I've just found out I'm expecting my second baby the first week of June 2023 - anyone else? Early days, so being cautious, but can't help feeling excited!

Congrats @Hbx. It's such a nerve wrecking time isn't it??? Did you gp say there would be a heartbeat at 8 weeks?

Hbx · 05/10/2022 13:21

@ExcitedandNervousC1 Thank you!
No, the midwife at early pregnancy unit said she thinks I’ll be around 6 weeks by then although I think I’m further behind. She had said that’s roughly when they can begin to see a heartbeat so fingers crossed but I won’t be too disheartened if not. The scan is mainly for reassurance that things are as they should be and where they should be as I’m higher risk for ectopic. They’ll keep an eye on me regardless, with DS1 I was scanned every 2 weeks which was actually really stressful so I’m hoping everything will be fine and I can just get on with it. We go on holiday next week for a week so I’ve booked a private scan for 22nd oct and should definitely see a heartbeat then so fingers crossed!

miamiibiza · 05/10/2022 13:47

Hi all,

Hope you are all okay.

Just been for a early pregnancy scan. I’m nearly 6 weeks now.
The gestational sac was seen, with a yolk sac, in the correct place, which is great.
They could also see a 7mm anechoic area near the sac, she described it as a pocket of fluid.

Does anyone know what this could be, and is it something to worry about?

HopingForBaby2 · 05/10/2022 14:26

@VesperLindt wow your hcg is super high compared to mine, I find it fascinating that the range is so wide! Glad you were able to see everything on the scan that's great news.
Corpus luteum cyst was also mentioned to me today as a potential reason for pain. I've just had my bloods back and hcg has increased from 452 on Monday to 1230 today so I'm really pleased with that and feeling hopeful. The nurse was quite confident that it's not ectopic as she wouldn't expect hcg to rise like that if it was. Back on Monday for a scan, I'll be 5+6 then so hoping to see something, and if not, they said they will keep rescanning until they see what they want to see 🙌🏼

Veryxonfused · 05/10/2022 15:59

I had some funny one sided stabbing pains last night & then brown spotting today. Rang the EPU and thankfully they are going to scan me tomorrow. Just thought I’d update in case anyone has the same - it’s definitely worth a ring

hopingthisistheone · 05/10/2022 16:08

Hi all, jumping on here as I'm going out of my mind.

BFP a week ago, PCOS on clomid, 3 miscarriages.

Invited for an early scan yesterday, by dates I'd be around maybe 5 weeks, could even be earlier. No sac seen internally or externally.

Hcg levels done and come back today at just under 2000. Back in tomorrow for another scan to see if they can see anything. They said they can't rule out ectopic at this stage. I'm hoping the reason they didn't see anything was because I'm maybe earlier on that I thought.

Audienceofone · 05/10/2022 16:14

Hey all, I hope someone could help settle my mind a little. Did a few tests to check progression last week and all looked to be going well. Done my first test of this week this morning and it was negative?! Did another different brand and also negative?! I’m freaking out as this is the exact same gestation I was to the day I lost a previous pregnancy

does anyone have any words of wisdom? 😭😭

Audienceofone · 05/10/2022 18:56

Just had some spotting 😓😓 this is all very familiar 💔

NalaNana · 05/10/2022 19:05

@Audienceofone 💔 I'm hoping for the best for you. If you had a positive test last week and are now getting negative tests it sounds like it could be a chemical? X

LavenderWillow · 05/10/2022 19:47

@Audienceofone I’m sorry your tests have gone negative - were you using first urine? Unfortunately sounds like it could be a chemical. I had no idea how common they were until coming on here!

LavenderWillow · 05/10/2022 19:52

I phoned my council health board last week and they phoned back a few days later with a booking appointment over the phone this Friday!
Sooner than I thought - will only be just over 5 weeks on Friday! But will take it!
I’ve booked a private reassurance scan at 6 weeks to check things are in the right place.
going to do the harmony test at 10 weeks also if all goes well.

