I've just found out I'm expecting my second baby the first week of June 2023 - anyone else? Early days, so being cautious, but can't help feeling excited!

I don't feel pregnant at all. Just the fact I've had no period. I do get very bad sickness/HG but I am worried there's something wrong.

Fam0811 · 03/10/2022 09:51

Hi! Found out a week ago that we are pregnant! 11 years after my second!!! Congratulations to all of you 😊I’m feeling slightly scared being nearly 40!
do we call the midwife straight away, I haven’t yet! Also how are you all finding the online booking- I’m in wales and can’t seem to find it any where!
baby dust to you all. Xxx

Fam0811 · 03/10/2022 10:54

Actually never mind on the doctors. Called the docs and they told me I’m not allowed to get in touch until 7 weeks. Soooo that’s annoying 😔 anyone else have to wait until then? X

northerngal20 · 03/10/2022 10:58

@Okapi99 i feel exactly the same. No symptoms at all, around 6 weeks now (i think!) Not even sore boobs and I still feel energetic enough to exercise. It's my second and I'm really hoping that i'm either just really early or my body is just reacting differently to this pregnancy.. fingers crossed all is okay for us both!

fifi113 · 03/10/2022 11:02

@Okapi99 Same here! Last pregnancy I had HG for 7 months. This time round no real nausea at all. Pregnancies can be very different though so I'm not too worried.

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 03/10/2022 11:20

I didn't get much nausea in my first pregnancy. I'm getting a bit nauseous when I smell certain smells. Also haven't had any appetite in days.

Hannah310523 · 03/10/2022 13:13

I know it’s early days but …

How are you all planning on telling people?

we’ve got little baby grows for our parents saying how does grandma and grandad sound :), we have put them in a nice box, with a little teddy comforter and a ceramic heart with the due date on. Can’t wait to give them it x

tigerlily0 · 03/10/2022 15:34

@Fam0811 I'm similar to yourself! I'm 37 and I have an 8 and 6.5 year old. Feel very out of touch with all things pregnancy!

@Okapi99 honestly I'm the same, my last 2 pregnancies I was defo shattered and nauseated by 5 weeks and lasted a good 4/5 months. I'm 5+ 3 and literally nothing. Not even tired. I am getting a bit worried - I was going to do another test to make sure I wasn't imagining it!

I am getting heartburn/indigestion sometimes which I never got for my other 2 throughout my pregnancies. Can't even say it's cos it could a boy or a girl because I have one of each and got similar symptoms both times anyway

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 03/10/2022 16:11

It's all very exciting isn't it 😀I had terrible heartburn with my first, I was guzzling gaviscon! It was agony.

I just had to tell my work about it. Unfortunately have to tell them early for risk issues at work.

Kiara427 · 03/10/2022 16:43

I took a clearblue weeks test today and it said 1-2 which on the leaflet inside says I’m 3-4 weeks! 😃 I didn’t even know I was that far along already!! not long now until I can go for my reassurance scan and see my baby’s heartbeat 💗 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Hannah310523 · 03/10/2022 18:43

We booked in for a reassurance scan at 6 weeks 4 days, but the place rang up and asked us to move it on a week as risk of not seeing the heartbeat. Not sure what to do now because we were so excited! Did anyone else have such an early scan?

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 03/10/2022 18:49

@Hannah310523 I did last pregnancy at 6+2 and I saw a yok and sac. I went for another scan at 7+1 and saw a heartbeat x I'd follow their advice to move it.

I just got a 1-2 weeks on Clearblue ❤

theodora2146 · 03/10/2022 18:55

Does anyone else's symptoms come and go, I'm 5weeks+4 and some days I'm extremely exhausted and then to day I'm tired but not to the point I need a nap. Seems to come in waves.

Kiara427 · 03/10/2022 19:45

Hi!
my urine is like a bright green colour
is this normal during pregnancy?

Are you taking any prenatals? Sometimes they can cause this x

VesperLindt · 03/10/2022 20:01

I had a scan at EPU today at 6+1 and saw gestational sac, yolk sac and fetal pole but no heartbeat so I would leave it a week or two!

