I've just found out I'm expecting my second baby the first week of June 2023 - anyone else? Early days, so being cautious, but can't help feeling excited!

Just had my MW call (yea at 8.30pm) and she's booked me in. I'm 6+ 2, only got booked in because I'm usually consultant-led

I was never worried for both my previous pregnancies , not more than the usual. Even when I ended up with kidney failure after the birth of my second baby.

But this time around maybe because I'm older and my kids are older and I feel quite apprehensive with it all

@B1993 iv been feeling nauseous for the last 2 days, I hate it so much. I can't do anything and then I get hit by absolute tiredness around midday. Not sure how I'm going to work this first trimester, I had it really bad with both pregnancies but I feel like I just got on with it, again I was younger

Veryxonfused · 09/10/2022 21:26

Thanks @BellaTheDarkOverlord @B1993 I’m just trying to take it one day at a time, which is very difficult as I’m not really doing much to distract myself at the moment 😂

Symptom wise I’m very nauseous but not actually vomiting. I have sore boobs on and off, some days I’ll wake up and they’re not sore and other days (like today) they’re really sore. I’ve also been sleeping a looot but I’m partly just trying to sleep the nausea away tbh as my coping mechanism for any type of discomfort is to go to sleep 😂 I’ve been going to bed early and getting about 10-11 hours sleep at night as well as a nap in the afternoon when my nausea is the worst (this weekend, can’t do this during the week)

Veryxonfused · 09/10/2022 21:30

A bit embarrassing but because of the nausea and also the spotting and not wanting to be too active, I’ve not actually left the house at all this weekend 😂

DrinkingAllTheGin · 09/10/2022 21:31

Exhausted yesterday and today. And looking back, for most of the week just gone.
Nausea a bit but not been sick... yet.
Having a ginger tea which I hope helps.
Not called the docs yet. Will try in the week. When did everyone call?

ExcitedandNervousC1 · 09/10/2022 22:27

@DrinkingAllTheGin I'm 4+3 and going to the GP tomorrow:) it's my first so haven't a clue what to be doing!!

Sneezymcsneezy · 10/10/2022 07:28

@DrinkingAllTheGin I didn't call the doctors, just self referred to my hospital of choice! That's only because that's what I was told to do when I had my first, although I went and got my flu jab so inadvertently let them know then

DrinkingAllTheGin · 10/10/2022 08:32

I've found tge self referral form on my GPs website so completed.
I feel so nauseous this morning. Ginger biscuits only taking the edge off.
Plus lower back pain and was wide awake at 4.30 this morning. Bloody insomnia!

MrsP4 · 10/10/2022 08:55

Hi all I haven't posted for a while, I'm 6+2 my EDD is 3rd June today going by LMP have an early scan booked for 21st so hopefully it's all good. I was really sick about a week or so ago but now wondering if it was a bug because I've had nothing since. Feeling a bit anxious because I haven't got any symptoms as of yet. Apart from my boobs feeling a bit tender every so often and dead bloated in the evening ma that's it. Nausea hasn't kicked in yet it started bang on 6 weeks with my daughter.

ellie74x · 10/10/2022 10:53

Hi @Tor88 thank you for your reply! yes very nerve wracking and hard not to be pessimistic!

How is everyone feeling? I did another clear blue and it still says 1-2 weeks (I did my last one last week) I will be 4 weeks tomorrow so was expecting it to have changed. I guess only time will tell but its just deflating.
My OH was excited when we first found out but now he is getting bored of me talking about it all the time, its hard to focus on anything else, i wish i could forget about it but its really hard! We are going away in 2 weeks so hoping that will distract me!

ellie74x · 10/10/2022 10:56

@B1993 yes thats what happened to me too i was expecting my 2-3 week and dint happen! fingers crossed for later in the week!

tigerlily0 · 10/10/2022 11:29

What is everyone doing regarding morning sickness/tiredness and working? I work from home most days so can take it easy, but I don't fancy telling my manager so early on in my pregnancy. I work for the nhs and I'm sure pregnancy sick days are counted differently to normal sick days.

My last 2 pregnancies I used to have to go into work, never took a sick day and my sickness used to be so bad, I used to go vomit in the toilet then come back and work, couldn't/ wouldn't do that now

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 10/10/2022 12:07

5+3 weeks. Hardly any symptoms. Not tired, no sickness. Just toothache and stretching pains. Still get the odd spotting in the evening.