I’ve been absolutely floored with fatigue. Sleeping all the time and just worn out at work during the day. Hungry all the time and feel sick when I don’t eat, so eating often!

also have been terribly bloated and gassy, with a lot of IBS flare ups. ☹️

ExcitedandNervousC1 · 05/10/2022 19:55

@LavenderWillow I'm thinking of doing the harmony test too! Do you find out the gender with those tests as well?

Hiya, I had a scan on Monday at 4+6 as I was having one sided pain and there was nothing to be seen. The sonographer said that it's only just about possible to see anything at 5 weeks but a lot of the time it's still too early, so don't panic! Have they booked you in for another scan? Hopefully all is well and it's just too early!
I have my next scan next Monday and I will be 5+6 so a little more hopeful that I will see something, but like you at the moment they haven't been able to officially rule out ectopic as they can't see anything. X

hopingthisistheone · 05/10/2022 20:13

@HopingForBaby2 hi love.

yes so they asked me to come in again tomorrow for a scan. i have no idea when I ovulated but my cycle is a bit longer than normal 36 days due to PCOS. so I may not be as far as I hoped, possibly could be the reason for why there was nothing seen.

I'm hoping to get some answers tomorrow, hopefully they see something. If they don't, they'll probably do my bloods again to see what the levels are. They are meant to double every 48hrs.

Praying 🙏

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 05/10/2022 20:26

I'm 4 weeks+5 just had an email through with my booking appointment of 9th November. I'll be just under 10 weeks. Seems quite late but I suppose they may be busy. I'm going to book a private scan in meantime maybe 7 weeks or so. Just for reassurance.

VesperLindt · 05/10/2022 20:44

@HopingForBaby2 sounds like a great increase! Very happy all sounds great for you.

Okapi99 · 05/10/2022 21:22

I got my booking appt next Friday and I've booked an early scan for Sunday. I seem to be getting heartburn 😩

I'm sorry audienceof1, it sounds like my chemical back in Feb x

skyofdiamonds · 05/10/2022 21:29

Hey I’m 5+1 now and the anxiety is killing me, I just want to know there’s a heart beat.

I keep cramping and thinking it’s my body trying to expel the sac.

I had a scan at 5+0 and could see an empty sac in the right place and now completely convinced it will stay empty.

my early symptoms have nearly all disappeared so who knows 😖

its such an agonising wait!

ilovecakes1 · 05/10/2022 22:46

Anyone else keep forgetting to take the pregnancy vitamins with a meal? Not sure why this is a requirement..?

maryd84 · 05/10/2022 23:07

I'm exactly the same @LavenderWillow

maryd84 · 05/10/2022 23:09

If I take them on an empty stomach they make me feel sick@ilovecakes1

tigerlily0 · 06/10/2022 00:29

Has anyone got or ever got a pain behind their belly button, like a stitch which hurts on exertion? I read it could be an umbilical hernia or uterus stretching but that's more 2nd trimester . Never had this pain with my other 2. I don't know who to speak to, the GP or midwives - though iv not had my appt yet

Jess1292x · 06/10/2022 01:05

Hello June mamas, so I am 26 dpo and was in epu since sunday with abdo pains after positive pregnancy test, my hcg is 2678 and i had an internal scan which shows pregnancy in the womb. ive been getting such bad sickness and heartburn and sore boobs since 8dpo id convinced myself i was having twins, im wondering if anyone else sees two little embyros in the sac on this scan from today? top right and bottom left? or am i imagining things.

zinrepus · 06/10/2022 06:25

@tigerlily0 I have been having that too. I think that sometimes if you've been pregnant your body can kick things back into pregnant mode faster (your uterus has stretched before so it's just working to get things in the right place). I mostly just feel like it's really full, but the stitch feeling comes and goes.

Audienceofone · 06/10/2022 08:09

I’m out everyone 💔 good luck to all of you x
