I've just found out I'm expecting my second baby the first week of June 2023 - anyone else? Early days, so being cautious, but can't help feeling excited!

Hi everyone, we have booked an early scan this Friday. I calculate baby will be 7 weeks + 2 days by then. Do you think we will get to see heartbeat? So excited but nervous, this is our first.

I constantly feel queasy from morning to night, hoping this passes, I’m also knackered x

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 11/10/2022 13:53

@CaliGirl47 Thanks. Still getting stretching pains and breast pain so we'll see. Got a super dark cheapie which came up straight away so not too worried right now. I'm preoccupying myself by doing some Xmas shopping for DD as I haven't bought her anything yet! Might take her to shops later for wrapping paper. I love Christmas 😁

zinrepus · 11/10/2022 13:56

Just wandered downstairs and grabbed a heartburn chalk. "So it begins". I mean, the leftover Chinese I had might've influenced the heartburn, but I know it's 80% the pregnancy...

@CaliGirl47 I've been having some dizziness here and there, mostly when I turn a bit too fast. I suspect it's normal...but I can't quite remember.

Last pregnancy I'd keep a list of questions for my midwife, especially as my husband couldn't come to appointments. I'd write them in Keep and if the answer was complex I'd jot it down to report back.

Feels a bit like an obvious thing, but your brain gets so crap at retaining any information. If you start the habit early, it'll become routine. My midwife would start appointments with, "Hi, where's your list?" 😆

Fredthespider · 11/10/2022 14:17

@Hannah310523 yes it’s quite likely that you’ll see a heartbeat at 7+2 😊

CaliGirl47 · 11/10/2022 17:53

That test looks really good! So pleased for you. ❤️ @BellaTheDarkOverlord

Hi @Hannah310523 that is so exciting about your scan. I think there’s a very good chance you will see a heartbeat at your ultrasound. 7+2 is a pretty good time for a scan. Hope it all goes well for you and you get a nice pic too. X

@zinrepus That’s a great idea! Thanks for the suggestion. I’m going to start making a note of any questions or concerns I have for when I eventually get my booking appointment. My brain is like mush most the time so a list of notes would be really helpful. Also glad to know I’m not the only one with this dizzy symptom. It feels like what I imagine vertigo is like (although I’ve never had vertigo)

zinrepus · 11/10/2022 18:04

Lol also just had my first preggo paddy. I work in events and we have a digital festival this week. I delegated staff work in the festival to a colleage. Two weeks ago we learned my husband's grandmother's funeral would be Friday this week. In Somerset (we're in Scotland). So two days of driving with a toddler, leaving tomorrow. Last half hour of work (my only 30 minutes to myself until kiddo goes to bed) my colleague starts sticking in her oar.

Long story short nobody's been given any info and we don't have the cover we need for the rest of the week. Annnnnd I might've called my boss outside of working hours essentially going, "THE HECK!?!?! THIS CANNOT HAPPEN TOMORROW I NEED TO LEAVE AND I'M SORRY BUT THIS WAS HER ONE JOB!!!!!"

TLDR: my boss will understand when I someday tell her I'm in the family way. 😂😂🤣🤣

Piggieinthemiddle · 11/10/2022 18:15

I’m tentatively joining. Currently 3+4, due 24th June, so very early days. This will be my first and I just feel like I have no idea what I’m doing. Tried to complete the self-referral to midwifery services today and stumbled at having to select where I want to give birth (ward, birthing centre or home). Will discuss with DH tonight and hopefully complete it tomorrow. I’m keen to get my flu jab ASAP, but I didn’t realise I’d have to think about the actual birth logistics this early. 😬

DrinkingAllTheGin · 11/10/2022 20:17

I'm crying at everything. Tv ads, news reports, my cats face when he asks for dinner. You name it!

No judgement, but I am in process of quitting smoking so tolerance is even lower!

Tawny2022 · 11/10/2022 20:52

@DrinkingAllTheGin good luck :)

I got a positive last week CB saying 2-3, did another today and it’s still 2-3. NHS due date calc says I am 6 weeks. Does this make sense? I’m a bit worried it doesn’t say 3+. I also have quite bad lower back pain today, along with sore boobs some minor cramps on and off which I’ve had for 2 week.

Fredthespider · 11/10/2022 21:15

@Piggieinthemiddle congratulations! Don’t worry too much about where you want to give birth, you can change your mind!

zinrepus · 12/10/2022 06:33

@Tawny2022 from what I understand CB shows how many weeks since implantation. Normal pregnancy counts from last menstrual cycle, so there would be 3-4 weeks different in those numbers...

B1993 · 12/10/2022 06:43

Welcome to all the new joiners!! Exciting times ahead for everyone!! 💗

@Hannah310523 I saw a heartbeat at 6+2 with my son and was told at 7 weeks you have a very high chance of seeing it. Although it won't look like a baby at that stage and will be more of a 'blob'.