@tigerlily0 Work already knows for me as I have to be on restricted duties. Only my line manager knows so I think everyone else thinks I'm being lazy! It's a bit annoying but I really want to hold off telling too many yet just in case. I haven't had any nausea yet.

Sunflowerx · 10/10/2022 12:11

Sickness has started for me in a big way today! Currently lay in bed while my 1 year old naps feeling very sorry for myself!

Last time I was pregnant I would literally take a test a day to check I still was and I haven't so far! I have one FRER left and part of me wants to use it but I don't know if I want to let my brain take over with paranoia!

DrinkingAllTheGin · 10/10/2022 13:33

I'm sitting in the office sipping ginger and lemon tea hoping no one notices but they will.
Only 5 + 1 and only known ourselves since Saturday but doubt I can hide it long.
Feel shattered and sick!
Doubly hard as it is a year on from my last pregnancy that ended with a MMC.
Manager has just asked how my weekend was...
Managed to hold my tongue!

zinrepus · 10/10/2022 13:33

I finally called to register myself. It feels silly as it's been less than a month but I had a short cycle and no doubt that I'm up the duff. 😂😂

I am struggling because this week is a large event and on top I'm disappearing Wednesday to travel south for a funeral. Soooo...yeah. Life. Such as it is.

Just really feeling the afternoon slump and trying to fight it tooth and nail. Then a micro nausea wave hits and...I mean, I'm not telling anyone yet (had to at 8 weeks last time because of COVID) but it'll be better when I feel less shit at my job and more like I'm a normal pregnant person. 😜🙈

tigerlily0 · 10/10/2022 15:16

Yea I'm so sick and tired, and I literally can't concentrate on my work. Don't know how I'm going to work like this, I don't like taking sick days but I'm going to have to

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 10/10/2022 15:19

It's really silly I know but I'm jealous of those with nausea. I do not feel pregnant 😅I guess I won't be saying that if I do get nausea! My left boob is swollen, my right not so much.

I'm 6+4 and have an early scan on Thursday. My only symptoms are bloating, tiredness and sore boobs. No nausea or sickness, fingers crossed it stays that way!

zinrepus · 10/10/2022 15:31

@BellaTheDarkOverlord it can come on really suddenly. I didn't have it too bad with my first, but it went from zero to me wandering around Edinburgh airport gagging at the thought of any food! 🙈

Tor88 · 10/10/2022 15:38

Really struggling with work today, just so sick and tired all the time The nausea hit from 12dpo which I know is wildly early, but it basically hasn't let up (apart from two days last week when I PANICKED, but then it came back).

Eating soo much and not very healthily, but the main symptom is fatigue. I am falling asleep at like 8.30 every night it's ridiculous! I've been on the progesterone pessaries for 5 days now though so it's hard to separate out what might be symptoms from that. For instance my boobs didn't really hurt in my other pregnancies but they have started now, but I think that could be the progesterone.

Anyone, wanted to see if anyone else is getting that really tired feeling all the time as well? If I wasn't pregnant I'd think I had the flu or something, and be crawling into bed

Formaddict · 10/10/2022 16:56

Hello!

Just found out I am pregnant. I am overjoyed but terrified haha! Our first.

I have contacted the GP but I am not sure what else to do right now?

DrinkingAllTheGin · 10/10/2022 17:22

@Tor88 me! I'm almost too tired to write this reply!
Saturday and Sunday I had 2 hour naps on the sofa and Friday eve I fell asleep after work.
I have a meeting tonight and not sure I have the energy!

Dewintergarden · 10/10/2022 17:36

Hello I tested positive this morning CD 30. I have been ttc for over 3 years and was about to start IVF next month. I am in absolute shock. I called my GP and they have nothing but a nurse app on 10th Nov. Is this usual? I have had a cold and terrible hunger for 2 weeks now which were my only symptoms until I made dinner and felt sick near the end. Can I get a pregnancy blood test anywhere other than my GP surgery which is crap. I am due on 17th June :)

Sunflowerx · 10/10/2022 17:44

I've posted this a few pages back but I'm wondering if anyone has set up a Facebook group for June 2023 babies? My October 21 group was an absolute saviour and I'd love to be part of another!

Congrats. Make sure you're taking folic acid if you aren't already!
