I used some of my batch cooking already on the days I struggle to move. Sadly today was one of those days, I feel like someone has sawed my legs and back apart. They feel so disconnected I can barely walk from the looseness and pain.

I mainly batch cooked sauces for lasagne, pasta, curries, etc and just throw the meat in as I use them. I also cut up a lot of veg and froze that for cooking meals like chicken pie etc. I can't eat a meal that's been defrosted, I used to but since pregnancy the thought puts me off so bad so I just did bases.

I'm really feeling mentally exhausted today, I'm barely 37 weeks! I should not be symptom spotting like this so early. But ever since I've been getting that random stretchy discharge I'm constantly searching for labour signs and have none. The discharge could just be normal pregnancy discharge or the mucus plug I'll never know. Wish I never saw it now!

curlywurly10 · 09/11/2022 20:11

Seeing yous all with the meal prep got me realising i'll probably be living on toast and ramen noodles for a bit 🤣

TFMinx · 09/11/2022 20:31

@SUSB2016 we're due date buddies. I've had not a single twinge, so I don't think baby will be here anytime soon.

I've got a midwife appointment tomorrow and I'm going to beg for a sweep; do you think they'll do one as it's my second and I'll be 40+1 rather than in week 41? I just can't carry on for potentially another two weeks 😩

greenerfingers · 09/11/2022 20:42

I think they would @TFMinx. Where I am they offer quite early

TFMinx · 09/11/2022 20:44

That's good. My midwife is really good and I'd be surprised if she said no

I don't see why not! I was actually booked in for a sweep tomorrow but I asked to just have a routine midwife appointment instead as I'm shit scared of the pain I'd rather just wait and see if anything happens over the weekend.

greenerfingers · 09/11/2022 20:56

@SUSB2016 I stupidly thought a sweep was just like a perineal massage 😂😂 only yesterday my friend gave me the sordid details. Got on my birth ball fast I did! I'm too scared like that.

rickandmorts · 09/11/2022 23:45

I'm officially full term today 🥳 3 weeks today until I'm 40 weeks and it's my due date. Trying not to think about the fact I could go 2 weeks over and still be 5 weeks away from meeting baby 😭 my birth pool came last week so going to set that up in the kitchen this weekend and sort my birth area!

SUSB2016 · 09/11/2022 23:53

Also... curious to know if anyone else's older DCs (toddlers in particular) totally lost the plot in the lead up to the arrival of their new sibling? DD has become sooo clingy and unreasonable, sends my anxiety through the roof! My MIL used to say they can sense when big change is coming and I thought it was waffle, but now I'm wondering if DD is just super nervous about everything to come.

greenerfingers · 10/11/2022 02:00

Congrats @rickandmorts ! I think everyone in the group is officially term now.

dreamcatchmee · 10/11/2022 02:04

Congratulations on new arrivals!! ❤️❤️

It's 0204 and I'm sitting awake wanting to go make a snack, but the effort to go downstairs and make said snack is way too much effort 🙃

CurlyNo2 · 10/11/2022 03:51

I spoke too soon when I got a reasonable sleep last night. Woke up on the sofa flat out on my back and so out of breath and headachey 😩

CurlsnLipstick · 10/11/2022 04:03

Thank you for the kind messages. Clearly thinking of you ladies. Want to remind you that, the instant baby is born you forget all the previous pain. Obviously not because there's a new type of pain 🤣🙄😅 but the little one just takes over your world (again)❤️

Not long to go ladies xx

greenerfingers · 10/11/2022 06:14

What a difficult night. I was up every hour or two changing positions from hips to back in agony. Changing positions itself would take almost an age and end with cramping or just excruciating pain. I really don't think I can carry on like this for another 5 weeks potentially.

sarahj878 · 10/11/2022 09:01

Has anyone else had excruciating pain in their abdomen, especially left side? I was awake most of the night in agony, has eased this morning and baby is moving fine but I haven’t a clue what it was!

CurlyNo2 · 10/11/2022 09:02

@greenerfingers This is me! I feel everything you have described, it’s torture! But I keep telling myself it’s not forever - worst case scenario 5 weeks. Keep that in your mind, so you have an actual end date to this pain.

VolcanicProtectorMan · 10/11/2022 09:33

@sarahj878 Can’t say I have, just the twinges when I roll over that are short lived. Although when I strained to reach something once I got excruciating pain in my side for around 10-15 mins afterwards. Has it gone completely now or just eased? I’d be tempted to call tbh, and I don’t call for anything 😅

sarahj878 · 10/11/2022 09:51

@VolcanicProtectorMan its completely gone now but it was so painful it woke me up and then as it eased I managed to get off to sleep again but every time I woke I was still in pain. Think I might call for a check up

Eryr22 · 10/11/2022 10:34

Congratulations to the ladies who've had their babies! I don't know if I'm doing something wrong with this app but I can't look at the post whilst replying so I can never remember what I'm replying to, peoples names etc!

I haven't had pain like that. The pain I'm getting is (I think?!) trapped wind! It's awful because I just can't get rid of it no matter how many times I go to the loo/ how many laxidos I drink!! I'm assuming my intestines are just super squashed.

9 days overdue today and having my THIRD membrane sweep!! I'm 3-4cm dilated so I'm going to ask them if (when 😂) I have my induction whether they will just break my waters, what drugs I'll need etc.

Another complaint I have is since the horrendous first trimester sickness I have the strongest gag reflex! I struggle to brush my teeth without throwing up, urgh! I hope that goes once the baby is here...

I feel this!!

Eryr22 · 10/11/2022 13:23

Just had my third sweep and I'm now 5cm 🤯 hoping this labour will be a fast one when it starts!

Beanniebaby22 · 10/11/2022 13:28

@Eryr22 no contractions? I’m sure you’re ready to lose the plot being 9 days over. Baby is bound to arrive soon!

TFMinx · 10/11/2022 13:36

I've just had my first sweep although I don't think it'll be successful as she's written 'internal OS closed' she still managed to do something though as she was not holding back (in her words)

CurlyNo2 · 10/11/2022 13:51

Bloody hell! One big cough and baby will be here!

OtiMama · 10/11/2022 16:17

@Eryr22 have they said if you're contracting and not aware or just not at all. Let's hope it's all quick once they start as seems amazing to get to 5cm without knowing!!

@SUSB2016 I do think some toddlers can sense change and that's reflected in their behaviour. For others I think it's just that age at which they become slightly more difficult, test the boundaries etc. It is tough though isn't it!

sorry I also struggle to remember all that is said and who said what, you have you have to come on so regularly to remember it all. My memory is shocking.

@TFMinx fingers crossed things start moving. I said to my midwife when I have a sweep next week I want her to have a good go haha I think some can be more gentle than others but I don't find them overly painful or anything so don't mind the idea if it helps baby along. This time round I am done with not being very mobile and awake all the time!

@greenerfingers I'm nearly 39 weeks now and I've been suffering similarly at night for weeks, it's so awful isn't it. I have to steady myself when I get out of bed to take a step.
