Massive congratulations on baby Myles @arianasky! Sorry to hear that your experience was so tricky and I'm wishing you a speedy recovery!! Newborn bliss is the best 🥰

Skl2021 · 25/11/2022 08:00

@arianasky lovely news 😍🌈 hope your recovering as well as can be! Sounds like u had a rough time. Enjoy baby Myles 💙 xx

arianasky · 25/11/2022 09:29

Thank you all it wasn't as bad as it sounds tbh probably because of all the gas and air I can't remember much 😂 and in the section I didn't have a clue what was happening so wasn't scared only the following day I realised what had happened, as crazy as it sounds I would do it all again and still feel I had a positive experience, I'm loving chilling with myles and recovering, thank you to all of you for your support during our journeys to baby 💙💙

B1993 · 25/11/2022 10:42

My scan this morning went perfectly and I need not have worried about the previous small measurements. Everything looked great and baby is now measuring slightly ahead of what I thought at 12+6! 🥰😍🤩

PS. any gender theorists out there? I would love a guess. I had a sneak peek but am pretty sure I contaminated my results so can't 100% trust the boy result! 🙈

@B1993 Yippee! That's a great picture - hope it eases the worry a bit. NO idea wrt sex - I had umpteen scans with my little girl, still none the wiser when she popped out...

that's great news @arianasky and the only thing that matters is you and baby are happy and healthy :-) love the name

Congrats @B1993 :-)

B1993 · 25/11/2022 14:01

Thank you both! 🥰

Yes, I definitely feel less anxious now. 12 weeks feels like one of the biggest milestones so just relived to be past it now!!

B1993 · 25/11/2022 14:01

*relieved

Sassy144 · 26/11/2022 07:15

@arianasky congratulations I'm so happy you have your rainbow here with you ❤️🌈

calimc83 · 29/11/2022 20:20

Hey 👋 how's everyone doing? Feel like I have been pregnant for years ( and still got agggeees to go). I was just wondering how many weeks were u all when u took Mat leave? x

barneymcgroo · 29/11/2022 23:14

Hello! All fine thank you - had her 7 week check up today, jabs next week 😥
Hope you're doing well - how many weeks now?

Mat leave - with 2 previous pregnancies, wasn't too waddly right up to the day they came, so I worked pretty much up to the week before. I'm self employed, so able to take it a little bit easy, though strange definition of easy, as it involved running around after a 4 yr old and a 2 yr old... See how you feel - give yourself a bit of time to sort yourself out.

B1993 · 30/11/2022 06:16

@calimc83, I look my mat leave at just shy of 38 weeks with my first and DS arrived at 39+2. This time, I'm hoping to leave it as long as possible but I haven't thought about exact dates as I'm only 13+4 weeks, so it's a bit early to decide on dates just yet.

Skl2021 · 30/11/2022 07:51

@calimc83 hope your doing ok ♥️ I left at 31 weeks but I had holidays to use up and little bugger was stuck in my ribs so standing for long times was agony! Depends how uncomfortable you are and how demanding your job is! I didn't decide until the last minute either as I wanted to see how I felt x

calimc83 · 30/11/2022 16:35

@barneymcgroo oh wow 7 weeks already! Do u feel like time is flying?
@Skl2021 am ok! Just shattered, it's not a 'physical job' so to speak but is pretty high pressured. 31 weeks sounds amazing! Pretty jeal of that..are u taking the full year?
@B1993 I think I went off roughly around the same time with my first 2. I'm thinking 36 weeks sounds pretty appealing at the mo. Would like to keep going longer..but it's hard! x

calimc83 · 30/11/2022 16:35

@barneymcgroo I'm 25 weeks now..still soooo far off! X

Skl2021 · 30/11/2022 16:42

@calimc83 I'd say go whenever you need to. I know lots of people want to leave it as late as possible but I needed a break before baby was here. Yes I'm due to go back In may I think if I do go back. How u doing anyway? X

calimc83 · 30/11/2022 19:09

@Skl2021 it's so hard to know when to take it. Baby's due mid March but I'm 99%sure it'll be a c sec so thinking maybe to finish for Feb half term? Are u thinking u might not return then? I think if I could have a year off then I'd go at around 31 weeks ish as well. We don't get a full years pay so financially it's probs not doable for us :( x

Skl2021 · 30/11/2022 19:47

@calimc83 when do you have to decide by? I would leave it as late as possible before u have to give notice and see how u feel then? But obviously with you not getting a year off u want to spend as much time with baby as possible! It's a hard one. No I might not go back and look for something with different hours. Unsure yet and obviously with the way things are going and everything costing so much more I think I would need too x

barneymcgroo · 30/11/2022 19:55

@calimc83 Time is FLYING! She feels huge now, and we're having lovely smiles and little noises. So sweet!

25 weeks? That last bit is going to zooooooom! Your little person will be here before you know it - can't remember whether you found out what it was...?

OP posts:
calimc83 · 30/11/2022 21:16

@Skl2021 I've not been given a cut off as yet for deciding but my manager was asking the other day..I've booked a weeks hol mid feb and was hoping to start it after then. I'm hoping if I can get through Christmas, then not back in till early Jan it's not tooo long to go. I have it in my head that I want to be coming back to work after the next Christmas hols ( 9 months of Mat leave plus a months holiday)...@barneymcgroo aww 🥰 lovely when they start smiling! We're having a surprise this time around..i defo fell like the first few months flew and now time is going soooo slow. Keep having moments of panic and doubt and I just want to get to a more 'viable' stage if u know what I mean? Finding pregnancy after loss a total head f**k x

barneymcgroo · 30/11/2022 21:40

@calimc83 At 25 weeks, you're doing brilliantly, and every day is getting more and more viable. I remember a friend who works in the SCBU saying that if I got to 36 weeks, I wouldn't have to go and see her, so that was a big milestone! Ooh, love a surprise! What have you got already? And any inkling...?
