@wibblewobbleball I feel as though I could have written this post. Every single one of your complaints, I feel!! I hope you’re doing ok.

I slept on the sofa last night and I got a better night sleep but it wasn’t the comfiest. I’ve requested an appointment with the GP over my hands, not sure what I am expecting to get out of it, fully expecting ‘it’s a pregnancy symptom you have to get on with’.
.

CurlyNo2 · 24/10/2022 08:39

@OtiMama @greenerfingers I hope you’re both doing ok, the end is in sight and we’ll soon have out beautiful babies to show for all the pain we’ve had to cope with over the past few months.

Beanniebaby22 · 24/10/2022 11:51

@wibblewobbleball the jaw pain could be from grinding your teeth in your sleep. I used to get that and had to wear a mouth guard in bed.

CurlyNo2 · 24/10/2022 13:02

So after the GP called me back over the numbness in my hands, she wanted to see me. She said it’s deffo carpal tunnel syndrome, so been advised to wear a wrist splint at night on both wrists. She said it takes 4 weeks for it to work.

Domibeva · 24/10/2022 13:33

This is the oddest thing in the world… but I have no pains as such just your normal braxton now and again… I have the worst pain in my bum / maybe back of my pelvis!
does anyone have any remedies to help relieve it ? I feel like I’ve pulled a muscle in my foof too 😂
I feel like I’m falling apart in these last weeks!

I’ve got to move house on the weekend too!

dday can’t come quick enough!

wibblewobbleball · 24/10/2022 15:56

@Beanniebaby22 and @CurlyNo2 thanks so much for the sympathy - pleased you've got somewhere with your carpal tunnel, I may try the doctors tomorrow!! And the teeth grinding is a good shout, I think maybe I'm clenching to try to avoid snoring??

roobearbaby · 24/10/2022 17:03

My foof feels bruised and nothing has even come out of it yet 😂

God help me with how it will feel after birth!

NotAdultingToday · 24/10/2022 18:44

I had my 36 week scan today, baby good growing well is about 6lbs13 at the moment. And hes lying transverse seems to be taking after his brother already 🤦🏼‍♀️ why cant they lay normally!
The sonographer looked really concerned until i said i was having a csection so he can do what he likes though why he changed position from head down in the last scan i dont know!

I have my consultant and anaesthetist appointment tomorrow im excited as ill finally find out my date for the section!

@roobearbaby i have that some days too so swollen and sore!

@Domibeva poor you! I wish i had some tips but nothing here!

tb4122 · 24/10/2022 19:43

I've got my 36 week midwife appointment this week, do they go through birth preferences at any point or help with making birth plans? Or do I just write it out myself and hope it's ok on the day?!

CurlyNo2 · 24/10/2022 19:55

The 36 week appointment normally takes place at home in my area where you go through your birth plan. I’d go prepared with what your preferences are written down so you can discuss them with your midwife. Hope it goes well.

curlywurly10 · 24/10/2022 20:19

i'm also having my 36 week appointment on Friday and i'm not sure what to expect, though the midwife has booked me an appointment at 38+4 to go over a birth plan which is a bit worrying in case the baby comes before then and i have no definite plan in place 😬🫤
I don't see him coming early but it's still cutting it close

VolcanicProtectorMan · 24/10/2022 20:59

Do people really write down birth plans? Where? I don’t have notes this time, just an app, but I didn’t write anything for my first when I did have paper notes, unless my midwife wrote it somewhere. I don’t remember my midwife ever asking me what birth I wanted though, have I just glazed over this detail? 😂

Beanniebaby22 · 24/10/2022 21:10

@VolcanicProtectorMan yeah theres a place in my notes for me to write my birth plan. Apparently they do look at it 🤷🏽‍♀️

VolcanicProtectorMan · 24/10/2022 21:28

@Beanniebaby22 Well bloody hell! I mean I got pretty much the birth I wanted last time anyway, I was lucky, but I had no idea there were places to put these things. Not sure there is a space in my app though this time round tbf. But I’m just going to go for the same again if I can. Though this time I’m going to push for the placenta injection thing they give you afterwards. They didn’t want me to have it last time and to birth the placenta naturally as I hadn’t had any pain relief or drugs, but it took ages and then I ended up having it anyway. So this time I will tell them I want it straight away.

OtiMama · 24/10/2022 21:43

We have a section for birth plan, it includes different sections to consider and questions to answer. Or you can just do your own one on paper and insert it. It includes things such as pain relief, once baby is born - Vitamin k options, injection for placenta or not etc. I have filled mine in to discuss with midwife but kept quite basic and "see as we go" which worked well for me last time.

Today baby seems lower but also pushing into my ribs at the same time. Just so bloody uncomfortable. Our local hospital has announced that the birth Centre is opening next to the Labour ward end of the month, so we are going to see it on Sunday. Hoping I can go there for birth providing scan this Wednesday confirms no more issues with fluid or growth. I live about 3 minute drive from the hospital so not far to go either way!

