Nice to hear some reassuring news news here.
@mumma2oneDD that such good news for you 😊

@Littledux that's fab news, how do you feel having twins? I think there are a few twins on this thread isn't there?

I had a message from school to come pick up my DD this morning, she still has what I assume is a viral infection and they said she was going downhill, cold to touch, shivering and not happy. I'm glad to be home to be honest because it seems I've picked it up from her too 😥

Nadinya · 13/12/2022 15:18

It sounds like there are loads of twins in this group!

I've got my Nuchal Dating Scan next monday and for some reason I'm acutally getting rather nervous. Doesn't help that DH is currently napping because he is having a cold so now I'm worried I'm having to go in alone next week.

ThePodParent · 13/12/2022 16:45

@Nadinya I’ve got a private scan on Thursday (about 9w4) and I’m nervous for that too!

Pre pregnancy, I’d always imagined that I’d be super excited at each scan, but before every scan in my pregnancy with DD I was nervous! I feel like you become so aware of all the things that could go wrong once you’re actually pregnant that it feel less fun and exciting than I had imagined. Although once you’ve seen that all is ok it really is amazing! Maybe I’ll try to think about that!

Coffeeforlife · 13/12/2022 17:14

@ThePodParent the moment before they put the scanner on you is always awful. I've been having scans every week because I'm convinced something has happened.

For any newer joiners who might be interested we've got a Facebook group at www.facebook.com/groups/662719028737305/?ref=share

It's a private group and called Waterlilies which is a birth flower of July, so if you get any notifications it's not obvious what the group is for x

Anon2021x · 13/12/2022 17:26

Hi All,

Cautiously joining.. I tested today as I hadnt been feeling right but I had a Gastric Sleeve 3 months ago so put it down to potentially side effects from that.. So tested more to rule it out..

But positive it was! I've had three miscarriages in a row prior to this. I think I'm about 8 weeks..

Very shocked to say the least.

Wishing you all the very best in your pregnancies ❤️

ThePodParent · 13/12/2022 17:41

@Coffeeforlife thats exactly it - that moment before and also the moment of quiet when they’ve put it on you and are having a quick nose around before saying anything or letting you see the screen. I’ve had both ‘yep definitely someone in there!’ And ‘er I can see the sac, but no baby…’ so I’m not looking forward to this moment on Thursday! I feel so much more unwell this time compared to my MC though so that gives me some hope.

@Anon2021x congratulations!! That’s so exciting! And welcome aboard Team July xx

MaraudingMother · 13/12/2022 20:59

I've had my EPAU scan today - measuring 7 weeks with a heartbeat. Cautiously optimistic

FirsttimemummrsJ · 13/12/2022 21:08

So nice to see some positive scans.
I've hooked a private one for Sunday when I'll be 9 weeks as just want to be told everything is as it is.
Had my first midwife appointment yesterday and now just anxious about all the blood tests and stuff and the results. My nausea has been horrendous still but in the evenings I'm awful - come over really warm but then I'm shivering and have a headache. Has anyone else had this? Midwife said it's normal but I'm just an anxious worrier - being my first. I can't wait to finish work Friday and have 2 weeks off to look after myself.

heartbroken22 · 13/12/2022 21:53

@FirsttimemummrsJ yeah that's how I felt/feel with my hyperemesis (extreme nausea and vomiting). Could you ask your doctor for some anti sickness medicine like cyclizine? If it doesn't work then ask again but please don't be afraid to ask. Also look up pregnancy sickness support and WhatsApp them they send you very informative emails to manage sickness in pregnancy. I also noticed taking the vitamin b6 helps my nausea.

FirsttimemummrsJ · 14/12/2022 06:34

Thank you. I will try and get hold of my doctor and try that group! Really appreciate your advice x

Losti121623 · 14/12/2022 09:57

Hope you’re all doing well ladies ❤️ I caved today & booked a spontaneous scan for this afternoon, I’ve managed to hold out till now but found a good deal at a fairly local clinic with availability today & couldn’t resist 😊

squirrelnutkins1 · 14/12/2022 13:13

@Losti121623 don't blame you, it feels such a long wait! Let us know how you go 🙂

Rutennotou · 14/12/2022 14:43

Just got a call from the midwife, my 12 week scan has been brought forward from 10th January to Tuesday!

Losti121623 · 14/12/2022 17:44

@squirrelnutkins1 It is the longest wait! All went well though so I feel a lot better 😌

@Rutennotou so glad to hear you managed to get your scan brought forward! 😊

ThePodParent · 14/12/2022 17:57

Euuurrrggghhhh anyone else feeling very much over the first trimester sickness? Whilst genuinely grateful to be pregnant, I’m so bored of feeling ill everyday 😔 I think I’m feeling particularly deflated as I was beginning to feel better now in my pregnancy with DD, and I thought I was beginning to feel better this time too, but the little dinner I had just landed me straight in the bathroom 😔 Come onnnnnn feeling better!

Sorry for the whinge! Hoping everyone else is feeling ok x

Anon2021x · 14/12/2022 19:44

Thank you for the welcome - I agree it is such a long wait waiting for that 12w scan. I've got a private one booked in tomorrow as I have a history of MC unfortunately, so just to check in and see where I'm at.

Fingers crossed all goes okay.

@ThePodParent the sickness is tough but hopefully it will start easing off for you soon! Xx

I was saying the exact same thing last night to DH (also apologising for being so grumpy!) It's hard feeling ill all the time ☹️

MamaSJ15 · 14/12/2022 21:15

@ThePodParent I'm sick of being poorly but mine isn't even pregnancy related! Since I've known I was pregnant, I've had a week with a horrific cold which then turned into another week of sinus infection, then it cleared for a few days, my DD has been poorly the last 2 weeks and I've come down with something since Saturday again which the doc said is 'flu like'. I feel so rough, I just want it to go away! My whole body hurts, I'm totally stuffy, coughing, it's horrid 😥

RandomCatGenerator · 14/12/2022 22:52

Hi everyone

Checking in cautiously. I had a private scan a few weeks ago as I miscarried at the start of September, and there was indeed a heartbeat. Due end of July.

Second baby, DS is 16 months old. Bit worried about having a two year old and a newborn…😬 but it’s too early days for any of those thoughts yet I fear.

RandomCatGenerator · 14/12/2022 22:53

And I definitely empathise with others in feeling sick ALL THE TIME - both nausea (much worse than with my first pregnancy!!) and horrible fluey cold cough thing going around which knocked me out for weeks.

ThePodParent · 15/12/2022 13:04

Thank you for your sympathy and empathy! It all feels worth it today as I had a private scan this morning and we saw our little bubba wiggling his/her arms and legs, having a nice little back stretch and lifting his/her head up off their chest a few times. One of the best things I’ve ever seen! Measuring very slightly ahead at 9w6d.

The relief at seeing a little baby on the screen was so great, after my last experience of a 10w scan being bad news last Feb.

Now I can relax. Until the next scan anyway… 😁🤦🏻‍♀️

my DS was 19 months old when DS2 was born and it was amazing. They’re now 4&3 and the absolute best of friends! Completely inseparable and it’s an amazing bond. The newborn bit was fine tbh; it’s when he started crawling and they decided they liked to go in opposite directions that it became tricky 😂

Rutennotou · 16/12/2022 13:37

Having the worst nausea in a while today, hoping it'll ease in the second trimester. Been living on hash browns and wheaten bread 😂

MamaSJ15 · 16/12/2022 20:03

@Rutennotou oh no, are you feeling any better now?

I empathise. Absolutely dreadful recently. I swear it wasn’t this bad for my first.
