p2b so happy your scan went well and you are going back in two weeks. The head measuring 5 days big really is nothing as there could literaly be 1mm in it, scans can be inaccarute too, dd had a the head measurement of a 42 weeker at a 36 week scan yet was born at 38 weeks with her head on the 25th centile!

bunnyinheadlights · 31/01/2008 20:28

it doesnt look good - just passed huge clot and lots of red bleeding like a period. i think this is going to happen naturally - will set the record for shortest stay on knickers checkers... i am going to hide out on the mc avengers board for now. but thanks for all your kind words and support!

kate2179 · 31/01/2008 23:09

So sorry to hear you're having a tough time bunny, will look out for you with the Avengers.

Please can I ask the collective wisdom of this thread a question? Found out today that I have had my 2nd mmc in 3 months. Should be 6 weeks today but yesterday's bloods showed that hcg has started to fall... My GP has been great but has said that my local hosp have already told her they will not even consider looking at me with "only" 2 mc, even though they have been so close together and so similar ( . Have been doing quite a bit of MN and internet based research and the names that I hear mentioned again and again are St Mary's in Paddington and Dr Raj Rai. So I've taken my credit card firmly in hand and booked a private app with him for 12th june (soonest they can do). Did many people here get referred after 2 mc? Has anyone seen Dr Rai? Why does this keep happening to me? (No need to answer the last one ).
My doc reckons I'll be pg again by May anyway but I have a feeling there's some underlying problem and that we ought to wait til after the referral... Has anyone else felt this way? Was so positive it was going to work this time, but in fact this pg didn't even get as far as the last one
Thanks in advance for your help, Kx

spugs · 01/02/2008 09:14

bunny - sd sorry to hear whats happening, at 5 weeks i dont think they can see much on a scan. id wait a week or so and then have one. ring the epu anyway though cos you never no.

kate - sorry to hear about you mcs, i only had the one so hae no experiance of getting refered. my sister managed to get refered after 1 mc but that was because she stopped ovulating due to the stress and they ended up finding a thyroid and clotting problem. good luck for your appointment, hopefully the time will go quickly x

hi to everyone else, hope your all well x

Julezboo · 01/02/2008 09:37

bunny so sorry your going through this.

Hello to everyone else.

Well my scan yesterday wasnt great news but the doc said she thinks its too early and so do I, i actually sat down and worked out my dates last night and I am only 4+1 today so thats hopeful news, just waiting for 11am to come now to ring up and get HCG results.

They found something really close to my scar tissue from previous sections and it could well turn into a form of ectopic so we are keeping everything crossed at the moment even our eyes

I have had no bleeding or pain touch wood and syptoms are still strong

Merryoncemore · 01/02/2008 11:33

Kate2179, Sorry to here abot your second m/c, I know how frustrated you must feel at this time. I m/c'd on July 23rd last yr at 6+6 and then on Oct 18th at 6+1. I was referred by my doctor to see the consultant but only because of my advancing years (37) and the fact that I had had no successful pregnancies previously (not sure if this is you as I haven't had a chance to read the thread, currently at work). I am a complete control freak and did quite a lot of reading coming to the conclusion that the most likely (but not only) reason for me miscarrying so early was Chromosonal therefore every pregnancy was another completley separate chance.

When I went for my consultancy appointment I was 6 weeks pregnant , (I'm not very good at waiting) but I'm glad I was as the hospital said at that point that I shouldn't have been referred so I'm not convinced they would have done anything other than bollock my GP!I would have found this very upsetting having sat on my laurels for 3 months waiting for the appointment.

So I guess what I'm saying is that you can push for a referral but I get the impression the hospital/consultant can still refuse you . I hope private care is more understanding and things work out well for you.

My 3rd pregnancy has not yet m/c'd, I'm 10+6 today and living in hope that this time it's for real.

Take care of yourself.

Merryoncemore · 01/02/2008 11:43

Kate - I should also have said that if you are pregnant when you go to the consultant they will refuse to do any testing. Just so you're aware if you're making any decisions.

