dreamcatchmee · 04/11/2022 08:05

@feistymumma I'm glad I'm not alone haha!

CurlyNo2 · 04/11/2022 09:05

Hope everyone is well.

I’ve got what I think will be my final
growth scan and consultant appointment today to find out if I’m definitely having a c-section and if they will bring my date forward from 40+1 due to babies size.

@greenerfingers What a shit show from the hospital. I’m sorry you’ve been left like that. To just suggest you will have a EMCS like it’s not a big deal if awful.

@Eryr22 Good luck, hopefully you’ll get some further movement shortly.

Has anybody else getting the ‘have you not had that baby yet?’ Or ‘wow you’re huge’ every day on the school run. It’s really wearing thin with me now and pissing me off!

Eryr22 · 04/11/2022 09:15

@ALittleBitofVitriol I took your advice last night and feel a million times better for it!

@CurlyNo2 yes!! The ones that are annoying me the most are the ones that when I tell them nope, baby isn't here yet, will proceed to give me loads of advice on what I need to do to hurry things along and give me an anatomy lesson on my body!! As if I haven't done any reading myself and have no idea what's happening to me! ARGH! Don't know if it's hormones or if it really is just facking annoying!! I can cope with a "oh no! Thinking of you! Hopefully won't be too long", it's quite nice actually!

TFMinx · 04/11/2022 13:01

@CurlyNo2 I had loads of messages yesterday asking if she'd made her appearance yet. Well obviously not, otherwise I'd have told you, argh! Also the parents on school run who I've never spoken to before, coming up to me and asking how much longer? You poor thing etc etc

CurlyNo2 · 04/11/2022 14:13

Glad it’s not just me then!

Had my growth scan today and baby looks to be weighing 7.6lb at 37+1. Growth has tailored off now, so where I was off the chart, I’m around 90th centile now.

Met with the consultant straight afterwards and given I had a shoulder dystocia with my son who was 8.2lb and smaller than this baby (he was born 40+5). We have made the decision I will have c-section at 39 weeks. She wants me in from 17th Nov but no slots yet. She will call me with any cancellations that come up. If I go into labour on my own, I’ll be treated as EMCS.

Feel really mixed emotions, I know this is for the best as everything went wrong with my sons birth, but I think once I get my head around it, I’ll feel better about the decision.

OtiMama · 04/11/2022 17:21

Also in the feeling much more hungry club!

I have tried to avoid telling lots of people the due date, I guess being a second baby too people are just less fussed. Also my bump is so small I get the opposite and people think I've got months to go. That is kinda annoying though as I'm getting slow and tired and I don't think people appreciate I want to do less as they forget I'm due soon.

@CurlyNo2 I hope you have some time to process the plans but at least you know what is coming up now. Fingers crossed you make it to the date!

I really am feeling exhausted today, we've had two days full of stuff and people over. I could go to bed now. Its my birthday tomorrow but right now I will probably just prefer a quiet day at home than anything else!

@smiles39 how annoying! How are you feeling now?

@Dontbeaneejit congratulations! Back to back is so hard and painful! I ended up with an emergency csection as ds1 was stuck, you did amazingly!

@SUSB2016 i am alternating between excitement, what the hell am i doing? And wondering how ds would be

@OtiMama im glad your son enjoyed his settling in session, it makes it so much easier doesnt it? Haha i wouldnt worry ds tells me off for picking him up to early from afterschool club as he is having so much fun 😂

@ALittleBitofVitriol congratulations im glad everything went ok 😊 take all the drugs that is my advice! And move little and often but dont over do it it makes such a difference

@CurlyNo2 i have the nerves! Especially when ds is being cute or we have a nice moment together, then i worry i wont have it with him any more. I think its very normal.
Oh bless you but at least you are prepared and know whats coming

My dad is driving me nuts if i dont answer the phone (we chat everyday but he calls at the wrong time when im picking ds up or driving or just out the door) he texts saying am i in labour? When i text him saying please dont ask every day itll drive me nuts im not even due yet, he now asks to wind me up 🙄 i may kill him soon!

I had loads of messages with ds1 constantly when i went over due and it drove me nuts, thats why i have been vague with the dates this time apart from my closest friends who i whatsapp daily so dont need to ask to me as i will tell them 😂

My cold has moved on to my chest and is driving me nuts i cant stop coughing and im trying everything to soothe it. Its def not covid as i have been testing daily just my shite immune system and not being able to take proper drugs for it.
Today i am just done and fed up
But happy 38 weeks to all those due on 18th 😊

SUSB2016 · 04/11/2022 19:36

Update...DD1's unwell with teething now...like terrible teething which just sends her behaviour haywire and means she is stuck to me like glue 😭 I'm so stressed about leaving her with anyone when I go into labour while she's like this- partly because I feel sorry for whoever will be looking after her. My anxiety is through the roof, no idea how I will cope with a newborn AND a teething toddler. I want to cry.

Beanniebaby22 · 04/11/2022 19:36

Happy 38 weeks! 😊 @NotAdultingToday and I love seeing the birth list filling up. Makes me more excited!

Anyone else going a bit mad with the nesting? I don’t think my house has ever been so clean and organised 😅

Yeah I can't quite believe it's November and the thread I've been following for months actually has births on it now 😱. Although I'm due on the 30th so do I get kicked off to a December thread if I go overdue 🤣?

And no I really want nesting to kick in soon but the nursery is a dumping ground atm 😭. Hoping to get a joiner out next week to put a door on, put the curtains and shelves up and then I feel I can properly sort it out and unpack all the bags of baby stuff I've just been throwing in.

