I've just found out I'm expecting my second baby the first week of June 2023 - anyone else? Early days, so being cautious, but can't help feeling excited!

Feeling absolutely crap the last few days. Constantly hungry and if I don’t eat regularly I feel sick and have a burning sensation in my stomach. But also the thought of food also disgusts me and the longer I leave eat to eat, the worse the idea of food sounds, despite me getting hungrier. Argg

maryd84 · 01/10/2022 20:42

@Veryxonfused I'm constantly hungry too and feel sick if I don't eat often. Feeling really bloated too.

NalaNana · 01/10/2022 20:57

@Quokka7 it will depend on when you implanted etc. I didn't have one at 16DPO and didn't test again until today (19DPO) and it's a dye stealer. I won't be testing again unless I have any worrying symptoms!

Would love to jump on this thread!!

After a chemical pregnancy last month and also last week being poorly and exhausted today I got a positive pregnancy test at 11dpo and my due date will be 12th June ❣️ full of excitement, anxiety and a range of emotions and just hope this little bean sticks!

tigerlily0 · 01/10/2022 21:47

I'm 5+2 today and last week I was shattered and ovary type abdomen pain. Now though I'm feeling nothing. I got sickness with the first at 6 weeks and 4 weeks with my 2 nd. I feel like is this calm before the storm and is it gna hit me soon. I am getting random palpitations though

Algor1thm · 01/10/2022 23:14

I'm now on medication for morning sickness, got in there early before shit really hits the fan (HG in my first pregnancy). For those who are first time mums, just some advice because I didn't know this first time round - you don't have to live with severe nausea and sickness, there are loads of medications that are safe in pregnancy (much safer than not being able to eat and drink) and you don't have to just put up with having your life on hold for months on end. I wish I'd known that before ending up in hospital last time severely dehydrated! Also the earlier you get on medications the more effective they are. Last time I left it too late and was never fully able to get on top of it. So obviously some first trimester nausea is normal, but if you're being sick every day or severely nauseous to the point it's impacting on your ability to eat and drink, make sure you contact your GP 😊

Hi all!

Found out I'm expecting my first baby after a year of trying on Thursday. I can't believe it! Expected due date of 4th of June 2023.
I was naughty and have already bought my first piece of baby wear, I couldn't help myself 🙈
No clue what happens now though, do I just tell my GP?

I feel for you so much, HG is horrific! What meds have you started? My GP prescribed me cyclizine last week which I’ve started taken, I’ve felt nauseous but haven’t yet started vomiting, I think I’m 5w 2d so feel like it’s only a matter of time, it’s awful as I feel like I can’t be excited about being pregnant I’m just feeling dread about being ill 😥

CaliGirl47 · 02/10/2022 07:55

Hi all. A little update. After worrying all week and not feeling many symptoms I woke up this morning (I am 5 weeks today) and got my 3+ on my last remaining clear blue 🥲 Hopefully that means bub is growing okay and not a blighted ovum as my brain kept telling me. 😩🥴 My anxiety is still stronger than any pregnancy symptoms 😔 but I’m just going to try to take this as a good sign that things are progressing. I just need to hang in there and see what the next month brings. I’m not going to do any more POAS with these cheap Poundland tests that I had been doing for progression because they just stressed me out tbh. I’m holding out hope for this June 3rd Due date 💕👶🏻 Does anyone know what HCG level the CB test needs to show 3+? Congratulations to all. 💕👶🏻👶🏻👶🏻

@CaliGirl47 it’s 2,753 to get a 3+ so that’s a brilliant result. Fingers crossed everything goes smoothly for you x

CaliGirl47 · 02/10/2022 08:35

Thank you so much! @Fredthespider That’s brilliant. Xx

B1993 · 02/10/2022 09:23

@mimi2538 There's an online booking form (My pregnancy notes), which is a lot more convenient than going through the gp.

@CaliGirl47 Congrats on the 3+! Try not to worry about the lack of symptoms - it's common for the to start after 6+ weeks. However, with my first pregnancy the only symptom I had was fatigue (barely any neasea, no sickness, not even sore boobs!) and I now have a healthy 3 year old. I don't know how true it is, but minimal symptoms is often associated with boys?! 🤔

Unfortunately my hospital doesn't seem to be covered by it. Their website says there's an online booking form but I cannot for the life of me find the link so I think I'm just gonna have to call on Monday 😩 Thanks though!

