So we finally had our baby boy on 03.11.2022 @ 00.17 weighing 10lb it was a pretty traumatic labour, ended up in theatre straight after for 3 hours.. but all that being said we’re both healthy and home and recovering slowly whilst enjoying lots and lots of cuddles and family time.. this group thread has really helped me throughout my entire pregnancy after two losses prior to this I was continuously worried over every little thing but found others posting things helped realise it was all normal ect so as much as I never commented much I’d been following this thread right from the off so want to thank you all and wish you all the best with your little babies.. xxx

dreamcatchmee · 06/11/2022 09:23

@1mel90 congratulations, I hope you recover soon. Sending lots of love to you all

dreamcatchmee · 06/11/2022 09:26

@roobearbaby aw I get this from people, I just usually respond that I'm a mixture of excited and nervous and move the conversation on swiftly.
Sounds like you're doing a great job keeping a nice positive mind :)

CurlyNo2 · 06/11/2022 09:29

Oh how wonderful @1mel90 congratulations! I’m sorry to hear things were a bit rough for you.

@greenerfingers Im so glad you finally got your procedure done!

Hope everyone else is well. I’m really hoping the nesting instinct kicks in shortly as my house is a shit tip but I have no motivation to move. Maybe tomorrow….

My 6 year old wasn’t very well yesterday, he’s normally very well so never have to worry in that respect. But it made me remember how much of a worry it is with a newborn (are they too hot/cold?, Is that rash normal? Does their breathing sound ok? Etc).

ALittleBitofVitriol · 06/11/2022 09:32

Congratulations @1mel90! So glad your (big!) little man is here safe! Sorry to hear it was rough & you needed surgery, hope you're okay and recover well. Be gentle with yourself. 💙

CurlsnLipstick · 06/11/2022 10:10

Awww congratulations @1mel90 on your little one. Sorry to hear about your experience and glad to hear your enjoying family time and cuddles 💐🎉

Eryr22 · 06/11/2022 10:18

Aw wow congratulations @1mel90 what a little chunk! ❤️

OtiMama · 06/11/2022 12:00

Congratulations @1mel90 - sounds like you've done amazingly with the birth. Hope you aren't feeling too bad and can rest at home.

@CurlyNo2 I am with you on lack of motivation to tidy my pigsty of a home. Even when I do my toddler just ruins it but I just have no energy, although I have that nesting instinct that I want it sorted but u just don't do it. I reckon if I didn't have a toddler I could easily lie in bed most the day at the moment. I am making sure I rest when he naps otherwise I just struggle now.

I hope your son is feeling better too. I realise I have clearly forgotten a lot of the tougher things about having a newborn, I guess that's why I'm here doing it again haha I feel like I'm actually less mentally prepared second time round.

Having a slow day here after doing a quick shop this morning. We went out last night for my birthday dinner just the two of us, child free which was lovely. I massaged my bump with almond oil and clary sage last night. Just got so crampy but not sure it did much else. Ever wishful!

rickandmorts · 06/11/2022 12:34

Congrats @1mel90 on your wee chunk!!!

@CurlyNo2 my house is also a shit tip and actually getting me down now 😭. Need to get doors put on upstairs, fit nursery curtains/ bookshelf and put away loads of baby stuff into it's wardrobe. I know it'll be in my bedroom for 6 months but mentally I just want the nursery finished. Am I doing any of that today though? No I'm cleaning the fucking windows which is an exhausting job 🙈 but it is nice being able to see out of them again!!!

Bubblegum20 · 06/11/2022 12:55

Thank you @ALittleBitofVitriol

It got cancelled today as they didn't have enough beds, they must be busy! So I've been told I'm still on the list but to call my midwife tomorrow and try and get a sweep done as they don't think there'll be a bed until later in the week as there's a few people waiting before me!

Congrats @1mel90 glad you're both recovering well, enjoy your newborn cuddles

greenerfingers · 06/11/2022 13:59

Congratulations @1mel90! Go you for carrying and getting him out. Hope you both have a smooth recovery and plenty of rest.

TFMinx · 06/11/2022 17:41

I've been cleaning the downstairs today and have just had a very spicy curry in the hopes of bringing on labour. Please, please let labour start soon!