ALittleBitofVitriol · 05/11/2022 00:10

@Elle1709 yes we asked about a wheelchair too and was told the same thing! We decided that walking enough was my test for going home. I managed and we went home last night (<30hours after surgery). Slept so much better. Still sorting out the meds as they prescribed oxycodene instead of tramadol which worked better. Do you have to do blood thinning medication too? I was surprised by that...
The cuddles are the best, I can hardly put him down 🥰

Somethingabitdifferent22 · 05/11/2022 02:52

Hey all

thank you for the advice on the sweep etc the other day!
I did decline my sweep, and also cancelled my scan that they had booked me in for but agreed to see consultant at 41 had I needed too.

that night baby decided he wanted to make his appearance anyway!

3rd baby - I got one niggle of a pain at 12:17 am and rang the ward I knew he was coming, I got to the hospital at 1:35am 5cm - baby was born 2:33am with my third stage of labour lasting a whole 3 minutes!

a whole week early! Due on the 10th came on the 3rd!

congratulations to everyone else who had little bubbas on the same date!

❤️

CurlyNo2 · 05/11/2022 03:19

Oh wow @Somethingabitdifferent22 how amazing! Congratulations!!!

im in the wide awake club again tonight, seems to be around the same time every night. Tonight I’ve woken up so hungry so may go down as I think if I listen to my husband snore any longer I may suffocate him!

greenerfingers · 05/11/2022 07:17

Congratulations @Somethingabitdifferent22 ! What a speedy labour. Hope you have a quick recovery too.

I was up too @CurlyNo2 but too tired to type 🤣.

I hope neither of us get kicked off @rickandmorts and our babies come sooner than later.

How old is your LO @SUSB2016? Do you know if you'll be having a c section or vaginal delivery? Depending on your risk factors and your area, would you consider a home birth?

I'm so tired but my body clock is awake. I can barely walk now without a crutch as my sciatica is soo bad. But my sons party is done yay! Massive relief off of my head and now can focus on trying to get this procedure done and focussing on birth. My house today is a bit cluttered from the party but generally it too has never been this this organised @Beanniebaby22 and I love it. I also know once baby comes it'll be all over the place 😂.

Anyone else struggling with maternity clothes? I'm getting so big now nothing at all fits not even my new stuff. And all my old breastfeeding clothes definitely won't fit post partum.

Beanniebaby22 · 05/11/2022 07:51

@greenerfingers ahh that’s good party is all done now, one less thing to worry about!

Yes struggling with maternity stuff too. I was wearing dresses most of the summer but a bit cold for that now. Wearing baggy T-shirts and leggings about the house. Coat just about closes over me when I venture outside but I look like a potato wearing it Lol.

Im just making do though, too late now to be buying any new stuff.

TFMinx · 05/11/2022 08:33

I'm the same with clothes. My over-bump jeans are all leaving deep ridges in my stomach and some I can no longer get over my thighs 😩. I have to wear my husband's jacket as it's still quite warm here and my maternity coat is a thick fleece lined parka type. I'm so done with this now; due date on Wednesday and I'm praying she comes before then and not a day over!

CurlyNo2 · 05/11/2022 09:03

If your looking for leggings, I can really recommend H&M. I have a pair that cost me £19.99 and I have lived in them. So thick and super comfortable, I just know they’ll be suitable post partum too. Here is the link if anyones interested - www2.hm.com/en_gb/productpage.0834063006.html

mjb0616 · 05/11/2022 09:31

Congratulations @Somethingabitdifferent22 ! That is lovely news and sounds like a really speedy delivery!!

@ALittleBitofVitriol I have my section booked in for Monday, we had the pre-op yesterday and they have told me I will need to take blood thinners for at least 10 days maybe longer depending on how my recovery after is going. I was also quite surprised at this! Hope you are recovering well from your surgery.

Hope all the ladies on this thread are able to have a restful weekend Flowers

@Beanniebaby22 it is lovely to see it filling up i cant believe we are here its gone so quickly (though feel like i have been pregnant forever 😂)

@rickandmorts not at all stay with us 😊 or you can join the other thread and be on both 😂

@ALittleBitofVitriol glad you got to go home, blood thinning meds are very normal for post op these days its more preventative than anything. Wow oxycodone is the strong stuff! Awww i cant wait for baby cuddles!

Awww congratulations @Somethingabitdifferent22 im glad it all worked out ok for you 😊

@CurlyNo2 😂😂 that made me laugh

@greenerfingers did the party go ok?
That sounds so hard! I was in alot of pain walking around tesco yesterday but had the trolley to lean on, thankfully paracetamol helps i really feel for you guys who have it so much worse!

My house is a shit tip every time i tidy up ds1 managed to cause carnage and when dh cooks and the kitchen is a bomb site! At least it keeps me busy but jeez if it could stay tidy for one day that would be nice!

Im finding my knickers really uncomfortable the under the bump and over bump ones are just so tight! I swear they are contributing to my groin pain!
I agree with H&M leggings they are comfy, im living in my leggings and comfy pj bottoms and im not planning to stop when i give birth 😂 though i did get some H&M maternity jeans that i plan to wear post birth too as i dont see me fitting into my normal jeans for a while

I haven't been on here In a few days, I'm doing ok, I've got my induction booked for tomorrow and I'm actually getting quiet nervous about it, I just hope it doesn't take too long, I've heard it can take days, when you're having it done early and the hospital really don't want me going any longer! I'm not looking forward to leaving my DD either, I've never left her, not even for one night so the thought of leaving her for a few nights isn't what I wanted for this birth really! I know it sounds stupid but think the closer it's getting the more anxious I'm becoming about leaving her, even though my parents are more than capable of looking after her and DH is allowed to stay in hospital with me!

Congratulations on everyone's who's given birth 🥰

Hope everyone still waiting isn't in too much discomfort now