Hello all -
bunny and kate, just read your messages, sorry you are going through this. MC is just horrible. ((((hugs)))) to both

splishsplosh · 01/02/2008 18:18

Really sorry to hear what you're going through Kate and Bunny , it's so unfair

ronshar · 02/02/2008 12:25

Bunny and kate. It is horrible for you. My heart aches every time another one of us has to endure this pain.

becklespeckle · 02/02/2008 21:03

bunny & kate and hugs to both of you x

becklespeckle · 02/02/2008 21:10

HUGE congrats to the lovely MrsMc & MrMc too on the birth of Xavier! Can't wait to hear your birth story! Know how hard it is to get time for MN though with a new LO - this is only the third time I have managed it in the last 3.5 weeks!

Big congrats and much finger crossing for Ronshar and all other newbies too - hope you have lovely stress free pgs.

HunofMonsters, so so glad your placenta has moved! Hope you can enjoy the rest of your pg now and look forward to a lovely homebirth!

Little Evie is settling in well and is now gaining weight, she is mostly very content although often unsettled in the evenings (requiring many cuddles which is no great hardship!). I will never forget the babies I lost or the hurt I felt but since she has been born I feel as though a weight has been lifted and my life is full of light again. I am calmer and happier (and more tired!) than I have been for a very very long time. She is worth everything.

It's lovely to hear from you beckle - sometimes I forget about the end result as was so focussed on getting pg and staying pg for so long. I can't wait to meet my LO.

jules - 15 weeks! Yey for miniyou!

kate2179 · 03/02/2008 12:34

Thank you so much for all your messages of support ladies, it always helps to know that there are others who have been where I am (IYKWIM).
Nothing to report here, not handling the waiting too well, was quite tempted to stay in bed today and try to fast forward to tuesday as quickly as possible. I don't know how I will cope if on tuesday they say I have to wait another week... But I guess we'll just have to cross that bridge when we come to it.
jules so so pleased to hear that everything is going well with minijules, 15 weeks is fantastic! Thank you so much for your lovely message. You give me hope. xx

DonDons · 03/02/2008 15:55

lol at Jules "when did that happen?"... well......., when a man and a woman love each other.... fner fner

Hang in there Kate - the waiting is so hard but you can always come and vent here....

DonDons · 03/02/2008 15:56

....didn't mean to sound crass by the way... I know how hard it is for all of us on here

hunofmonsters · 03/02/2008 16:51

kate and bunny...so sorry to hear your news

Beckle...lovely to see you How old is Evie now?

I have got this awful coldy/fluey bug and of course i can't take anything other than paracetamol. been sneaking the odd dextro energy thingy and baby seems to get soooo wriggly afterwards

feedmenow · 04/02/2008 13:54

This thread is rather quiet! But no news is good news I suppose!

Hope everyone is well.....

xxx

spugs · 04/02/2008 14:27

it is quiet isnt it, its all the grads weve had recently , im busy trying to get sorted for this one arriving (7 weeks) cant believe at times how quickly its gone and at others how i feel like ive been pregnant forever .

sorry to hear peoples bad news, i only had the one mc so im in a totaly different boat. but wishing you all the best for future babies.

julez - at 4 +1 i wouldnt have thought they would have seen alot, some places wont scan till at least 5 weeks for this reason. hopefully they'll give you another scan in a week or 2 and it'll be fine.

jules - 15 weeks

just realised we have lost our list! whos the current grande dame? i shall go hunt for it.

EllieG · 04/02/2008 16:36

It has gone quiet hasn't it? Things are mostly uneventful for me - I feel crappy and very moany but baby is fine, so just counting my lucky stars for that. Only 10 weeks to go now for me.....

Bouncingturtle · 04/02/2008 16:43

Hey everyone, how are you all?

Sorry to hear the bad news , but looking forward to seeing the new graduates! Who's next?

OracleInaCoracle · 04/02/2008 16:46