@Piggieinthemiddle I agree, try not to worry too much about where you want to give birth at this stage. The local hospitals will offer tours and classes at a later date so you can make a more informed decision.

@Tawny2022 I felt just like this when I didn't get my 3+ at on the day I should have been 5 weeks! For me, I had one by 5+2 so that eased my mind. If I were you, I'd wait a few days and then try again.

There are a few reasons why you wouldn't get the result you expected though. Firstly, there's a huge range of normal when it comes to hCG levels. I'll include some charts comparing the the hCG levels compared when the number the CBD needs. Also, it could also be that you ovulated later than you think. Going by my m/c bleeding I would be a whole 6 days earlier than I actually am, as I didn't ovulate until CD21. The tests can also give different results depending on the diluation of your urine so if you have lots to drink and a short hold, you could get fewer weeks than if you tested with concentrated urine. The time of day can even impact results, for me, my strip tests were always darker in the evening!

I hope that helps ease your mind a bit! The best thing to do if you are worried is to book a reassurance scan as the tests aren't an exact science.

I'm 6 weeks today! Only today day at work before my days off and then half term begins so I'll get a couple of weeks off!! 😆I also have my scan tomorrow morning so have that to look forwards to.

since I'm 6 weeks I've been debating if I should order the sneak peek. 🤔 It's quite expensive to say that there are so many mixed reviews and lots claim it isn't accurate (the company itself does claim to be 99.9% accurate, but of course it would say that). Anyone else wondering what they're having?

zinrepus · 12/10/2022 07:52

@B1993 my husband asked for my unconscious guess and I don't have one. I'd love a girl, but also am so obsessed with our little boy so if I'm destined to be a boy mum that'll be fine. 😊

Tawny2022 · 12/10/2022 08:06

@zinrepus @B1993 thank you so much for replying and all the information.
I did drink a lot of tea yesterday before so maybe it diluted it. I was going to book a scan for next week and the website says end of next week would be the earliest based on last period, but now I am wondering if I should wait as perhaps I ovulated late, hmm. Is a complicated business!
I think I’ll buy a couple more CBs and try on Friday again. Trying not to buy too many since they are crazy expensive.
i have the worst lower back pain at the moment, no idea if it’s related or just bad timing!

I've had back pain on and off, I'm not sure if it's to do with everything stretching? I've got an early scan tomorrow to check everything and I'll be 7 weeks if I got my dates right! Hoping to hear a heartbeat!

Tawny2022 · 12/10/2022 10:18

@theodora2146 good luck for tomorrow fingers crossed.

my back pain is bad at the moment, wondering if it’s just standard back pain and not related anyway.

HeyDuggeesFavouriteSquirrel · 12/10/2022 10:43

Just got my BFP this morning!! I'm over the moon as I had a miscarriage in March and been trying conceive since then!

I already have a three year old little boy!

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 12/10/2022 11:53

@Tawny2022 I only got my 2-3 weeks at 5 weeks+1 I think in the evening. I'm hoping on Friday when I am 6 weeks I might get a 3+. I'll have to buy another test for then. Hopefully you're back pain will ease a bit.

@HeyDuggeesFavouriteSquirrel Sorry for your miscarriage but congrats on your BFP x Hope it's a sticky bean for you.

HeyDuggeesFavouriteSquirrel · 12/10/2022 12:05

Thank you!!

Anyone got the link to the facebook group? I can't find it in the search.

@HeyDuggeesFavouriteSquirrel - I had a MC in April and this will also be my second. I'm much more anxious this time around, how are you finding things? It seems like such a long time before I can get a scan (even an early one!).

Tawny2022 · 12/10/2022 12:58

@BellaTheDarkOverlord thanks, hope you get your 3+ on Friday! I estimate that I’m at 6.5 so I don’t know why I am not getting it. Lots of variables in play I guess anyway so probably not worth worrying about.

tigerlily0 · 12/10/2022 13:01

Guys I'm wondering if pregnacare tablets are making my nausea worse. I didn't take it last night to see if it makes a diff and my nausea is not as bad, I'm getting it in odd waves but not all day like I was. Anyone else noticed this?

Tor88 · 12/10/2022 13:07

Phewf what a long night. I was woken up by cramps at 1am and they literally lasted until about 10am. No nausea. Was fully convinced that was it and miscarriage number 3 was incoming. I happened to have my 6 week security scan booked for today and went in expecting bad news, terrified to be back in the same room I had previous bad news and had my MVA procedure carried out.

But it was a different room today and everything looks ok we have a heartbeat!! I know I'm still so early and I've seen a heartbeat at 8 weeks and still miscarried so I'm really trying not to get my hopes up. But it was such a relief after such a long night of it (and no sleep). Not miscarrying today at least ...

HeyDuggeesFavouriteSquirrel · 12/10/2022 13:24

@ireneadler101 I hear you. I only got the positive this morning and my anxiety kicked in straight away!