B1993 · 02/10/2022 10:35

@mimi2538 That’s annoying!

Has anyone had their early scans yet or got one booked in? I think I will call Thursday morning to arrange mine, as I’ll be 6 weeks from last ‘period’. I looked into the private scanning place that I used with my first, but that seems to have closed down now. They were great and it it wasn’t too far from me so it’s a little disappointing. I’m on the search for one that’s no too far away (I live in a town so most likely going to have to travel to one of the bigger cities) but not sure if it’s best to go by ovulation dates, which would be 6 days later. I know that’ll be much more accurate, but I’m so impatient!

Blossomhoney · 02/10/2022 10:38

Morning ladies!
I had the teeniest bit of brown last night when I wiped, put a pad on and nothing since but I feel like I’m constantly checking to see if I’m going to bleed.
feel like I’ve got mild period pains this morning, so anxious.

B1993 · 02/10/2022 11:32

@Blossomhoney Wishing you lots of sticky baby dust! ✨✨

Blossomhoney · 02/10/2022 11:45

@B1993 thank you, so hard not to worry I’m such an over thinker naturally too.

how are you doing?

B1993 · 02/10/2022 12:42

@Blossomhoney It can be normal and doesn't necessarily mean the worse! I think lots of women actually get brown spotting around the time they miss their period. This pregnancy I had bright red blood but (touch wood) things still seem to be progressing normally! There's really no way to know but really hoping it's not a bad sign for you 💜

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 02/10/2022 12:47

Hi can I join x I got a positive on FRER and cheap easy@home. AF was due Friday but missed it and got first positive yesterday. Very strong positive came up straight away. This is my second after my last 7 years ago. Not many symptoms except stomach turning at any cheese and onion crisps DD eats 😂Even think about the smell is making me heave. Looks like due date around first week June.

Unicorse · 02/10/2022 13:21

Hi all, can I tentatively join please? I have quite a long history of chemicals and early miscarriages as well as the delightfully named 'advanced maternal age' so I'm not sure how long I'll be here for but very much hoping the baby is sticky. This would be my second baby if so, my little girl will be four next month.

I'm 20dpo according to BBT and due date would be around 6th June.

Has anyone else not had a dye stealer yet? My lines are so dark and maybe very slightly darker than the control line but they have been like that for the last 3 days. I've just done another FRER and cried because it's still not a proper dye stealer.

Having such bad cramps today bit like period pain it's giving me anxiety tbh but I've heard this can be normal and no bleeding which is good i guess.

miamiibiza · 02/10/2022 15:55

@fifi113
I know it's stressful but try not to worry.
How are you feeling now?

fifi113 · 02/10/2022 16:07

@miamiibiza definitely still feel the cramps but not as bad, such a strange feeling!

How's everyone's Sunday going?

CaliGirl47 · 02/10/2022 17:32

Thank you for sharing your experience. @B1993 🤗 I’m trying to be rational and just take it one day at a time. Interesting what you said about boys. We will have to wait and see about that one. My first pregnancy I craved all sorts of salty things but that one ended at 12 weeks. I’ve always assumed it was a boy because my 2nd pregnancy with DD I craved all sweet things. We shall have to see what this one brings. 💕 I hope everyone has had a lovely day.

@Blossomhoney Sorry to hear about the stress you had last night. I remember having brown discharge at about this stage 5/6 weeks when I was pregnant with DD before. I think it’s pretty average. And brown blood means old blood which could be from implantation or placenta formation I think. As long as it’s not fresh bright red blood I think it’s probably nothing to worry about. Easier said than done I know. Xx

B1993 · 02/10/2022 18:06

@CaliGirl47 Do you have a preference for baby's gender? I have a big so would love a girl, but ultimately would be happy with a healthy baby!

Does anyone else have a preference? Or even a gut feeling as to what you're having, even in these early days?

RE brown spotting - it can absolutely be nothing to worry about. However, my m/c last month started with brown spotting so it can also be a sign that the pregnancy isn't progressing as it should. I know that's not what anyone will want to hear, especially if you have had any spotting, but I think it really is just a wait and see type of thing unfortunately. Again, it doesn't always mean the worse and can be down to implantation or cervix irritation etc. too, so try not to panic and just take things one day at a time. 💜
