Congratulations @NotAdultingToday! 💙💙💙 hope you're recovering well!

@Eryr22 aww it's tough to go overdue. One way or another that baby will be here soon, can't stay in there forever! Fwiw, my biggest baby (9 1/2 lbs) was by far my easiest birth.

Lol @roobearbaby, have fun!

Good luck @mjb0616! Bubs will be in your arms so soon!

Beanniebaby22 · 07/11/2022 21:47

I don’t get the whole sizing by their weight. Surely different babies have different builds? Some might have longer legs for example but still be within the weight so a newborn size onesie might not fit, but a vest would be ok?
It’s hard to know.

mjb0616 · 07/11/2022 22:26

Congratulations @NotAdultingToday ! I hope you are recovering well 💗

Our baby was born at 2.15 ELCS 7lb 2oz. Just about to try and get some sleep now

After all the talk of potatoes on here that was my first meal after I recovered 🤣

mjb0616 · 07/11/2022 22:27

@Beanniebaby22 yes! Our babies weight is not massive but he is so long his newborn grows are already a stretch! We have some 0-3 months here also so can use those too

CurlyNo2 · 07/11/2022 22:31

@mjb0616 congratulations!! I hope it all went well for you and you manage to get some sleep.

Wowzers these babies are coming in thick and fast! So exciting!!

Im going to try and get some sleep, but I’ve got a lot of lower back pain this evening so I’ll probably see those in the insomnia club later on around 3.00am!

LOL I love it. Potatoes for the win. And congratulations on safe delivery of your little one 😊

greenerfingers · 07/11/2022 22:53

Aww congratulations @mjb0616 ! Enjoy the cuddles 🥰

Imagine I'd gone for the elective c section I was being pressured into @TFMinx. I'd have been livid haha. All that for a 7lber! And that's a good idea with the clothes, I've done the same. I had more newborn stuff but I exchanged them for up to 1 month as I'm certain they'll come into use at some point and if I need more smaller clothes my hubby can always pop out.

My cervix keeps having stabbing pains today. Not sure if it's soreness post surgery or what. Don't remember this with my first.

See you in the club no one wants to be in @CurlyNo2. Hope the back pain eases!

VolcanicProtectorMan · 08/11/2022 00:14

I’m so done. My arm has started really hurting again (not sure if any of you remember from the flu jab I had 11 days ago) after settling down initially after 3 days. So I can barely move it. On top of this I’m getting pelvic pain so I can hardly walk, plus my DD is ill, again, having had constant illnesses in the house for the past month. I don’t see how I can ever go into labour, between the excruciating arm pain and illnesses. The pelvic pain is just the icing on the cake. Currently awake as DD is coughing in bed and I’m on edge in case I have to ‘rush’ in if she makes herself sick (as she did last night). My DH is useless and is not even stirring when she coughs so it’s down to me, again. I don’t think he understands just how much pain I am actually in. Our house move is encountering problems as well and it’s just so stressful atm. At this point I don’t even know why I am having a second child. I dread the newborn days as I detested them last time, but having him out would at least hopefully ease the pelvic pain and mean I can take more painkillers to help my arm.

SUSB2016 · 08/11/2022 00:38

@VolcanicProtectorMan bless you and your DD- my DD has been the same! We are both down with a terrible cold atm and I'm booked for a sweep later this week...I feel SO unprepared. Tantrums all day and crap sleep at night. Not ideal but we will get through it and so will you and your DD! Sending positive vibes x

Beanniebaby22 · 08/11/2022 01:57

Wide awake again 🤦🏽‍♀️ Anyone else up?

CurlyNo2 · 08/11/2022 02:43

I’m here @Beanniebaby22 😩

sarahj878 · 08/11/2022 02:56

I’m here wide awake! Just finished cleaning spree 😂

Congratulations @NotAdultingToday and @mjb0616 xx

CurlyNo2 · 08/11/2022 02:59

Wow @sarahj878 thats impressive. I still haven’t found my mojo yet.

I think baby has moved as I have quite intense rib pain tonight. I’m on the sofa now and I wish I would have brought more pillows down but can’t be arsed going back upstairs.

OtiMama · 08/11/2022 03:58

Awake here too and feeling a bit sick. Argh so annoying. I've got slight cramps and backache, again probably means nothing!

@mjb0616 congratulations! Hope you've managed to get some sleep.

@CurlyNo2 hope you can get comfy. I hate that now when you've forgotten something and have to move again, it's so much effort nowadays 😂

@VolcanicProtectorMan sorry you're having such a hard time of it. It does sound like its just too much at once. I hope both you and your daughter have got some sleep now. I also have the snoring unaware type of husband here! How convenient for them.

greenerfingers · 08/11/2022 04:00

I'm here too, shattered and eyes stinking but what can you do?

@VolcanicProtectorMan sorry to hear that, my son was the same and I put him in my bed for two days. It was too much going back and forth and my husband can (and has) slept through an earthquake. Hope you both feel better soon and I too fear the newborn phase but hopefully this baby is easier and having our bodies back helps!

