@July2023 fab how exciting! I think I’ll buy a digital tomorrow, it’ll be a week since my first positive and I didn’t get this far last month 🤞🏼

Is anybody getting an early scan? My EPU will scan me at 6 weeks due to previous losses, so I’m going to give them a call in a week. It can’t come quick enough x

July2023 · 28/10/2022 09:03

So exciting I got to 4w6d last time. I’ve had bloods done which come back at 191 then more bloods Monday to check they are rising and then been referred for an early scan so waiting to hear back with an appointment. I’ve had lots of mild cramping since Monday so hoping that’s all completely normal, slightly sore boobs but other than that I’m absolutely fine! X

bubble55 · 28/10/2022 09:07

@July2023 yes I’m the same, just bad belly ache yesterday but nothing today 🤞🏼Boobs feel slightly sore but not overly. My tests totally faded out the previous times despite being dark to begin with but it was mainly the cheapy tests so I’ve been doing them this time and getting dark lines still thankfully. Great news about your bloods x

Coffeeforlife · 28/10/2022 09:55

I've booked in for a private early scan in a couple of weeks, I think I'm about 4+2, and also a serial tester. In my last pregnancy I had a healthy scan at 8+3 but shortly afterwards it died, and I didn't find out until 11 weeks. Then there were a series of issues which I thought meant I couldn't get pregnant again (this was 2 years ago) so I'm still feeling anxiety/dread rather than excitement.

Lynsey1679 · 28/10/2022 10:01

I think when we have had any previous loss we tend to over analyse everything. I remember my first pregnancy I did one test and that was it. Now I can't help myself to test every day.

I have added a picture of my tests and I don't know if the lines are too faint. I would have thought they would have got darker by now. I should be 4+2

@Lynsey1679 I think there's a lot of variation between brands so I'm not sure how the coop ones 'should' look. I bought some new cheapies which scared me because the line was really faint, turned out they're just not as sensitive. Have you got any more number of weeks ones you can use?x

bubble55 · 28/10/2022 10:42

@Lynsey1679 i think they look fine. This is my cheap test at 4w2d last night.

Hey, cautiously joining. Not sure how many DPO, had a chemical last month then negative test following. Tested tonight and got this ... Will test again in a couple of days. So hard to not let your heart run away with everything, trying to stay level headed.

Hello,
Another cautious joiner...
I think I'm about 5 weeks so due early July. I had an ectopic resulting in tube removal last November so have an early scan booked on Thursday at the EPU. I did have some light bleeding for a few days before I tested positive which was terrifying but it didn't last long and tests have got darker since so I have everything crossed.
Also have a nearly 2 year old and definitely ten times more anxious this time round!

Stressybetty81 · 01/11/2022 21:12

I am with you there! I have 3 kids and just turned 41. My emotions are all over the place.. am I too old, am I being selfish, will this end in another chemical or miscarriage? I havent told my OH yet either, I'll see how this line progresses on Friday.

Skyblue22 · 02/11/2022 08:21

Hi everyone, lovely to join you all! First time posting and first time pregnant. 5 weeks, OH knows because we've spent so long looking at the tests trying to work out if a faint positive was still positive. Still feeling a bit surreal as I had mentally written last month off with him being away for the majority of my fertile window.

I'm a serial tea drinker so going out to get some decaf tea is pretty high on my priority list at the mo!!

I feel the same (I'm 40) and it took me a few days to tell DH. It still doesn't feel real. I first got pregnant at 33, did a couple of tests, called the doctor then pretty much forgot about it until symptoms started. I really wish I was in that headspace now!

Hanna8 · 02/11/2022 10:06

Got my BFP yesterday and I'm still in shock. I'm 36, this'll be my 4th after a 12 year hiatus. 😊

shibeshibe · 02/11/2022 11:27

Welcome everyone and congrats on your BFPs!

I'm 5 weeks now which is exciting but also the morning sickness has already started for me today, let just say I really regret having marmite on toast for breakfast this morning. Urgh.

cams88 · 02/11/2022 16:42

Hi Ladies, congratulations on all the BFPs ❤️ I’m tentatively jumping on board after getting a surprise positive test on Monday, it was my birthday so a nice unexpected present! Due date is 1st July. My little boy turned 1 on Saturday so we’ll be joining the 2 under 2 club which is fairly terrifying but will hopefully be a nice age gap in the long run!

