Oh @Bramblecrumble22 congratulations! Hope you’re doing ok.

Fantastic news to start the day. I reckon we’re averaging a baby a day at the minute 🥰

greenerfingers · 08/11/2022 10:48

Aww congratulations @Bramblecrumble22 ! Such great news and that sounds like a fantastic birth as far as births go. Hope you have a speedy recovery and enjoy your new bundle!

@CurlyNo2 since we're at the end of the month we might as well live through all the other births for now

roobearbaby · 08/11/2022 11:09

Congratulations @brambkecrumble22 sounds like such a positive experience...minus the vomming obviously!

Your story has filled me with positivity ❤️

Enjoy your little newborn bundle xxx

TFMinx · 08/11/2022 11:52

Aww yay for @Bramblecrumble22 great news and another bambino to add to the list!

Beanniebaby22 · 08/11/2022 12:12

Oh @Bramblecrumble22 thats wonderful congratulations!
My goodness these babies are arriving thick and fast now.
I’m due in 10 days, growth scan today and will be possibly getting a provisional induction date booked.

OtiMama · 08/11/2022 13:22

yay @Bramblecrumble22 congratulations and great you had a positive birth minus the vomiting. Hope you are enjoying those newborn cuddles.

Good luck to everyone else in hospital today. Birth still feels a while off to me despite having cramps again last night. I'm so used to them now.

Feeling so tired today after being up half the night. My son fell asleep in the car mid morning annoyingly which means his usual 2 hour nap is out the window when I often rest too. He will probably get grumpy later when it's too late to nap!

curlywurly10 · 08/11/2022 13:48

I am also a human radiator right now, my partner keeps complaining saying 'got to put the heating on' and i'm over here sweating like don't you dare!!!

congratulations @Bramblecrumble22 on your baby boy! sounds like a (mostly) good experience, enjoy 🥳

@wibblewobbleball really sorry you're feeling so bad, just need to concentrate on the light at the end of the tunnel. i'm going through the same thing with the carpel tunnel & aching hips it's a lot to deal with especially when trying to sleep. i've got a growth scan on Friday and fingers crossed they offer to induce me because i also am not sure how much longer i can take of this pain and feeling down, you're not alone, hope things get better quickly for you ❤️

tb4122 · 08/11/2022 13:50

Yep, another dealing with a DP feeling chilly and wanting the heating on while I'm nearly passing out from feeling too warm.

Bubblegum20 · 08/11/2022 14:58

@Bramblecrumble22 aww congratulations, enjoy your newborn cuddles

smiles39 · 08/11/2022 15:02

Whoops I’ve missed loads of births, congratulations to everyone who has a new bubba! 🥳

Beanniebaby22 · 08/11/2022 15:34

These partners wanting the heating on May put on some layers and grab a blanket lol. Cooling yourself down is harder than warming yourself up!

Just had my growth scan and as I expected weight was grossly over-estimated last time. He’s measuring about 7lbs which puts him back on the original percentile he was measuring on.

They tried to do a sweep but cervix is still closed. Been offered an induction at 10 days over but really hope I go on my own before then 😩

WandaVon · 08/11/2022 19:59

Waters broke at 3pm today in fairly dramatic fashion. In hospital now. Things are pretty slow at the minute, but hopefully it won't be too drawn out. Excited to meet my little boy.

TFMinx · 08/11/2022 20:01

Good luck to you @WandaVon hope things are progressing

CurlyNo2 · 08/11/2022 20:16

Oh how exciting @WandaVon Hope things move quickly for you!

roobearbaby · 08/11/2022 20:20

That's so exciting @wandavon hope things progress a bit quicker and you get to meet baby soon xx

Thank you so much, it really does mean a lot to know I'm not alone feeling like this. Hopefully not long for either of us now.

Congrats @Bramblecrumble22 and good luck @WandaVon Smile

CurlyNo2 · 08/11/2022 20:40

@wibblewobbleball Its shit, but it won’t be forever. I’ve got carpal tunnel in both hands so have to wear splints on both wrists, highly recommend if you’ve not already got/using them. About £9 per wrist on Amazon. I’ve got PGP in my hips so sleep is non existent, it’s horrendous and I really do feel your pain. I’ve taken to now sleeping sitting up as if I lay down on my left I’m in agony as this is the side I’m really affected on. Not long for us all
now x

sarahj878 · 08/11/2022 21:32

Congratulations @Bramblecrumble22

Anyone else with little ones already feeling very emotional as birth draws closer? I burst into tears tonight thinking how much my sons world
is going to change and felt so guilty! Emotional rollercoaster at the mo

Eryr22 · 08/11/2022 21:39

Eeek how exciting @WandaVon

I'm a week overdue now and had another sweep today. I'm 4cm dilated! Midwife couldn't believe I'm not in active labour! I'm starting to think it would be lovely if I carry on dilating like this without any contractions!