@sarahj878 well done! I stayed up late cleaning things that don't really need cleaning. Nesting needs to calm down now.

greenerfingers · 08/11/2022 04:08

Stinging**

Didn't even have a reason to wake, went to pee and don't even need it.

TFMinx · 08/11/2022 04:14

Hello fellow insomniacs! I've been awake for an hour now. Woke up to go to the loo then checked the heating wasn't on as I'm absolutely boiling. No heating, so it's just me; too hot under the duvet and a bit too cold out of it - even half and half isn't working.

I'm getting really bad hip pain from laying on my side, which is what's causing me to wake up I think. Can't wait to sleep on my back or my front!

NotAdultingToday · 08/11/2022 04:57

Thank you all for you messages its been a whirl wind thats for sure! I never expected to have an early baby!
We are both doing ok, it took me what felt like 3 hours to settle him last night, i was falling asleep standing! But did love the cuddles and luckily so far he is not a screamer.
I just jolted awake and tried to sit up, that was a bad move 😂 but otherwise so far doing ok!

@mjb0616 congratulations birth date buddies! I hope you managed to sleep ok!

I actually gave a small baby give that he was 7lbs some of the up to 1 months i have are too big on him and 0-3 def are. Its so weird ds1 was all limbs and so long!

I hope those in the insomnia club are doing ok?

@greenerfingers how are the stabbing pains any better?

@VolcanicProtectorMan bless you that sounds so hard, not being able to take the meds you need is what i found the hardest.
With Dh i just imagined smothering him that helped cheer me up a bit (im not crazy i promise).
I had the same thought as you on the operating table and when he wouldnt settle last night but im so in love he is gorgeous and the cuddles make it all worth it (but ask me again in a few weeks 😂)

@SUSB2016 i hope you both feel better! I was so underprepared yesterday and was like nooo im not ready but it is surprising how much you remember and get back into the flow

@TFMinx i cant wait to be able to go back to sleeping on my front it feels so naughty to be on my back! But i can and theres no pressure! Im so empty its amazing!

roobearbaby · 08/11/2022 05:26

Hi to those awake!! No reason to be awake other than being a living radiator 😂

wibblewobbleball · 08/11/2022 05:44

Congratulations on the new babies!!! So jealous Grin

I've been awake for the last two hours on and off crying because I am so totally done with pregnancy. My carpal tunnel is so painful and uncomfortable, ditto my hips when trying to sleep and I am just all over sick of sharing my body that I could scream! I am going to ask to be induced this week as I just cannot stand any more, and if I don't I could have over two weeks left. I was induced with my first as I was two weeks over so I don't exactly feel enthused about suffering on in the hope of spontaneous labour when this pregnancy will likely just end in induction anyway. I honestly feel like my body is falling apart and I'm so depressed Sad

CurlsnLipstick · 08/11/2022 05:51

Congratulations @NotAdultingToday!! Such good news.

I've read the thread but too exhausted to reply. All those in pain and fed up. Take heart, not long to go.
Going in for my induction today and been super emotional. Not a wink of sleep tonight. Think it's just nerves. About to dose off now. ❤️

TFMinx · 08/11/2022 07:07

Congratulations @NotAdultingToday and all who've had babies I might have missed, my apologies.

greenerfingers · 08/11/2022 07:19

Best of luck today @CurlsnLipstick, hope it's a smooth and effective induction.

Poor you @NotAdultingToday, don't know how you're standing post surgery. Any idea when you'll be home and able go get help?

The weird stinging stabbing pain comes more when I sit. I feel super dry down there. So bizarre.

I've been losing clear sticky mucus yesterday, much more like a plug than what I was having before BUT realisation dawned this morning it could be from my wound inside 😩 and just clearing out.

roobearbaby · 08/11/2022 09:32

Good luck to mamas getting induced/delivering today 💝

Bramblecrumble22 · 08/11/2022 10:03

I gave birth at 3am! Was a really positive physiological birth. Been feeling crampy since the weekend. 11:30, decided it was definitely contractions and they came thick and fast but was a little in denial so waited 20 minutes before calling for childcare, drove to hospital. Put tens on at home.
I was examined in the birth center by. I thought baby had dropped past few days as I was smaller but I'd actually lost my waters at some point. And I was 2cm dilated at examination, must have been 1am or later. Pain was all in my back, except when a probe was on my lower abdomen. On call midwife was called in And she ran me a bath. I was mostly on my knees lying top half this cube thing. Was in the bath for minutes, then needed to push so went to the toilet. Midwife tried to do some paperwork but I had to get off the toilet to give birth. After the head was being delivered I was encouraged to feel him coming out. the contractions were painful but the pushing actually felt great, dispite some tearing from his hand being up by his face. Gas and air plus codine pain relief. He's not been measured but he was got a small head. He's 3.2 kg, accurate to growth scans. Oh and I vomited everywhere including down the gas and air thing.
