I've just found out I'm expecting my second baby the first week of June 2023 - anyone else? Early days, so being cautious, but can't help feeling excited!

So exciting about all these upcoming scans! All the best for tomorrow. @B1993 @theodora2146 💕

Congratulations on your BFP! @HeyDuggeesFavouriteSquirrel I hope you have a happy and heathy pregnancy with your rainbow baby. 🌈

I hope you get your 3+ on Friday for some reassurance. ❤️ @BellaTheDarkOverlord

I’ve wondered the same @tigerlily0 I can’t remember if I took my pregnacare tablet last night but my nausea was significantly reduced this morning. I woke up feeling great. It has slowly come back in waves throughout the day. I’m wondering if I should start taking the pregnacare with meals instead of at bedtime like I normally do. My nausea doesn’t feel like I want to vomit, it just feels like a constant feeling of car sickness/motion sickness. Like woozy. If that makes sense? Idk if this is average. I never had any sickness in my previous pregnancy.

Wow what a night you have had. @Tor88 Soo pleased for you that you had your scan today and everything looks in tip top shape. 🤗

tigerlily0 · 12/10/2022 14:13

@CaliGirl47 oh yea ure meant to take it with a meal anyway, the largest meal of the day. I always do that too. My nausea for both other pregnancies was basically all day nausea, no let up at all, and then the odd vomiting here and there for good measure.
It literally ruins ur whole day can't concentrate and constant sick feeling and dry retching. I might stop the pregnacare and just take the folic acid

Quokka7 · 12/10/2022 17:46

Hope everyone's well! Congrats on the new bfp's!

@tigerlily0 @CaliGirl47 I've been taking Pregnacare max this time and I've been surprised by the lack of nausea/symptoms so far. I am only 5+5 though and everyone says it often kicks in around 6 weeks! Maybe I should enjoy it whilst it lasts! I think if its affecting you just take folic acid and vitamin d.

I've booked my first appointment in with the midwife. I'll be 7+4 if all goes to plan 🤞 still debating whether to get an early scan and the nipt/harmony test before the 12 week scan. I'll talk to the midwife about it and then decide I think. Best of luck to those with early scans! 💖

tigerlily0 · 12/10/2022 18:20

@Quokka7 yes I thought the same and as soon as week 6 hit - nauseous af lol. Let's hope it stays the same for you though, you never know!

I'm going to hold off the pregnacare again today and see how I get on tmrw.

My booking in appt is when I'm 8+4 and I was down as urgent! Just because I'm consultant led for my thyroid. So I'm just waiting until then, not much else I can do

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 12/10/2022 18:38

@Quokka7 I'm supposed to be consultant led but my booking appointment is 9+5 weeks. I hope it doesn't cause an issue.

Quokka7 · 12/10/2022 18:53

@BellaTheDarkOverlord @tigerlily0 I wouldn't worry. I organised it through my gp and they even offered me next week! I think they're just a bit different to most health boards. I had an appointment last time at around 7 weeks, and she didnt take much info or any bloods etc. I ended up with a follow up call around 10 weeks to go through family history etc. So dont be thinking I'm getting any better care than you! I should be consultant led too with my thyroid and the problems with my last pregnancy. Hope that puts your minds at ease 💕

thosethreewords · 12/10/2022 19:09

Hello everyone! Cautious to join 4+0 today with baby # 2. My daughter is just two and both her and this baby have taken almost a year to conceive! I had a CP in August, which was totally shite and hit me way harder than I thought.
Found out at 10DPO and since the weekend I've been feeling a little tired, reflux +++ and some sore boobs on and off.
Anyone got any advice on how not to worry about symptom fluctuation?

B1993 · 12/10/2022 19:27

@zinrepus I feel just the same!! I would love a girl and am a bit hopeful it is a girl but adore my boy so wouldn't be disappointed either way. My son is so loving and such a mummy's boy that I actually think it'll probably be easier with two boys. He also told me that he doesn't want a baby girl and is only interested in a baby brother (topic of conversation came up as my nephew, who's the same age, is getting a baby sister in the next week or so!).

