Congratulations @1mel90! Hope your recovery is going well x

Im in full on nesting mode today. Feel like the house is a tip but I know it’s not really, planning a full day of cleaning tomorrow after which I’m sure I’ll feel better.

Got through the mountain of laundry today thank goodness.

Packed baby’s bag tonight and begin to put my stuff together ready to be packed tomorrow. All beginning to feel real now! Am much more organised than when my son arrived early and I didn’t have a thing packed.

Got pregnancy insomnia yet am shattered because when I do sleep I’m getting up to wee every other hour, anyone else up? Has anyone started hand expressing? I’ve not started but plan to tomorrow.

I'm up!! Also in nesting mode. Just finished ironing a whole load of clothes much to my surprise. Apart from pregnancy insomnia I just cannot stop eating. Went for 36 week growth scan and the estimated weight of the baby is already 6.1bs!!! Eeeek

feistymumma · 07/11/2022 02:05

sarahj878 · 07/11/2022 01:59

@Beanniebaby22 me too! I am literally sat here deciding if eating cheese on toast at two in the morning is sensible 😂 sorry to hear you had hyperemesis!

Hahahaha I'm contemplating a full jacket potato with all the works. Made one in the middle of the night the other day and it was literally heaven. I also have not had any appetite whatsoever and up to 34 weeks weighed exactly what I weighed at booking. I think I have probably gained about 10lbs these past couple of weeks

CurlyNo2 · 07/11/2022 02:08

I’m also up!

I’ve been getting regular stomach tightnings but I don’t think they’re anything to get excited about just yet. Also feel a bit wishy-washy but so hungry.

Beanniebaby22 · 07/11/2022 02:17

@feistymumma Ive a growth scan on Tuesday! Worried with all the eating I’ve done these last few weeks he’s going to be massive!

CurlyNo2 · 07/11/2022 02:21

@feistymumma i had a growth scan at 37+1 on Fri and baby was measuring 7.6lb. Consultant told me not to worry as this could be out due to sonographer variability. Not taking any chances so c-section is booked 😁

sarahj878 · 07/11/2022 02:40

@feistymumma haha I could definitely eat a jacket with coleslaw and beans right now after you’ve said that 😂 sorry to hear you’ve struggled with appetite (also a teeny bit jealous of your minor weight gain tho!)

@CurlyNo2 have you been given a date for section?

NotAdultingToday · 07/11/2022 02:41

Hey wide awake club, im currently in hospital as i started bleeding and lost some mucus, baby is all ok grumpy for being prodded judging by how he was kicking me!
They are keeping me in for observation but as he is still transverse if i start contracting i will need an emcs.
The midwife did say that she cant see me being allowed to go to the 14th (when my elective is) if i keep bleeding. So shit, im not ready! I have so much i still need to do! (And a full washing basket that was empty saturday!)

Im feeling very emotional leaving ds1 who went to sleep snuggled in to me and will wake up and im not there and when dh left as i didnt want him to go. So soppy! I just want it to be over now and be at home

Aaaaawwww that must have been such a shock for everything to happen so quickly but good thing is that you are in the right place for you and baby to be taken care of. Thinking of you and wishing you well. We might have new baby by early morning.

NotAdultingToday · 07/11/2022 02:53

Awww thank you! That is very true and the staff have all been lovely so i am feeling looked after
I know i kept saying i wanted him out but i didnt really mean it 🤦🏼‍♀️😂

CurlyNo2 · 07/11/2022 02:56

@NotAdultingToday Sorry things are a bit rough for you right now. Praying baby arrives quickly so you can get back to your son. In terms of being ready, are we ever ready?

@sarahj878 My original ELCS date is 25th Nov but from Fridays appointment, she wants me in anytime from 17th but no slots so just waiting on a cancellation to come through.

I think baby has definitely moved. It was lying more to the side with legs to the other side but now it feels like it’s in the centre almost like perfect position. Still getting frequent tightenings but they are so random and no pattern. Think I’m gonna go and make breakfast no 1 of the day.

OtiMama · 07/11/2022 02:58

@NotAdultingToday I am glad you are being looked after well. I can imagine when you have a section booked you just start to think that's the date baby will come and you have that time, so things must feel thrown out now. Hope you can be home again soon.

I'm also awake, swear my husband coming to bed ridiculously late is what stirs me and then I realise I need a wee and can't get back to sleep after. Baby has now decided to be super active and I've got cramps, joy!

NotAdultingToday · 07/11/2022 03:00

@CurlyNo2 i think the limbo of not knowing whats going to happen is half the problem. But we shall see!
Haha that is very true no i dont think we are!

If you do go enjoy breakfast number one 😊

NotAdultingToday · 07/11/2022 03:02

@OtiMama thats exactly it! I had a date and i planned for it. Just goes to show babies do what they like!

Oh no hopefully baby goes back to sleep soon, id make hubby go and sleep on the sofa punishment for waking you up!

OP posts:
CurlyNo2 · 07/11/2022 03:43

Settled for some toast and a glass of milk. Wide awake now and doubtful I’ll get back to sleep tonight.

@OtiMama oh no, hope you’ve managed to get back to sleep. My husband is a night owl too, but it’s his snoring that wakes me up. I’d get in bed with my son but there wouldn’t be much room for us both. I’ve got the blanket ready on the couch just in case.

