I've just found out I'm expecting my second baby the first week of June 2023 - anyone else? Early days, so being cautious, but can't help feeling excited!

@HopingForBaby2 that sounds really encouraging. When I had my ectopic my levels were only 250 ish at 6 weeks.

ExcitedandNervousC1 · 04/10/2022 12:44

Hi Ladies! New to this chat as super nervous given this is my first pregnancy! AF is due Thursday but tested positive since 10DPO. Planning on waiting until day after AF to do a clear blue digital and then phone the GP is that what people do?

tigerlily0 · 04/10/2022 12:54

Hi all! Can I ask, how come everyone is testing so often and getting early scans? This is my third baby and with my other 2 I don't remember mums getting scans so early and testing etc (what's dpo Hmm) . Iv just tested once and called MW and waiting for a call back, am I supposed to be doing something else?

tigerlily0 · 04/10/2022 12:56

@ExcitedandNervousC1 congratulations! So once you have your positive result, call your GP and they will give you the number of the community midwives . They will take down ur details and either give you an appointment or you will have to wait for an appointment. First appt is usually when you are 8 weeks pregnant and scan around 12 weeks x

thedust · 04/10/2022 13:13

Hello, moving over here from the TTC boards, just had my first positive test! Period not due until Friday. Not told husband yet, this will be our 2nd. We have a DD age 3, she'll be nearly 4 when baby 2 arrives.

NalaNana · 04/10/2022 13:16

Hi @tigerlily0 often women will test every 48 hours to check that the lines are getting darker on the pregnancy tests. As HCG (which is picked up by the tests) is supposed to double every 48 hours, darkening tests provide reassurance that things are progressing as they should. There's no reason for you to be doing this if you don't need that reassurance. Some women do, some don't!

In terms of an early scan, I'll be getting scanned at 6 weeks to check that it's in the right place and not a Fallopian tube as it was last time! I can't comment on others reasons for scans x

NalaNana · 04/10/2022 13:17

@tigerlily0 oh and DPO is days post ovulation x

VesperLindt · 04/10/2022 13:20

@HopingForBaby2 Ive literally had same thing. Went in Fri (5+1) for pain on right ovary, had internal scan and it was corpus luteum cyst, nothing to worry about. Saw empty gestational sac. Hcg at 15k so called me back and said they would’ve expected to see something. Re-scan on Monday (5+4) and saw sac, yolk sac and fetal pole. Hcg doubled on Sunday to 30k so I’m taking it all as positive and that I just have high hcg. Got another scan next Friday. Fingers crossed you get similar result 🤞🏼

tigerlily0 · 04/10/2022 15:55

@NalaNana ahh ok thanks makes sense! With my first 2 I remember doing 2 tests because I was so eager to know and did them 1 day after missed period so they were very faint lines. This time around I waited 4 days because I didn't even believ I could be pregnant, 1 night is all it can take apparently Blush. And The line was super dark. Just waiting for that MW appt now, don't even feel pregnant right now.

maybemumof2 · 04/10/2022 16:00

Tentatively joining as I tested positive today at 12 dpo!

My little girl is 1 on Thursday so I'll be joined the 2 under 2 club and I'm bricking it 😂

Is there a Facebook group set up for June babies? I found mine really supportive in my first pregnancy!

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 04/10/2022 18:30

I'm testing darker in afternoons rather than fmu. Had done twinges and stretching pain today. Not much else. Midwife email says they'll be in touch within 28 days with a booking app.

RegeJeanPageMeOnMyCellphone · 04/10/2022 19:13

Just had a call from the midwife to arrange my booking in appt!

I had the choice of phone call or face to face. I chose a call so I can go and pick up the booklet tomorrow, fill it out and return it to the GP reception. After my appointment she said the information gets sent to the hospital who will contact me with the scan booking.

mimi2538 · 04/10/2022 19:15

So I'm not currently having too many symptoms at the moment, mainly sensitive smell and sore breasts but oh my god when does the cramping stop?! Or is it a full 9 months of cramping? 😂 I keep feeling still like my period is going to come any second even though I've had plenty of positive tests now.

ExcitedandNervousC1 · 04/10/2022 19:16

What week are you @mimi2538 ? I'm only 3+5 and cramps are definitely starting!

Oh that's exciting!! I spoke to my doctor yesterday and got told to call maternity today and they basically told me to not call back until I was at least 7 weeks 😬 no congratulations or anything, felt like I was proper wasting their time and now really don't want to give birth there should baby continue to grow.

I'm 5+3 currently! I've had cramps pretty much since my period was due on the 27th of this month and found out on the 29th that I was pregnant!

I'm 3+5 today too and definitely have crampy belly!

zinrepus · 05/10/2022 08:24

Tentative join. I'm not due on until the weekend, but I just had a whisper of a positive...wouldn't usually test this early, but last night into today I had the stretching feeling I had with my first little guy, which made me break my swearing off early testing. 😂😂😂

It's the stupidly focused trained eyes of the been there done that, but it's there!

ExcitedandNervousC1 · 05/10/2022 08:41

@maybemumof2 great to have someone the same day as me!

@zinrepus I've been getting strong positives but also not due til Friday so going to wait to test then so I can get a more definitive time to celebrate a little. Currently not celebrating at all as too anxious it's so early. Hope yours gets stronger!

Confused31 · 05/10/2022 10:01

Hi - what does the x+y mean for how far along you all are?

I'm about 10dpo and have a positive test - slightly worried about progesterone though as I have PCOS!

Babybaby66 · 05/10/2022 11:23

This is my first post here as I’m pretty early on in my first pregnancy but I’ve got an approx due date of 10th Just so thought I would join the thread to keep up to date with what everyone is doing and feeling! I’ve done about 6 tests now as I couldn’t believe they were positive but I’m trying to calm that down now. Thinking of booking a scan for between 7-8 weeks just as a bit of reassurance…

Babybaby66 · 05/10/2022 11:25

@Confused31 the x + y is weeks and then days so I’m currently 4 weeks 5 days pregs (dated from the first day of my last period) so 4 + 5 :)

Confused31 · 05/10/2022 11:34

Thanks @Babybaby66 !

Yes agreed re early scan!!

ExcitedandNervousC1 · 05/10/2022 11:36

@Babybaby66 yes I'm 3+6 and definitely going to have an early scan. Hoping to wait as close to 8 weeks as I can!

Hbx · 05/10/2022 13:14

Cautiously joining!

i think I’m roughly 4+4 (found out 5 days ago) but I have PCOS and endometriosis so can’t be 100%. I only got 2-3 on clearblue this morning which was worrying, but I only got 1-2 4 days ago so it seems to be going in the right direction.
ive got a scan booked in 6 days due to complex history (I’ve had 6 mc) so hoping to be slightly further on and see a heartbeat ❤️
