

Olegia · 08/11/2022 07:12

@shibeshibe I am in exactly the same situation as you! Worried, not many symptoms (though I've never really had many symptoms at all), and an extra scan booked in on the 7th week (with the 'real' one on the 8th)

@ScarletDreams That sounds like a good idea, when is/was your af due?

Welcome @MamaSJ15 !!

@Rutennotou Thinking of you! Did they say that bleeding that is not 'significant' isn't a cause for concern then?
Keep us updated anyway :-)

@Olegia it's due tomorrow/Thursday this week so not long to wait.

Chaoscontrol · 08/11/2022 17:27

Hope everyone is doing okay today?
I still have minimal symptoms and can't accept I am pregnant. Is anyone else testing daily?

My app is showing me as 4w1d but my tests are getting much darker. I've stupidly deep dived into Google and all tests seem way darker than mine. AF didn't show and I'm still worried.. The tests are still very positive, but am I stupid to test daily?

Shall I just accept I am pregnant and move on?

Silly post I know, but as its so early I've not told anyone so this or my husbands ear are the only place I have 😂

@Chaoscontrol hi, I feel the same as you and yes , I am testing daily 🙈 my other half thinks I'm being daft and that I should just accept that I am pregnant and relax, but I'm a bit more realistic in being aware that anything can change in the early days.
I'm only 3+6 so slightly behind you and it feels like it's going to be a long few weeks of just 'wait and see' until I will be able to relax.
It's the not wanting to tell anyone too soon which makes it even tougher.

ThePodParent · 08/11/2022 18:35

@Chaoscontrol and @ScarletDreams I’ve done the same with all 3 pregnancies - tested every day (with internet cheapies) until I’m 5 weeks pregnant and I get a ‘3+‘ on a CB digital, at which point I stop. I think it’s really nice to see the progression! 🤓

I never stopped worrying that it might not work out though - I initially thought ‘I can relax at 12 weeks’, then ‘… at 20 weeks’, then ‘… once bub is viable’, then ‘… once I have an actual wiggly baby in my actual arms!’. 😄

Losti121623 · 08/11/2022 18:47

Hi everyone- hope you're all doing ok!

Got a completely unexpected BFP today with #3 & in complete shock! But I do remember loving being a part of threads like these during my other pregnancies, so I hope you don't mind me joining 😊 Estimated at 5+3, due around 08/07/22 😍

This makes me feel better!
I do them and compare like others do, they just are getting a significant amount darker yet which is panicking me.

I know everyone is different and this being my first pregnancy my body may be doing a lot, but at 15dpo I expected a huge dark line which just isn't there yet. They are darker than Friday for sure. I have some frer coming tomorrow to try and ease my anxiety..

I saw someone earlier say 'I am pregnant today' which I'm trying to stick by.

I really want this baby to stick🤞🏻✨

Totorotoes · 08/11/2022 20:12

Hi @Chaoscontrol , what sort of tests are you using? FRER will give you the darkest line as they are more sensitive. I have had ok lines on FRERs and 1-2 weeks on CB digital, but the cheap test my clinic gave is just a shadow, barely there at all. So the type you use makes a difference. Also, some people just don't get dark lines- especially if you're like me and drink loads of water (and wee a lot!!).

Having said all that, I am an absolute hypocrite, I haven't tested since the weekend and desperately want to test again but am far too scared, so I'm stuck in limbo land and also obsessing over whether my lines are 'dark enough'.... 🤦‍♀️

So, to confirm on Saturday I did get a positive friday I used a frer, cb and a cb digital. I got a 1-2 weeks on the digital and a solid positive on the frer using fmu on Saturday. Since then each day I am used the easy at home ones, not always with fmu - and sometimes in the afternoon after a hold. There is good progression but it's slow. I know it's only been 5 days, so I know not to expect huge amounts but it's kinda demoralising not seeing the big lines everyone else does, I too also drink a lot of water and wee a lot. I think I might stop and not test now till Friday or the weekend? I am the same though, I go back to check if its dark enough. I need a certain validation each day of a line.
AF hasn't arrived and I am getting positives. I need to remember this.

MamaSJ15 · 08/11/2022 21:26

I remember when I was pregnant with my first I got a positive on a FRER and a CB digital and I didn't test again, but I was niaive at that point and hadn't had to deal with any losses. Second time around and 2 early losses later it really does make you want to keep testing to ensure the progression! I did a IC and a FRER last night, line on the IC was really faint but pretty good on the FRER then did a CB digital today that said 1-2. I've got two more FRER that arrived today and one Digi left so I'm gonna try tomorrow and Friday for FRER and the weekend (or later if possible) for the Digi. Totally understand everyone's anxiety around this time.
But I'm loving what @Chaoscontrol said 'Today I am pregnant'. That should be the motto of the thread! ❤️❤️

heartbroken22 · 08/11/2022 21:36

Congratulations to everybody finding out you're pregnant!

Ladies who are expecting baby no 3 please let me know how you're feeling. I've got 2 beautiful girls and I'm just wondering how the dynamics are going to change dd1 will be 6 and dd2 will be 2. I'm not sure why I'm having a panic attack and anxiety. It's probably the fear of the unknown.

Losti121623 · 08/11/2022 21:56

@heartbroken22 I am feeling this way too! I have two wonderful boys who are 11 & 6, and I am wondering how our family dynamic will change with a #3. Both boys were planned, whereas #3 is a pleasant surprise for us which I think is making me feel more anxious and less prepared! (That & the fact my last pregnancy was some time ago 😅)

polkadotdasies88 · 08/11/2022 22:45

@Losti121623 I'm 5w-3 too! ❤️

septembersapphire7 · 08/11/2022 22:54

I’ve just booked a private scan at 8w.. waiting until nhs scan at 12w seemed so far away! At least I have something to count down towards now 😬 (it was only £69 so not breaking the bank either)

Losti121623 · 08/11/2022 23:05

@polkadotdasies88 Yayyy that's amazing! Huge congrats to you 😄xx