CurlyNo2 · 06/11/2022 17:52

I’m so happy to hear that others are like me and also have houses that are shit tips 🤣 I’m definitely going to try and do something tomorrow. Our dining room/kitchen hurts my head every time I walk into the room as there is so much to do and tidy, it’s so overwhelming.

@TFMinx Oh fingers crossed you have movement soon! Baby must be far too comfy in there.

Does anybody know if it’s still recommended to use the birthing ball if you are having a planned c-section?

roobearbaby · 06/11/2022 20:22

OMG ladies, I feel like the baby is trying to claw his way out of my bum (sorry TMI) . So uncomfortable 😣

VolcanicProtectorMan · 06/11/2022 20:27

@roobearbaby I’ve had this the past two days, so uncomfortable. I told my DH it feels like my bumhole is going to turn inside out! 😂 I don’t remember this from my DD!

greenerfingers · 06/11/2022 20:36

Another one for the weird rectal pressure. Did not have this with no.1 either. Was hoping it means labour is soon (wishful thinking 😂)

Bramblecrumble22 · 06/11/2022 20:54

Due date today...no signs of labour. Few extra WhatsApp messages. I declined a sweep last Tuesday but have a midwife appointment tomorrow, I think I'll ask for one as it is getting uncomfortable. I've run out of dates and raspberry leaf tea. Baby dropped more in the night. I can put my whole hand between my boobs and my bump. Fortunately my pelvic pain I had earlier this week/last week has gone but getting back and bum cheek pain. And I'm not sure when I wee that I'm fully emptying my bladder, it's a slow trickle very often.

By the time I've finished this message baby seems to have risen 'popped out' again.

Also no nesting instinct, enjoying spending time with my 4yo. Surprised I got to do her first parents evening this week after school.

@1mel90 woah 10lb. So glad this thread has been a help.

roobearbaby · 06/11/2022 20:55

Nothing beats a bit of bum pressure solidarity 🤣.

Hopefully it means baby is getting lower down 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

CurlsnLipstick · 06/11/2022 22:24

I called the ward as I'm to go in for an induction tomorrow but didn't know what time. Apparently it could be any time and they'll ring me. Tomorrow doesn't look likely as beds are full.
Is November a popular month?

@Bramblecrumble22 I think I'm experiencing the same thing. Baby keeps popping back up when I lie down or sit at an angle. As soon as I stand/walk - fully engaged. It's a wonder they haven't fallen out with all the pressure I feel.

Elle1709 · 06/11/2022 22:30

@1mel90 congratulations. Hope your recovery is going well x

greenerfingers · 06/11/2022 23:48

Apparently the full moon is coming @CurlsnLipstick and the pull messes with amniotic fluid 😂. No seriously I read that today but jokes aside they found labour wards tended to get overworked near a full moon. Wonder if it's all in the health staffs heads or if it's a real deal 🐺

Hope you do get seen tomorrow though and it goes well!

CurlsnLipstick · 07/11/2022 00:59

Funny enough I can believe that @greenerfingers. A lady in healthcare, told me most people have sudden onset of various diseases/disorders like diabetes and hypertension during a full moon. Interesting eh?
Thanks, hope I do too! My oesophagus is non existent at this point from the acid. Not sure I can take any more corrosion.

sarahj878 · 07/11/2022 01:36

Congratulations @1mel90! Hope your recovery is going well x

Im in full on nesting mode today. Feel like the house is a tip but I know it’s not really, planning a full day of cleaning tomorrow after which I’m sure I’ll feel better.

Got through the mountain of laundry today thank goodness.

Packed baby’s bag tonight and begin to put my stuff together ready to be packed tomorrow. All beginning to feel real now! Am much more organised than when my son arrived early and I didn’t have a thing packed.

Got pregnancy insomnia yet am shattered because when I do sleep I’m getting up to wee every other hour, anyone else up? Has anyone started hand expressing? I’ve not started but plan to tomorrow.

Beanniebaby22 · 07/11/2022 01:43

@sarahj878 yes I am up. Ditto wanting to clean and needing to pee all the time. I am also all of a sudden ravenous! First 30 weeks I could hardly eat a thing (hyperemesis and lost my appetite) and now I could eat a big meal and feel starving again 2 hours later, so weird!

sarahj878 · 07/11/2022 01:59

@Beanniebaby22 me too! I am literally sat here deciding if eating cheese on toast at two in the morning is sensible 😂 sorry to hear you had hyperemesis!
