CurlyNo2 · 22/10/2022 13:31

That’s good to know, thanks ladies. Made me feel less like I need to desperately rush out and buy a Moses basket.

My bloody discharge has started again today. It’s not much but it makes me feel nervous, especially given the conversation with the consultant yesterday about needing a c-section due to babies size. Really hope I don’t go into spontaneous labour anytime soon given I’m only 35+2.

greenerfingers · 22/10/2022 14:24

I just used to lug the Moses basket downstairs during the day and up again at night. No space for 2 and not practical for me.

Bubblegum20 · 22/10/2022 15:13

We've got a Moses basket downstairs and then the snuzpod upstairs, we got the Moses basket down from the loft this week to try and get our DD used to sharing the living room with other baby bits, she doesn't seem to care so far about the extra bits and just plays normally with her toys which is good

Elle1709 · 22/10/2022 15:22

We've got moses basket in living room and beside me crib in bedroom. I think ill also use the pram as well. My sister gave me her sleepyhead as well which she said is great. Does anyone have any experience with these? I know they are not meant for overnight sleeping, but are they okay to use if you are watching baby?

I'm having a rough day, feeling so tired and drained of all energy. I have loads I feel like I need to do, but can't even get up off the sofa!

Domibeva · 22/10/2022 16:45

I’ve got the same as most of you, Moses basket downstairs - it was a gift for my little girl off my late Nan so will definitely use again. And then a next to me in the bedroom for nighttime sleeping.

@Elle1709 i feel you!
I went with my mum to do the food shop and could barely walk I came home and fell asleep on the sofa 😂 not like me at all. Fatigue has well and truly set in!

greenerfingers · 22/10/2022 17:20

My little one never took to it @Elle1709 but his cousins stayed in it well up to a year.

TFMinx · 22/10/2022 20:14

@AmyRose223 @GeorgieEm hope you both find us here on the new thread!

GeorgieEm · 22/10/2022 20:30

tigger2022 · 22/10/2022 21:53

I think I fell off the list at some point, not got any notifications for ages 😅

OtiMama · 22/10/2022 22:03

We are using the pram bassinet downstairs and did last time. I feel moses baskets are such a waste of money unless you already have one/gifted or you have small baby. My son then napped upstairs in the next to me style crib once he was too big for the pram bassinet. We will do the same this time.

I really could have gone to bed 2 hours ago, the only thing that stops me is I remember how I don't actually find it that comfy and spend ages moving side to side trying to get comfortable.

greenerfingers · 22/10/2022 22:22

This is a daft question but those of you who use the pram, do you just use the bassinet on like a table/sofa/ floor etc or do you always have your pram open in living room? I don't have the space for leaving pram open but could do the bassinet trick on dining table (open plan room)

CurlsnLipstick · 22/10/2022 22:53

Wow, never thought of using the pram bassinet in the living room. Always brought down the sleepyhead and had the sofa bed fully open. Now that sofa bed gone, this will come in handy.

@OtiMama lol this is literally me right now. Yawning and exhausted but would rather not be in bed knowing how long I'll be tossing and turning.

Btw,this is the first pregnancy I haven't used any pillows between my knees & no hip pain!! Could be a coincidence 🤷‍♀️

dreamcatchmee · 23/10/2022 06:39

Morning everyone. This is my second pregnancy and this time last pregnancy I was in hospital being induced. I went in at 35 and gave birth at 35+5.
I don't remember struggling to sleep this much at night. Anyone else struggling with comfort, wakefulness or anything? I have another week left at work so I hope I manage to get a good night tonight haha.

Bramblecrumble22 · 23/10/2022 07:06

Got gifted a moses basket. It makes for lovely photos but I agree not long and baby was grabbing at the handles. If I took it off the frame, it went on floor. Safest there from being accidentally knocked off. More so this time now I have a four year old.

CurlyNo2 · 23/10/2022 07:27

Sleep is non existent for me. I have excruciating pain in my left hip when I lie down. Do I persevere as not long left or do I speak to my GP? My midwife won’t do anything about it.

I hope everyone is doing ok!

greenerfingers · 23/10/2022 08:57

I had the same last night @CurlyNo2 and shooting pains down both legs from sciatica. My lower back is also out of place causing bad hip pain. I'm going to try to for one more massage and hot baths really help with oil and salts.

For me I had similar pains with my son but not as severe and they disappeared soon after birth and didn't affect my labour. I'm hoping the same this time. I was on my feet a lot yesterday.

CurlyNo2 · 23/10/2022 09:03

I’m sorry that you’re also experiencing these pains, they’re crap aren’t they? Do you do the massage yourself or do you go somewhere?

I feel like I’ve developed everything with this pregnancy. Numb fingers all day but worse when I get up, my fingers are slightly swollen so I wonder if the fluid retention has got to a nerve in my wrist or something?

Does anybody have anything nice planned for today?

greenerfingers · 23/10/2022 09:05

I was going for a deep tissue massage all throughout pregnancy but now can't afford it so my husband did it yesterday. If he does it after a hot bath it helps a lot more. It's not something we can do ourselves as it's the back and lower back. Hope our babies come soon after we hit term and we can have some relief. 35 weeks and counting ..

CurlyNo2 · 23/10/2022 09:20

That’s the problem with me, I can’t afford a professional physio so it would have to be my husband who does it, but he is useless (hormonal much!). I’m in desperate need of something as I absolutely dread going to bed.

We are in flat so cant decide to have something in the living room or have baby in our room with the doors open and monitor on

I have found sitting on an exercise ball really helps my groin and back pain i dont know if that would help anyone?

@dreamcatchmee im struggling with sleep keeping waking up to pee and change position, then ds comes in and takes all the space so the i normally end up on the sofa (which actually really supports my back and is very comfy so i dont mind) but then im wide awake for ages so rather disturbed at the moment! I guess its good practise for when the baby comes 😂

@CurlyNo2 have you tried taking some pain killers just to take the pressure off with the pain. I found just taking paracetamol once a day with my pain really helped.
And have you got a pregnancy pillow? I found it really helps for support
Sorry if you have said you have tried these things!

OP posts:
OtiMama · 23/10/2022 10:50

I agree about being on the ball, it is so much better for your body and posture than sitting on the sofa. Also great for encouraging baby to be in the best position and for use in labour too. I spent hours on mine then. I feel like it's so frustrating as unless you pay for a professional to help with aches and pains the midwife just says oh that is being pregnant. I think that being said what help can do this late is limited compared to starting earlier with it but just so expensive so we ache on!

I can't believe I'm saying this but my 2 year old slept until 10am this morning, typically on the day we agreed my husband would get up with him, but still amazing! so whilst I was awake in the night, overall I still got a decent amount of sleep for once. Now I'm just being lazy and need to motivate myself to get some chores done and make space for this crib in the bedroom. Got my last two days at work coming up and potentially a small bit on Friday and then I'm done. Feels odd saying that.

greenerfingers · 23/10/2022 12:25

For me the ball irritates my spd although it does move baby down. Anything squat like irritates spd so I was told last time only has it on all fours. That helps me.

Happy you feel well rested @OtiMama. I thought the rain would perhaps encourage my LO to sleep in a bit but nope up at the crack of dawn 😅

Beanniebaby22 · 23/10/2022 14:15

Question for the ladies who have had babies before.
How did your waters break? Slow leak, big gush, broken by the midwife?

I only ask because my PJ bottoms had a big wet patch this morning (pretty sure I didn’t pee myself 😳) wearing a sanitary towel now but still feel a bit damp down there. Sorry if that’s gross. Just not sure if it’s just watery discharge.