Stressybetty81 · 02/11/2022 21:50

I'm working out and I'm probably only 10dpo. Which would be why the tests are so light. I'll try amd keep myself busy till after the weekend then do a test and see what that is like. Still not told my other half as don't want to stress him out! I'll just sit tight and wait it out.

mothermotherm · 03/11/2022 12:15

I’ll join! Got my BFP last week 😊
I will be 5 weeks tomorrow - feeling excited but nervous with it being so early. I have a 3 year old DD who I know will be thrilled but we are going to hold out until the second trimester to tell her.
Congratulations to you all so far!

Olegia · 04/11/2022 07:19

Hey all, happy to join this thread! I'm due around the 7th of July, and have been getting positives since 12 DPO

TTC2022newbie · 04/11/2022 08:25

Hey all, I've got my BFP on Wednesday night and all still fairly faint, even this morning. You can tell it's positive bit not that strong yet

How are you working out how many weeks and days you are?

Also when do you generally tell your doctor?

Are you going to go for an early scan?

This is my first pregnancy and my first ever BFP so I'm consciously optimistic 🤷🏼‍♀️

Olegia · 04/11/2022 08:35

@TTC2022newbie congratulations!

You work it out from the first day of your last period, so when most women find out is when they are actually already 4 weeks or around that time (based on a 28 day cycle). My cycle is pretty long, like 35/36 days, so I was already 5 weeks when I found out!

I live in the Netherlands so it's a bit different, I called my doctor straight away to tell them that, and they told me to pick a midwifery practice, so I contacted them, gave all my info etc, and now I have my first check on the 25th of November!

I am just like you, first pregnancy, although I have been lucky in being successful trying on the first go, I am aware that I have been diagnosed with PCOS, which carries a slightly higher risk of miscarriage, so am trying to tamper my expectations!

Has anyone else had insomnia the first/second week of finding out? I've been waking up at 5am and not being able to fall back asleep, so annoying as I'm very tired during the day

Rutennotou · 04/11/2022 09:07

Hi everyone!

I got my BFP on Saturday. I was on the pill so was unsure exactly how far along I am, since I last had any spotting I worked out my due date to be 3rd July.

I went for a scan yesterday at the EPU to try and figure it out and they've put me at 6+2, which would mean I'd be due at the end of June. They could see a yolk sac and fetal pole but no heartbeat. So I'm quite nervous now. I'm going back on Thursday to see if things have progressed - its going to be a long week.

Olegia · 04/11/2022 09:27

Hi @Rutennotou and welcome! You went for a scan quite early on!
Sorry to hear no heartbeat was detected, though bear in mind it is still early days, I'm hoping all goes well on Thursday!

Melio90 · 04/11/2022 11:22

I'm jumping in. Think I'm 5 weeks, had a chemical end of September and pregnant again straight away so I'm an absolute mess! For those pregnant after chemical what day did you class as "first day of period" I had started spotting on the Wednesday and got steadily heavier until the Friday It was full on

Eldance123 · 04/11/2022 12:49

I'm with you all on testing every day - i check every day if its darker or lighter than the day before lol! It's crazy but if it makes us feel better deffo do it but if its stressing you out try and avoid doing it! I'm also checking the toilet paper each time I wee to make sure no blood!! Has anyone had previous babies before and do the nerves calm down after 12 week scan? xxx

bubble55 · 04/11/2022 13:14

@Melio90 im in the same position as you. I started bleeding the 27th sept and classing that as my first day x

@Eldance123 i don’t think it ever gets easier as you’re then feeling baby move! 🙈 And on constant kick watch!

im bad for testing and have done every day 🙄 I have my first scan on weds when I think I’ll be 6w1d so I’m hoping to see something. I’ll stop testing then.

this was my test this morning, I’m just using them up now but they’re v strong 🙏🏼🙏🏼

@Rutennotou please update us xx
