Elle1709 · 28/10/2022 20:18

@amyrose223 congratulations 🥳

I definitely feel in pain now, 39 weeks and my knees are hurting so much, my hips are really painful especially through night so I'm struggling to sleep. I feel huge as well! Can't wait to not be pregnant anymore. I thought the other day, I wonder if I will ever wear jeans again haha, they seem like a distant memory, now I live in joggers or maternity leggings.

VolcanicProtectorMan · 28/10/2022 20:34

@greenerfingers I have one coffee a day in the morning, occasionally two. Plus I drink full fat, full caff Coke with my tea! My daughter was 6lb 5oz but my belly was small and neither me or husband are tall so she came out perfectly. I’m worried this one will be a chunk regardless of my caffeine intake as I’m so much bigger this time!

greenerfingers · 28/10/2022 21:15

With my first I was so off caffeine it just made me sick, but this time my coffee is my mental break, my comfort when I've had a hard day. I have one strong coffee a day and they did mention baby is measuring small.. the scan could be off but makes me wonder 😬. I'm huge this time and would be gutted if I have a tiny baby and huge belly 😂

CurlyNo2 · 28/10/2022 21:19

Congratulations @amyrose223 wonderful news!!

We’ve had some exciting news tonight, that our mortgage offer has been accepted. We’ve been to’ing and fro’ing with the bank for about 3 months over the house we have an offer accepted on and they’ve finally approved our application. We had hoped to be in before the baby arrived but it looks like it could be around Xmas now!

ALittleBitofVitriol · 28/10/2022 23:59

Congratulations @amyrose223!

@greenerfingers, I've never really limited coffee in my pregnancies, I haven't wanted as much as usual, but 2 or 3 cups a day isn't unheard of. If I was doing double espressos and caffeine pills I'd worry, but a normal instant coffee or two is so unlikely to cause any issues. Drank plenty with my last 2 and they were both over 4kg!

Congrats on the house @CurlyNo2! Must be such a relief!

greenerfingers · 29/10/2022 00:25

Thanks for that @ALittleBitofVitriol. That's reassuring!

I officially have one month left till my due date. Can't wait

CurlyNo2 · 29/10/2022 03:10

Thank you, yes a relief indeed.

I don’t drink caffeinated tea or coffee but I do have a Costa hot chocolate pretty much everyday which I was recently told has a high level of caffeine in!

I’m trying out the bed tonight having spent the past 2 nights on the sofa, and it’s just not working. My bump feels painful, like there isn’t any support despite being propped up with pillows. I think a foot has decided to become wedged in my runs which is making things uncomfortable.

Elle1709 · 29/10/2022 04:48

@CurlyNo2 also awake. It just feels impossible to sleep, my bump is also so heavy and painful. My hips and back are really sore and keep getting leg cramps 😩

CurlyNo2 · 29/10/2022 04:50

Hi @Elle1709 oh no! Sleep feels like an impossible task doesn’t it right now.

I have terrible pain and pressure in my bum. Think I’m constipated but it’s not helping matters right now🤣

CurlyNo2 · 29/10/2022 05:28

I have fell into a rabbit hole of watching videos of my son when he was about 2 years old and I cannot wait to go through this stage again! 🥰

Kathno4 · 29/10/2022 08:58

Congratulations @amyrose223
39 week scan/consultants appt ended up in hospital for 6 hours… placenta has shown its mature, I have an infection and my bp was borderline high (way higher than I’ve ever seen mine go) they were watching me and commented on how it looked like I was contracting. I have been on and off for a few weeks but declined the check up as to not disturb anything just yet…. It’s my last pregnancy and really hoping to last the weekend with my little babies before the house gets crazier 😬 being induced Monday so baby should be here by Wednesday 🥰

had massive mucus plug yesterday, how long after one of those did you guys go into active labour? I’ve forgotten everything 🤣

TFMinx · 29/10/2022 09:30

Good luck @Kathno4 hope everything goes smoothly for you

Feb85 · 29/10/2022 09:54

Congratulations @amyrose223 hope you & baby are doing well x

NotAdultingToday · 29/10/2022 09:55

@greenerfingers i bet you are so glad to be finished! I found i was in a lot less pain when i finished work so hopefully you will feel better soon!
I tried to stick to one coffee a day but it doesnt always happen, and i didnt include chocolate and fizzy caffeinated drinks in that either! I was the same with ds and so far we are all ok 😂

@Elle1709 awww bless you! I wanted to have another baby so much but forgot how much i hate this stage of pregnancy (husband keeps saying i told you so!)
I just got so more maternity jeans as i dont think ill be back in normal jeans for a looooong time

@CurlyNo2 thats exciting i bet you are so relieved!

I actually managed to stay in my bed all night last night! Still woke up to pee what felt like every hour though!

@Kathno4 ooo thats exciting but i hope you are feeling ok?

