Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
TFMinx · 07/11/2022 10:23

Tell me more about the dates in milk please, I haven't heard of that

CurlyNo2 · 07/11/2022 10:41

Oh ladies! I feel you…. Hopefully won’t be much longer for you all.

Do you all know what you’re having or are they surprise babies? Mine is a surprise baby.

I was told on the school run this morning that I look really pregnant in my face as the fluid has got to it! 🙈 I mean I admit that I’ve put about 3 stone on in my face alone but you don’t say it out loud!

Im praying for a phone call from the hospital with a ELCS date for next week. I’m so done.

I had good intentions of cleaning up today but all I have done is say on the sofa watching this morning eating chocolate hobnobs!

TFMinx · 07/11/2022 10:50

I'm having a girl. We have DS and he's so excited to be a big brother 🥰

Eryr22 · 07/11/2022 11:06

6 days overdue and no sign! 😕
I'm also getting a bit concerned about her size. She should be measuring about 9lb 1oz based off a scan I had a few weeks ago but nobody had mentioned a caesarean...

roobearbaby · 07/11/2022 11:50

I'm aiming for a full oxytocin boost today. Lying in bed harvesting colostrum and watching Love Actually! Hubby is working at home today so might jump him when he breaks for lunch 🤣

WandaVon · 07/11/2022 11:58

@Eryr22 Same here. I'm 38+3 today. 36 week scan was 7.3lb. Clinic last Wednesday was 7.11lb. Yikes! I have GD so I'm being booked for induction at clinic this Wednesday. I really didn't want one after having a huge PPH with my first. But hoping this will be a more positive experience.

I'm having a boy. Already have a girl so I'm thrilled. She's almost 23 months, though, so I think we're going to have a difficult transition with her.

mjb0616 · 07/11/2022 12:04

We are just here waiting for our C-section to begin in an hour or so, really nervous now! But almost time to meet the baby so fingers crossed all goes well 😊

Sending thoughts to all those on the thread hoping today is the day with your births! Flowers

Beanniebaby22 · 07/11/2022 12:24

@mjb0616 good luck for your c section, hope all goes well 😊

tb4122 · 07/11/2022 12:39

@WandaVon very similar to you- my growth scan at 36 weeks predicted 7lb1oz and I'm now 38w2d. I have no other growth scans planned and nobody seems concerned about baby's size but I don't have GD so maybe the criteria are different? I'm a bit concerned that if he puts on 0.5lb a week he's potentially already 8lb and could continue cooking for another 3.5 week yet.

curlywurly10 · 07/11/2022 12:50

wow so many babies arrived while i was gone, congratulations to everyone who has had their baby!! hope you're all doing well

how strange! i came on today and seen all this jacket potato talk after dreaming about a jacket potato 😂😂 maybe a sign to take a walk to the store and buy one🤔

went on full nesting mode yesterday and got everything done, i think i done too much though as i'm paying for it today in aches and pains but i'm really glad i got a lot of it done and can spend today somewhat relaxed.

greenerfingers · 07/11/2022 12:52

Well it's done something @TFMinx !! This worked last time for me too but then I took it right at 40 weeks and laboured the next day. This time I'm starting earlier just to soften the cervix.

So dates are proven to soften elasticity of the cervix to make the second part of labour easier, it also has a warming effect on the body so can induce your menses if late or labour. I warmed up a big glass of milk on the pan, and added 7 mejdoul dates and heated them till they softened, then drank the milk and ate the soft dates (not usually a fan of milk or dates ha!) but I forced the sickly sweet drink down. An hour later and my mucus plus has come out in a blob. It's not all of it but it's definitely the plug and I also felt the baby move down. I'll probably drink this daily for a week. Even if I don't go into labour at least the pushing stage should be easier and faster.

TFMinx · 07/11/2022 13:14

Wow, I've never heard that before, thanks @greenerfingers

NotAdultingToday · 07/11/2022 15:32

Ds2 is here (no name yet!) 7lbs 6 born at 12:21pm 😊
Semi emergency csection because of bleeding and his position but alot more chilled than the last time. We are both ok just tired and in shock 😂

CurlyNo2 · 07/11/2022 15:39

Yay! @NotAdultingToday congratulations, that’s fantastic news! Hope you’re both doing ok!

greenerfingers · 07/11/2022 15:45

Aww congratulations @NotAdultingToday ! What a lovely surprise. Hope you're both doing well xx

Beanniebaby22 · 07/11/2022 16:07

Oh my goodness @NotAdultingToday not what you were expecting to happen today! Congratulations 😊

WandaVon · 07/11/2022 16:13

Huge congratulations @NotAdultingToday . We're due date buddies so I'm VERY jealous.

@tb4122 It's crazy, isn't it? Is this your first or do you have others? My daughter was 8lb12.5oz at 39+5 (induced) so I knew I wouldn't be having a small baby, but I'm hoping that this one won't go too far over 9lb if I'm induced before term. Although I didn't have GD in my last pregnancy. I don't know. But I'm a bit more anxious about it every day. The discomfort isn't helping. I'm ready to evict.

TFMinx · 07/11/2022 16:30

Fab news @NotAdultingToday congratulations!

curlywurly10 · 07/11/2022 17:40

congratulations @NotAdultingToday 😊🥳

tb4122 · 07/11/2022 17:53

@WandaVon it's my first. Bump isn't massive but it seems that doesn't necessarily mean much. I know the scans can be inaccurate so I'm trying not to fixate on him being big. The midwife said it doesn't necessarily mean he will be massive, just not to expect a tiny baby. I'm now thinking about the newborn outfits I've got in my bag that are for up to 7lbs5oz and wondering whether I need to order some more 0-1 month ones to take with us.

OtiMama · 07/11/2022 18:54

@tb4122 Tesco do up to 1 month or John Lewis newborn is up to 9lb.

I've got a final scan next week at nearly my due date so will be interested to see the estimate size for my baby! I agree it isn't hugely accurate.

@NotAdultingToday huge congratulations, hope you are feeling OK. Glad baby is here.

greenerfingers · 07/11/2022 19:43

@tb4122 mine was predicted 10lb so got newborn and clothing which started at 7.5-8lbs. Baby came at 7lb and drowned in everything. Had to go out and buy tiny baby. I'd say have a pack ready and don't open it till after baby is born (next are easy going with exchanges). If baby is large then just exchange later and use one of the larger sizes. If the baby is small at least you have something

tb4122 · 07/11/2022 21:01

@greenerfingers that's quite a difference to be "out" by 3lbs!

I've got some newborn suits that are up to 7lbs, some up to 7lbs5oz and then a couple of 0-1 month suits in my bag so hopefully we've got what we'll need. Might get a few more 0-1 month just in case, they'll either fit straight away or he'll grow into them.

Bubblegum20 · 07/11/2022 21:29

Aw congratulations @ALittleBitofVitriol

Bubblegum20 · 07/11/2022 21:30

Sorry that was meant to say congratulations @NotAdultingToday 😂