B1993 · 03/10/2022 20:38

@Blossomhoney I'm full of cold too 🤧😷

@Algor1thm I think I'd be the same in not trusting a male result. £90 is a lot to spend too, if you don't get the right result.

@Kiara427 You'll have your first appointment between 7-10 weeks, I believe. Mine is booked for 8+5.There's private scanning places who offer reassurance scans from 6 weeks, if you don't want to wait until the dating scan.

@CaliGirl47 Thank you! I'm tempted to do the CB in the morning and see what happens. 😬

B1993 · 03/10/2022 20:47

@Hannah310523 i'm not planning on doing anything too over the top to announce as it's not a first grandchild for anyone and is our second baby. I may get a t-shirt for DS that says 'promoted to big bro' or we may make a card (people are used to getting homemade greeting cards from us).

RE scans, I had an early one with our first. They dated me at 6+2 at the time (I think I was a few extra days based on last period but I know I ovulated later than the standard) and we were able to see the heartbeat by that point.

Tryinforno3 · 03/10/2022 21:42

Just got my 3+ ! Going by last AF I’m 4+6 but I think I’m pretty sure when I ovulated and going by that I’m 5+1. I am a nervous wreck just constantly worrying , wish I could shut my mind off . I’m on the “older” side at almost 37 and haven’t been pregnant for 10 years .Ive got my booking appointment in 5 weeks and scan 11 days later . It’s such a long wait . I just keep thinking of everything that can go wrong . Fingers crossed for us all for the next 9 months X

I just got a dye stealer at 18dpo, and 4+4 so I'm going to stop testing now. I'm undecided about an early scan. I waited until the 12 week scan last time, and ended up having a tfmr, so I think they might advise an earlier one as I'll be under consultant care I think.

CaliGirl47 · 04/10/2022 08:15

Congratulations!! @Tryinforno3 I hope you have a happy and healthy pregnancy. It’s great that you’ve got your booking appointment and scan date. Nice to have something to look forward to.

@Quokka7 What a brilliant dye stealer you’ve got there! 😍

Veryxonfused · 04/10/2022 08:15

Had a moment of panic this morning when I took a test and it appeared lighter. I’ve never really believed the ‘hook effect’ so much but tested it out and it’s actually true!

The top test is 100% urine and bottom test about 30-40% urine and the rest water.
Does anyone know why this is a thing?

It’s proven to me that I probably should stop testing like I said I was going to

I’ve just booked a scan for this weekend, I should be 6+2. Felt sick with nerves just booking it so god knows how I’ll feel on the day.

I had a missed miscarriage last time and the baby stopped growing around 5-6 weeks, so not sure if I’ll get much reassurance from it, but at least I won’t be paranoid about ectopic/molar/every other possibility that might come up

HopingForBaby2 · 04/10/2022 12:13

Hi all,
I haven't posted in a little while as it's all been a bit stressful!! I'm 5 weeks today, I was having some sharp one sided pain on Sunday my walk in centre sent me to to a&e to be scanned as they were concerned it could be ectopic. Sat there for hours to get told they don't scan at night! So was given an appointment at the EPU yesterday morning. They scanned me and couldn't see anything at all, which I kind of expected being only 4+6, but they still couldn't rule out ectopic. So they have temporarily diagnosed it as "pregnancy of unknown location" and took some bloods. I'll be back tomorrow for more bloods to see how my hcg is rising. It's all very worrying but I'm holding onto some hope as I also had my bloods done in a&e on Sunday and they were 347, and yesterdays were 452 (only 12 hours between the tests) so it's on track to be doubling within 48 hours. Fingers crossed for 900 or more tomorrow 🤞🏼 hope all is well with everyone else x

VesperLindt · 04/10/2022 12:29

Ladies, I know you’re all as obsessed with conception as me so help me answer this query! Based on my lmp I am 6+2 today BUT adjusting for my av cycle length (32 days) an online calculator says I’m 5.7 weeks making my +1 week day Thursday, not Sunday. Is that because it’s adjusting for me ovulating 4 days later than if I had a ‘normal’ 28 day cycle? Makes more sense that I only saw gs on internal scan on Friday (would have been 5+1 adjusting for cycle length) and saw gs, yolk sac and fetal pole but not heartbeat on Monday (5+4).