CurlyNo2 · 08/11/2022 22:09

@sarahj878 Yes! I get pangs of guilt every now and then wondering if this is going to turn my sons world upside down for the worse. It probably won’t, but… I can’t help feeling guilty that it won’t be just me and him anymore (and his dad of course).

@Eryr22 Oh can you imagine if you could coast through it all with no contractions. Fingers crossed you get some further movements soon.

I have my 38 week appointment tomorrow with my midwife. I can’t remember, so they examine you at this appointment? Because if they do, I’m gonna need to do some pruning asap! 🙈

Beanniebaby22 · 08/11/2022 22:13

@CurlyNo2 I had my 38 week appointment today and she checked me so maybe prepare downstairs just incase lol. I did not as wasn’t expecting it 😅

ALittleBitofVitriol · 08/11/2022 22:43

Congratulations @Bramblecrumble22! 💙

Ooh go @WandaVon! How exciting!

And @Eryr22! That's fab! 4cm already well done! Can't be much longer now!

This thread is so fun now, babies everywhere!

I'm on day 6 post caesar. Milk came in day 4, had my baby blues yesterday (no idea why they came later, usually it's day 3) and cried on and off all day. Quite emotional about the cost of pregnancy/birth on my body, not in a vanity way, but in a 'I feel sorry for my poor brutalised body way' lol. Took off the wound dressing and seeing the scar & how delicate it all looks didn't help, they ended up cutting quite a big line as bub was wedged in and it all just feels weird!
Baby did better overnight on the real milk so I got more sleep and feel much more human again today. He is absolutely the sweetest little thing ever.

CurlyNo2 · 08/11/2022 22:53

Oh no! My appointment is at 9.15am and I’ve got the school run beforehand. Looks lm gonna be doing some diy tonight, god knows what it’ll look like as I’m going in blind!

@ALittleBitofVitriol I can’t believe it’s been 6 days. How long did you stay in hospital? I remember the blues very well and it’s no fun at all.

For those who have had c-sections, any advice you can give? Hoping I get a call shortly for my one next week.

Dontbeaneejit · 08/11/2022 23:12

@ALittleBitofVitriol I'm so glad you've said this. Also got my baby blues on day 5 and feeling sorry for myself. I feel better than I did after ds2 but still like I've been hit by a train. My back is really sore and today I've also had a really weird urge to wee again like I did when pregnant. Don't know if just bruised etc down there, whether there's a possibility of a UTI or if it's some nerve damage that needs to heal. Have to take bubs back to midwife tomorrow as jaundice was still present at day 5 so I'm going to mention it and see what she says. Trying so hard to let my body heal and give it time and rest rest rest but I'm soooo impatient. I think maybe we expect the end of pregnancy to mean we snap back into normal but I really have to remind myself that it's not even been a week yet. On the plus side this little girl is so perfect and feeding like an actual dream which I've never had before. Must give myself a break! Our bodies have literally created little miracles. They're awesome

greenerfingers · 09/11/2022 01:00

Tried to have an early night tonight but by 00:30 I'm up fresh as a daisy. No winning!

So sorry to hear youre both going through that @ALittleBitofVitriol and @Dontbeaneejit. I think a part is definitely blues and probably the shock has worn off and you've just gone under major surgery @ALittleBitofVitriol. Give yourself time to come to terms with that and look at others you know who've been through it and have bounced back. Just a few weeks till you'll feel more yourself and your scar settles and fades.

I remember after my son I had no idea what a prolapse was but soon learnt what a mini prolapse was and couldn't believe it @Dontbeaneejit. Really got me down but it did pull back up (not totally all the way but mostly I didn't do the exercises), and healed slowly over time. If you're having issues and it's not a uti maybe just give yourself a few weeks for the tissue to tighten and the swelling to reduce. Hopefully it passes, it's very normal for the bladder to feel different, especially the first few months.

I'm just rambling as I lay here wide awake now with the other half asleep