I do wonder if my slightly differing symptoms could signal a different gender. Maybe just wishful thinking though! 🤔

@Tawny2022 Obviously the longer you wait for early scans, the more you're likely to see. I think the earliest anyone does scan privately is 6 weeks, but recommend waiting until 8-ish weeks as the baby looks more baby-like at that stage.

The CB digitals are so expensive! I bought 2 and when I didn't get my 3+, I ended up buying 2 more!! I wonder if they make the hCG so high for the 3+ so people end up sending more money on them! 🤦🏻‍♀️

@theodora2146 Good luck with the scan tomorrow. I'm sure there was someone else on here who is also having one then. Hopefully good news all round for us! 🤞🏻

@HeyDuggeesFavouriteSquirrel Congratulations! 🥳 I had an early miscarriage at the end of August so I know how nerve wracking it is being pregnant after one!

@Tawny2022 I used Pregnacare Max with my first pregnancy and didn't have sickness at all - not even mild nausea. I'm not saying it's not the cause of yours though. This time I'm using the Active Iron Pregnancy Plus - it had all the same ingredients I believe, and I have had very mild nausea.

@Tor88 Great news!! 🥳💗

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 12/10/2022 19:43

@Quokka7 Thanks x Just hope it doesn't cause any issues with being later. Supposed to be on aspirin already. I'll see what happens in next month. Toothache is raging all day today.

B1993 · 12/10/2022 20:33

@CaliGirl47 Thank you! I'll be sure to update tomorrow.

Yes, vitamins should be taken with your main meal or can make you feel sick. Hopefully that does the trick and takes the end ge off of the nausea.

DrinkingAllTheGin · 12/10/2022 21:50

Text the midwife from my last pregnancy as I hadn't heard anything from self referral.
She text back and I'm booked in to see her tomorrow.

Tawny2022 · 12/10/2022 22:07

@B1993 thanks :) I should be 7.5 when I scan according to NHS website, although I guess it depends if I ovulated when they think I did! CB’s seem to disagree!

Aly1316 · 13/10/2022 06:52

Good luck to those with scans and appointments today.

I’ve been managing my nausea by eating more regularly, drinking plenty and getting plenty of sleep, now that I haven’t been feeling as sick I’ve found myself getting more anxious that somethings wrong! I feel a bit like I can’t win 😂

Rose785 · 13/10/2022 06:53

Hey I got my bfp on Sunday and I am still in utter shock! Been trying for 7 months so was fully expecting a bfn as I felt no different to when AF arrives! I conceived the week I went on holiday, stopped taking all the supplements, & drank cocktails 😂 baby is due 17th June which I am thrilled about as thinks that's a lovely Birthday! Congrats everyone isn't this so exciting!

thosethreewords · 13/10/2022 07:00

Did anyone get 1-2 weeks on a CB digital at 4+1? I'm such a worrier! I know I'm probably jumping the gun but I had a CP last cycle.

thosethreewords · 13/10/2022 07:00

@Rose785 congratulations!

B1993 · 13/10/2022 07:30

@Aly1316 Pregnancy is such a minefield of emotions, isn't it?! You wish for symptoms so you feel pregnant and then when you get them you wish you didn't (and vice versa).

@Rose785 Congrats! Don't worry about the few drinks and vitamins as long as you carry on taking them now you know.

@thosethreewords I made a post recently with attachments of normal hCG levels by week compared to hCG needed for CB. You'll see on there that the CB needs quite a bit of hCG so if you're someone with lower amounts (perfectly normal and nothing to worry about) you might not get the results you expect.

I know it's easier said than done to not worry though! I got my 2-3 at 14DPO (exactly 4 weeks) so when I didn't get 3+ at 4+ or 5+0 I panicked! Luckily I got it a couple days later at 5+2 (might have got it at 5+1 but didn't test). My point is, as long as it's progressing, which means hCG is rising, I wouldn't worry too much about the numbers matching your dates.

thosethreewords · 13/10/2022 08:51

@B1993 thank you. I'm just a bit disheartened. I'll wait a few more days and test again. I wish I hadn't done it now but my husband had bought them especially yesterday and they're so bloody expensive!