Elle1709 · 07/11/2022 05:31

@NotAdultingToday good luck, im glad your getting the best care. I hope you manage to get some rest in the hospital.

I'm awake as well. Think I've had around 2 hours sleep tonight. Finding this new motherhood experience really hard due to the lack of sleep. Baby is 1 week old tomorrow and doing great, but for some reason will not settle no matter what between around 8-2am. Not sure what to do!

All these lovely food ideas are making me hungry haha, I still look very pregnant 😅 x

greenerfingers · 07/11/2022 05:44

Aww @NotAdultingToday I'm sorry you had a bit of a shock! I really hope you get seen quickly and have a really straight forward procedure and are back to LO1 in no time.

@CurlyNo2 I'm 37 weeks today and only wish my baby was that big so I could pop it out this week without any guilt 🤣.

All you hunger club ladies that's been me for months and now suddenly the last week I've lost my cravings and me appetite. Total opposite going on here. Body is always clearing out too. Wish it would lose the lbs though?! I definitely think it's prepping and gearing itself up but that could be weeks yet who knows. Hubby keeps asking if I were a betting lady when I'd bed my delivery to be.. like I know?! My first I was told would go into spontaneous labour at 24 weeks and was in hospital constantly on bedrest. He came at 39+6 Grin. This one they predicted 37 weeks and it's very cosy right now. Hope it does prove me wrong though and is here by 38. I'm up because I needed the loo and I never wake for that. I normally wake just to pee. Really bizarre!

For all those with no nesting urges again I wish I were the same, it's stormy and wet here and all I want to do is clear the garden. I know I'll do it tmrw too and get soaked. Wish I could control this crazy crazy ocd. My body is shattered but it doesn't know how to stop.

@OtiMama your boy just turned 2, who cares about the house?! Can it ever stay clean at that age. Mine is older and only now I can just about maintain it a day at a time with constant cleaning.

@CurlsnLipstick here's counting on the moon's pull then for the both of us 🌝

Beanniebaby22 · 07/11/2022 06:58

@CurlyNo2 @OtiMama still awake and have now relocated to the sofa 🙄 DP came to bed really late and Is snoring away sound asleep.

@feistymumma @sarahj878 God now I really want a jacket potato 🤣

@NotAdultingToday oh no that’s scary! Hope things settle down and you get to go home again. These babies know how to keep us on our toes!

@Elle1709 ahh that will be all of us soon, wide awake with newborns instead of pregnancy discomfort! I have no advice as I’m a first time mum and haven’t a clue! But you have my sympathy, lack of sleep is hard.

I Keep feeling pressure and discomfort/pain in my lower abdomen. Not sure if it’s just pressure of baby on my bladder. I’ve obviously no idea what a contraction feels like so don’t know when I should start to be concerned 😅

mjb0616 · 07/11/2022 07:05

@NotAdultingToday I'm sorry to hear you have had to go into hospital, but as others have said you are in the best place being monitored. Really hope that everything is okay and your baby settles soon Flowers

Bramblecrumble22 · 07/11/2022 07:12

I'm so pissed off with myself. I hate the car seat we have for baby. Very upright, used it 4 years ago. Last night I saw a good one for £170 down from £240 but my husband was asleep so I didn't buy it before talking to him. Now it's back up at full price.

CurlsnLipstick · 07/11/2022 07:32

@NotAdultingToday I hope the bleeding stopped and you're back home with LO? Ikwym about not feeling ready. Hope everything resolves itself.

@Bramblecrumble22 lol it's always the case in the odd hours of the night. Discuss it with him and if it comes up again don't think twice.

@Elle1709 the lack of sleep really messed with me as a FTM! It's especially the worst when you're exhausted and body naturally wants to shut down at between 10pm-4am.
If you have support, then try get someone to stay with baby the hours you're most exhausted and they get to sleep in.
It really does get better in terms of sleep after a couple weeks.

Lol, the sudden food cravings! Thankfully had jacket potatoes recently so no craving. Just had weetabix with banana & grapes. First time I've had weetabix this pregnancy. Hit the spot!

greenerfingers · 07/11/2022 08:11

@Bramblecrumble22 I got a second hand one with iOS fix. Didn't think it worth the money for the first year car seat. If stuff like that doesn't bother you you can always check online.

@Elle1709 do you have a partner to help? My son didn't sleep well at all for first 2 years but the first few weeks felt like mental torture. Are you beast or bottle feeding? I started trying to sleep while I breastfed in 20 min power naps and my husband would try and take him too. It will get easier because baby will settle or you'll adapt to needing less sleep. Even now my body clock rises early no matter what, I just don't need much sleep anymore.

roobearbaby · 07/11/2022 09:48

Come on baby. Time to get the hell out of me now.

Mission induce labour starts today. I'm done with pregnancy now 🤣🤣

Snap! So done!

TFMinx · 07/11/2022 10:05

Oh count me in @roobearbaby I've tried everything! A friend made me the most delicious authentic Indian curry and brought it over yesterday. Nothing. Cleaned the downstairs of my house. Nothing. Actually managed to have sex. Nothing. Baby is far too comfortable for my liking! Our DS came into our room this morning and announced that he thinks baby will come today - I hope he's right!

greenerfingers · 07/11/2022 10:11

I've started my dates in warm milk to soften the cervix so less chance of tearing. So sickly sweet but hope it helps. P.s curries need to be a daily occurrence for the spice to start induction 🤣
