I've just found out I'm expecting my second baby the first week of June 2023 - anyone else? Early days, so being cautious, but can't help feeling excited!

I have no gut feeling towards what the gender is! Im just hoping it’s not twins as they run in my hubbys family 🤣!

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 02/10/2022 18:26

SIL has both types of twins in her family but 3 babies later she's managed not to have twins 😅

I have no preference on the sex. We have a girl and another girl would be great as she's so easy. DH would love a boy I know as he wanted a boy before. DD is definitely a daddy's girl though so he wouldn't be missing out if it's another girl.

Mummyx100 · 02/10/2022 18:35

Hi joining in found out I'm pregnant a a couple of weeks ago. I hate this part waiting for a midwife appointment, waiting for that 12 week bench mark. It's crazy that I'm in a panic till I see the baby on a scan
Im due June 02

B1993 · 02/10/2022 18:35

@BellaTheDarkOverlord I feel the same about my boy - he's very easy going and is a mummy's boy, which I love because of all the cuddles and kisses ❤️ I think I'd love a girl just to have a different experience but wouldn't be disappointed if I have another boy!

@Hannah310523 Twins!! I don't think I could cope with two at once! 😂

CaliGirl47 · 02/10/2022 19:26

My DH would prefer this baby to be a girl just for practical reasons (hand me down clothes and so baby could share a bedroom with DD) and I would like another girl perhaps since that’s all I’ve known, but I wouldn’t be upset with a boy. As long as they are healthy. 💓

Algor1thm · 02/10/2022 19:27

I'm also hoping for a girl so that I have one of each but will be happy either way 😊 This will be our last baby though so the thought of possibly never having a daughter does make me feel a little sad. We're thinking of getting a private gender scan at 16 weeks and then opening the results on Christmas Day 😁

B1993 · 02/10/2022 19:42

@Algor1thm We had a private gender scan with DS and enjoyed the experience - it’s such a nice idea for a Christmas surprise. I personally don’t think I could resist not having a little peek before! 🫣 😅🤣

I tossed the idea around early on in my last pregnancy for being team yellow but hubby wasn’t keen and said he’d like to know for practicalities sake (choosing names, painting the nursery, buying clothes etc.)

I’m wondering if to do the sneak peek blood test this time around. Apparently it’s 99.9% accurate from 6 weeks so I could potentially know the gender in as little as 2-3 weeks from now! It’s £90 which seems so expensive to me so I’ve not decided either way.

Blossomhoney · 02/10/2022 20:06

I really don’t mind what the sex of the baby is as I have both, I have a feeling we will have a boy this time.
I found out the sex with my other children but would love a surprise this time although it’s so hard to not ask!

@B1993 oh wow I’ve never heard of the sneak a peek blood test!

i’ve had no more brown since the teeny bit last night, I’m still worrying but I know what will be will be and worrying doesn’t change things but I get anxiety anyway so can’t help but worry, wish I could just chill out and take a day at a time.
I’ve been feeling so sick today, I was sick last night after dinner.

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 02/10/2022 20:19

I'd love to find out the sex. Will find out at 20 week scan hopefully. Excited for what it'll be. My SIL has just had one of those 4D scans done and it looks like an alien 😂Definitely has my brother's nose though!

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 02/10/2022 20:22

Question if anyone knows. Does anyone know if a pregnancy is to be consultant led instead of midwife led, do you get booking appointment quicker? I was told a few years back if I was pregnant again I need to be on aspirin asap. I don't know if waiting for the booking app in next 14 days is ok to wait?

B1993 · 02/10/2022 20:31

@Blossomhoney I think that’s the best attitude to have. Worrying won’t change the outcome but hopefully it’s just baby burrowing in and nothing alarming!

I’ve good and bad things about sneak peek. Apparently the results can be VERY easily contaminated by male dna (including dogs!). It means you have to be meticulous in keeping any males away while collecting the blood sample and clean the area/yourself throughly or you’ll get a male result even if it’s a girl. I live with my husband and son so I feel like that’s easier said than done!

@BellaTheDarkOverlord I’m an all or nothing personality so will find out the minute I can, or not at all! 🤣 20 weeks seems far too long to wait…

RE aspirin, I’d contact the EPAU as they’ll be able to advise you on next steps or put you in touch with a consultant if needed.

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 02/10/2022 20:36

@B1993 Haha I get that! 20 weeks seems ages away. I'll contact EPU in morning and see what they suggest. Thanks x

tigerlily0 · 02/10/2022 21:09

I have a boy and a girl, I always said I'd love to have a sister for my girl. Both my kids would love a girl, my son is very loving and loves baby girls.

I'm consultant led due to thyroid and I feel like my levels are all over the place. I'm 5+3 tmrw and going to call the MWs again and explain to them as I need to be referred

B1993 · 02/10/2022 21:11

Since I decided I won't be testing after today, until I take my last CB digital, I decided to do one last cheeky test this evening! 🙈😂

I got a slightly more convincing dye stealer than the morning test!!

Just wondering if this looks good for 18DPO?

@B1993 are those the 10mui ones? I've only used the 25mui strips so don't have any experience of those but it's a strong line and I've seen elsewhere that they don't really get super dark so I'd take it as a win!

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 02/10/2022 21:21

@tigerlily0 Do the MWs refer you to consultant once you've had booking app? I've had previous pregnancy complications - preeclampsia, placenta accreta, HELLP syndrome, and a consultant after said next pregnancy would need consultant led.

tigerlily0 · 02/10/2022 21:26

@BellaTheDarkOverlord I think it is the midwives . For my first pregnancy I had a shit GP who didn't refer me soon enough so I found out who the local consultant was and contacted his secretary and referred myself because I was so upset/scared. The second time I think the MWs did it (it's been 7 years since my last). If you're concerned I think u should call them again and ask. If no luck then maybe ask ur GP

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 02/10/2022 21:40

@tigerlily0 Thanks. I'll try tomorrow and see what they say.

B1993 · 03/10/2022 06:25

@NalaNana Yes, they're the 10mui. I really hope it's a good sign... I still can't help worrying even though everything seems to be going ok now!!

I hope everyone who is consultant led manger to get there referrals soon 😊

Blossomhoney · 03/10/2022 06:44

It is hard not to worry isn’t it, I think from the moment that positive test shows up you worry and you carry on forever (I’ve teenagers and I still worry just for different reasons now)

I am still full of cold, hoping it will go soon.

hope everyone has a good Monday 😃

Algor1thm · 03/10/2022 06:53

@B1993 I know someone who got a false male result from a sneak peek blood test! Personally I wouldn't but that's because if I got a male result I wouldn't trust it

Hi everyone!
I’m new to this pregnancy thing! Haha however when do you start seeing your midwife? Is it 8 weeks? So until then I can’t see a doctor for any reasureance I have to wait until a scan?

Blossomhoney · 03/10/2022 07:30

I am so paranoid I’m going to start bleeding, Literally every time I go to the toilet I’m expecting to see blood.

i think I need to just keep busy and try and chill out.

think I’m gonna step away from the internet for a bit, my anxiety is too much.

will come back in a week.

take care ladies xx

CaliGirl47 · 03/10/2022 08:07

Those lines look amazing! @B1993 👍🏼 I’m sure your CB on Wednesday will be a good result too. Xx

I'm new to it all too it's overwhelming isn't it! I've got my first meeting booked for about 8 weeks then scan I've been told will be about 12-14. I think you can go private and get scans as early as 6 weeks if you want to.