Rose785 · 13/10/2022 09:02

Thanks @B1993 & @thosethreewords you must be over the moon too! It literally the best feeling in the world.

I wondered when do you all plan to tell people and why?
I was thinking parents and in-laws 8 weeks only because its my dads Bday and we have all the immediate family together and be nice to tell them together, then close friends after the 12 week scan, then work I might have to tell at 14 weeks as that's when its our Xmas party and everyone will wonder why I am not drinking, although ideally I wouldn't have told work until after 20 week scan but I don't know how to hide the not drinking part!
I might tell just my boss sooner if necessary as they are funny about docs app and stuff and making up the time ect but read that for antenatal appointments work have to let you take it.

WarriorsComeOutToPlayaaay · 13/10/2022 09:55

Can I cautiously join please? Due 20 June 2023 all being well.

I am 40 and just found out I am 4 weeks pregnant with my first. We were expecting to start IVF in January. I had an operation in August to remove a cyst from my ovary and to clear endometriosis.

That was the first step to try and get me ready for ivf as I have a very low egg count.

Instead we have conceived naturally! I am a mixture of overjoyed, terrified and, well, just dumbfounded really!

Rose785 · 13/10/2022 10:06

@WarriorsComeOutToPlayaaay massive congratulation! Hats off to those of you that have had to really fight to get to this point the strength you must have! I can only relate to the frustration I felt of it taking 7 months so can only imagine what you have been through!
I have been having very anxious thoughts too but keep telling myself a day that has passed is another day of a step in the right direction to a successful pregnancy. And I keep telling myself no matter what I think or feel it won't change any outcome so just try to sit back and enjoy the fact that today you are pregnant.

B1993 · 13/10/2022 10:07

@thosethreewords I know it can add the anxiety but do try to remember that some women just have naturally lower levels of hCG and that's not a bad thing. I was told that some people don't get 3+ until 7+ weeks and they go on to have perfectly healthy pregnancies.

I also think that they purposely make the CB digitals on the higher end of the hCG spectrum so people panic and end up buying more and more tests. I ended up buying two more tests when I didn't get my 3+ so I fell into that trap!

@Rose785 Im trying not to get too ahead of myself this time as, after my loss, I can't fully trust it. Hopefully the scan will bring some good news this morning - I'm in the waiting room now so hopefully it won't be much longer if a wait!

With my first, I was so excited and told close family as soon as we found out!! Literally within minutes 😅 My boss at work ended up finding out at around 5 weeks after a coworker kept asking if I was pregnant and I ended up blurting it out! Everyone else found out about 12 weeks

The second pregancy I did the same and told everyone early. I wish I hadn't as going back and saying I lots the baby was devastating. This time, I'm waiting until around 9 weeks to tell close family. 12 weeks for close friends and hopefully closer to 18 weeks for work.

Rose785 · 13/10/2022 10:16

@B1993 Let us know how the scan goes! best of luck all is well 😊

WarriorsComeOutToPlayaaay · 13/10/2022 10:18

Thanks @Rose785 and congratulations to you too! Regarding when to tell people I am planning on telling parents and sibling pretty soon and waiting until 12 week scan to tell anyone else.

Reason for telling parents and sibling is a) I am hopeless at keeping secrets and this is the biggest and most exciting thing that has ever happened to me and b) without wanting to sound bleak, if anything bad happens I will need their support.

I don’t think there is a right or wrong time, it’s what feels right to you.

B1993 · 13/10/2022 10:26

Had my scan! All is looking good 🥺😭🤩🥳
The baby is still tiny - around 4.2mm! So I was dated at 5-6 weeks. I still think I'm spot on with ovulation dates so hopefully the later scan confirms that. I also got to see a tiny flickering heartbeat 😭🥰😍💗 Couldbt be more happy!