ALittleBitofVitriol · 29/10/2022 10:28

Wow, that's an eventful day @Kathno4! How many weeks/days will you be on Mon? Can I ask how they knew your placenta was showing 'mature'? Hope you're feeling okay and have a restful weekend 💜

Kathno4 · 29/10/2022 20:28

Thanks ladies, I’m so bloody nervous, even with it being baby number 4 I still don’t feel prepared enough…
we’ve had a Halloween day today so I don’t feel so guilty!
@ALittleBitofVitriol it showed up on a scan, not that I saw anything different, I went in thinking how pointless a 39 week scan would be. Now I’m really thankful that it’s been seen!
They said they’d call me to come earlier if it was possible, now I’m thinking there’s not much hope of that 😬
I’ll be started off at 39+5 so expect to hold baby on due date 🤩
It’s frustrating because if they’d of induced me when I told them I should have been at 37 weeks, this wouldn’t be an issue xx

CurlyNo2 · 29/10/2022 20:58

@Kathno4 Oh how exciting to know when you’ll have your baby in your arms.

Im 36+3 and my right nipple feels like it’s on fire. There does seem to be a very small area on my nipple close the centre which looks a bit inflamed. I wasn’t sure if it’s something blocked or a but if friction burn as I’m yet to start leaking. Do anybody else’s nipples hurt? I don’t remember this with my son first time around.

Does anybody have any Halloween plans?

greenerfingers · 30/10/2022 01:57

Ooh hope all goes well for you with the induction @Kathno4.

I've got such severe lower back pain tonight, I'm 36 weeks today so no idea whether to be worried or not. Like @TFMinx I've had a baby before and don't know if this is back labour starting or just back pain! Really really want to last till next Sunday at least and hit 37 weeks.

TFMinx · 30/10/2022 05:24

Fingers crossed you get there @greenerfingers how far along were you when your first baby was born?

VolcanicProtectorMan · 30/10/2022 06:26

I’m feeling so sad and sorry for myself. I’ve only just got over body aches I had for five days that were so severe, and my last day at work on Friday I decided to get my flu jab. Well, I’m pretty sure she has injected me incorrectly and now I have severe shoulder pain. I can’t do anything with my arm. My maternity leave had just started and now this, that I don’t know if/when it will go. How am I meant to hold my baby when I have him. To make things worse, my 3 year old has her jabs on Wed and I’m so scared for her now. What if they mess up hers. This pregnancy has just been awful 😞

greenerfingers · 30/10/2022 08:35

I was 39+6 @TFMinx but nowhere near as active as I am now.

Sorry to hear that @VolcanicProtectorMan, can you call back and ask what you can take for relief? And perhaps ask a different nurse to administer the jabs? I had a poor anaesthetist administer a spinal once and had cluster migraines for over a week. The next time I made the hospital knew and they gave me a different one who used a much much thinner needle and was more aware (also didn't get any headaches or after effects). Perhaps you could do something similar?

VolcanicProtectorMan · 30/10/2022 08:57

@greenerfingers I work in a hospital so I just got the jab at work, so thankfully it definitely will be someone different doing my daughters jabs. It’s just such bad timing as I’m already dreading taking her because she’s scared, and now I’ve had a complication! If it’s still bad tomorrow I’m going to need to phone the GP. Just seems like it’s one thing after another. I regret getting the jab so much now.

Bubblegum20 · 30/10/2022 18:57

I had a few days to catch up on!

Congrats @amyrose223

I'm 37 weeks today and I've fallen head first into the Google every symptom trap, I had my daughter at 37 weeks exactly so for some reason even though I've got 3 weeks until my due date, I feel like I'm late 🤦🏻‍♀️ all my family and friends have said their second arrived sooner so think that got into my head

OtiMama · 30/10/2022 19:58

Sorry I am struggling to keep up with the chat now. I have finished work though, wahey!!

@tb4122 did you visit the birthing centre today? I really liked it and will opt for that if I can get a space. The lady said despite only being 2 rooms quite a few people aren't eligible to go there and others will never select it as they know they want more pain relief before they come in.

I also have bad back ache but I've had it on and off along with pressure for a couple of weeks now so I think it's nothing for me this time. Last time I only got back ache and period type pains when my son was on his way. Annoying how different it is. I can feel a pressure on my pubic bone this evening, its uncomfortable. Everyone I know IRL due around me has had their baby now, so I feel impatient even though I'm due in 20 days time, they've all given birth early!

@VolcanicProtectorManI hope your arm feels better soon, that sounds so frustrating.

tb4122 · 30/10/2022 20:31

@OtiMama I did, I really liked it too and will opt for it if there's a space. I liked the positive language that the midwife was using and the fact that nobody can try to force you to lie on the bed because there isn't one! I also got told the same about availability (few people eligible and many will choose more pain relief) so hopefully I can give it a go. I quite like that I have the option to transfer if I do need more pain relief though, as it's my first and I've no idea I how I'll cope with it yet. I ordered a TENS machine on hire but worried it's going to get held up with the Royal Mail strikes this week. Not that I'm due for 20 days (we're due date buddies too!) but you never know. My DP is also a little concerned about how he is going to cope with the experience and I think it would be a nicer place for him if he had to leave the room for a breather and not end up in a busy labour ward corridor.