Bubblegum20 · 24/10/2022 22:28

@OtiMama you're nice and close to the hospital then, I've got about a 15 minute drive if there's no traffic 🤞🏼

@VolcanicProtectorMan I don't remember writing out my birth plan either last time, think I just must have said go with the flow sort of thing, which worked out well last time so I won't be writing anything in detail this time! I've got my consultant appt tomorrow so we'll see if he asks as it's my 36 week appt.

greenerfingers · 24/10/2022 22:29

Reading this has really highlighted to me how naive I used to be thinking pregnancy was a breeze and labour was to fear 😂. Last time I was so grateful for pregnancy to end I was welcoming my contractions. This time I fear if my body can even handle a contraction without falling apart.

@Domibeva sounds like coccyx pain, I actually get my contraction pain there (posterior babies), anyway sitting on an ice pack should help and swapping with a hot water bottle at times.

Glad you'll be getting your dates soon @NotAdultingToday. So exciting and hope it's not too uncomfortable with a transverse baby.

@OtiMama I feel my pelvis about to snap so take it baby is lower but I feel the feet so high up in my ribs. They did say it's measuring really tall (depending how accurate they are) but yes so strange I sometime feel hiccups right in my pelvis and the feet moving same time up near the top of my ribs.

We have a birth plan section here too but tbh a lot gets forgotten or not even checked when it comes to it. My husband made sure he knew my plan and would advocate when needed as the midwives didn't bother looking at it (don't get me wrong they were lovely). The placenta injection was such a life saver, even though I said I wouldn't get it, after such a long labour it was well needed.

I'm officially at the get the crutches out stage as I can no longer walk with my SPD and sacroiliac joint pains. God help me.

Kathno4 · 24/10/2022 22:59

Evening ladies, I can’t believe im still here after having a 37 weeker (just) last time 🫣 feel so heavy and sore running around after 2 toddlers and a preteen.
39 week scan and consultant on Thursday and 40 week midwife appt next week 😬
my bump has always measured ‘small’ but someone today asked if I was carrying twins. Lovely … 🤣

amyrose223 · 24/10/2022 23:00

37+4 tomorrow and I'm getting induced! Anyone else had experience with this? X

CurlsnLipstick · 25/10/2022 01:38

@amyrose223 I got induced for my pregnancies. The first was most painful. They insert pessaries to soften your cervix in the hopes it triggers labour. Usually 2. 2nd inserted like 5-6hours after the first. If that fails to work, they inject IV syntocin. It's meant to mimic natural oxytocin the body produces for labour.
The contractions as a result as sooooo intense and quite painful. Subjective as it could have been a FTM thing or just me btw. It took about 12hours and a failed epidural before baby arrived.

2nd time, was much much better. After the second pessary, my contractions started and within half hour of waters breaking, baby was born. The contractions were effective but intense.
HTH and all the best! Keep us posted on how it goes 😊

amyrose223 · 25/10/2022 01:44

@CurlsnLipstick aww thank you for your reply! I've got a really achy back tonight and I'm pretty sure I've had a slight bloody show, it was very light pink so I'm hoping it's starting naturally! X

CurlsnLipstick · 25/10/2022 02:16

That's honestly a great sign and I hope everything progresses smoothly for you. Wish you a safe delivery 💐

So sorry about the back pain, mines just eased off but my disappointment in DH- not so much.
Went out shopping today, threatened to climb into the trolley & have DH push me. Needless to say, he conveniently had to use the toilet at that very moment. He could tell I meant it.
Sometimes I think he aspires to number 10. I mean, I doubt a 10sec TikTok video of him chauffeuring his pregnant wife in Tesco could mess his image!! There's really no bad publicity I kept reassuring him on our drive back home.
The things women have to put up with..😒😖😤

ALittleBitofVitriol · 25/10/2022 08:04

Hope you're feeling okay @amyrose223 and things are progressing! I was induced with #1 after my waters broke but I was very nearly in labour on my own anyway- was 4cm when they finally got the drip in. It was a good experience, had no other complications, only gas and air, dd was born about 7 hours later.

Lol @CurlsnLipstick, dh does the shopping by himself here 😄

Had another round of appointments today, bubs still breech, fluid still v. low. Caesar booked for next Thursday, 3/11, at exactly 39 weeks!

greenerfingers · 25/10/2022 08:27

Sorry to hear about the low fluid and breech baby but happy you have a date and plan in place @ALittleBitofVitriol! I'm booked in for a different procedure the same day. Counting down the days eagerly.

No more shopping over here either @CurlsnLipstick. Lists are always sent 😅.

ALittleBitofVitriol · 25/10/2022 08:35

Thanks @greenerfingers! I'm at peace with the plan, I feel like maybe he's so comfy breech for a reason and the fluid thing is unnerving - I'm worried about the placenta because nothing is helping. 9 more sleeps! Hope your procedure goes well!
