I found out I was pregnant a couple of days ago.

i had a miscarriage about 4 years ago and have since had a successful pregnancy who is my gorgeous DS.

but now I’m pregnant again I have SO much anxiety, I’m terrified of miscarrying.

how do you reassure yourself to calm down? I feel like my head goes completely out of control!

Hi ladies, I thought I’d join the party as I’m in the same boat as you all. Currently 9 weeks pregnant after 2 miscarriages in January and June. Discovered I had a bicornuate uterus with septum, had to have surgery for the septum in August, and then got pregnant again in September. I’ve already had 3 scans at 6, 7 and 8 weeks and 5 days ( after a little bit of spotting) and all looked on track so far. I’m still a total nervous wreck and expecting the worst! I feel like time is moving so slowly, I honestly feel like months have passed since the positive test!

Sprinklerainbows · 30/10/2022 12:27

@Poppy9876 Welcome! Sounds like you’ve had a really rough journey! But you’ve nearly made it this time, so congratulations! I’m 10+ weeks now and feel the same it’s been SO slow, especially with the hickups along the way but we are nearly at the 12 weeks now, and the risk so sooo much lower at this point Xx

@Poppy9876 oh that sounds difficult but oh I'm so glad your pregnancy is going well, them scans are so good for reassurance! Xx

xalexandra · 31/10/2022 14:22

How's everyone doing? I've got my 16 week midwife appt next week! My nausea is still lingering but it's eased a lot! X

Sprinklerainbows · 31/10/2022 18:36

@xalexandra oh how exciting!!! it’s so nice when you finally make contact with your midwife
My sickness is horrendous. I’m praying it goes soon honestly so miserable 🤣 I had mine the whole way through last time

I’ve had my scan moved a week forward as I was going to be over 14 weeks. Now I’ll be 13, which is better! So it’s 2.5 weeks away now xx

Hi all’ I hope everyone is doing okay! Exciting everyone getting their scans now and moving into the 2nd trimester! Eeek.
Mines on 11th November - I’ll be nearly 13 weeks which is annoying as I can’t wait to see and hear everything is okay’ 🤞 xx

Sprinklerainbows · 06/11/2022 20:23

@Cassarat that's exciting! Mine the 17th
Can’t believe we’re nearly there now haha- once that scans over we can finally breath a little. Sooo glad to be 12 weeks this week 😅
my sickness is still horrendous, hoping that will come to an end soon 😩 x

@Sprinklerainbows I'm 16+5 and sickness still here, maybe I'm gonna be one of them people that suffer the whole time! 😒

Sprinklerainbows · 07/11/2022 11:43

@xalexandra oh noooo! That was like my first 😬 up until the day he was born, however it was more manageable towards the end. I can’t bare to imagine doing that again 😅 I’m sick about 5-2 times a day at the moment and I’m so done with it 😵

Sprinklerainbows · 08/11/2022 18:23

has anyone had cramping around 12 weeks? I’ve had cramping on and off for 2-3 days I just can’t for the life of me remember if I had cramping at this stage with my son! I’m getting so anxious again in the lead up to the scan 😩

OP posts:
xalexandra · 08/11/2022 18:51

@Sprinklerainbows I didn't get any cramps but I got a little bit of blood the DAY BEFORE my 12 week scan!!! which panicked me! I think it's normal to be getting cramps at any point. Unless you're in severe pain and it's accompanied by blood then try not to worry too much about it! When's your 12 week scan? X

Sprinklerainbows · 08/11/2022 20:14

@xalexandra oh nooo! That would send me over tbh! The cramping isn’t particularly painful like light period pains, I’m sure it’s normal but I can’t help but worry… always!
my scan is next Thursday! X

xalexandra · 08/11/2022 20:28

@Sprinklerainbows that's completely normal! Oh how exciting not long! 😊

xalexandra · 09/11/2022 11:47

Just had my 16 week midwife appointment today! I'm 17 weeks tomorrow and my next scan is 2nd December so less than 3 weeks till my gender/anomaly scan. Can't believe it!

They listened to the heartbeat today which I wasn't sure they was going to do as I know it's different in every area but she heard it straight away and was all strong and healthy 🥰 such a relief for a little while again till the next scan! Xx

Sprinklerainbows · 09/11/2022 17:51

@xalexandra ah that’s lovely news! I remember clearly that first appointment and hearing the heartbeat, something you’ll never forget 🤍 wow that’s gone fast! Do you Think you’re having a boy or a girl? Xx

OP posts:
xalexandra · 09/11/2022 18:04

@Sprinklerainbows I said I was gonna get another private scan if I didn't hear heart beat today but I think that was enough for me to get through the next couple of weeks! I don't have a feeling either way but everyone says a boy from my scan pics so now I've got it in my head it's a boy! I'll be super surprised if they say girl 😂 all the old wives tales say that all my symptoms suggest I'm having a girl though, even though none of them are factual 😂 x

Sprinklerainbows · 09/11/2022 18:16

@xalexandra oh bless you 🤣🤣🤣 I’ll deffo be booking a private gender scan at 16 weeks 🤣 I’m too impatient
interesting!!! I was convinced my boy was a girl, I even bought girls clothes!!! This time I think boy and it will probs be a girl 🤣🤦🏼‍♀️

OP posts:
xalexandra · 09/11/2022 18:18

@Sprinklerainbows when do you think you'll start buying things or have you started already? As a first timer and my last pregnancy a miscarriage, I just have no idea. I haven't bought one single thing yet, I obviously don't want to leave it till really late on because I love being organised and especially more so because it's the first time, but also I'm like ah jts still too early!! Or is it?! 😂 I still tend to walk past baby stuff in shops. I have made lots of lists but haven't actually looked at anything yet! X

Sprinklerainbows · 09/11/2022 18:24

that’s the thing with pregnancy after a loss, kind of takes the excitement away and replaces it with worry!

No I haven’t got anything yet, I’m in no rush. I think I’ll buy one thing once we know the gender and then just buy stuff if I see something I like! I need to think about pram (to get a double or not etc) I’ve done lots of research but learning from past experience, leaving all the big stuff until last min is a great idea for excitement and space saving 🤣

I think it’s never too early to get clothes! Well after 12 weeks probs but I think I started to buy properly after 20 weeks!

@xalexandra ^

OP posts:
xalexandra · 09/11/2022 18:45

@Sprinklerainbows yeah I agree, my rule was the 20 week scan then I'll start! Once it gets to January and Xmas out the way, I probably will just go crazy!

I bet a double pram is pricey!! But surely needed!

Sprinklerainbows · 09/11/2022 19:02

@xalexandra yes I recon that’s when most start! Are you due in April?

yeah pricy for sure but also my son doesn’t use his pram much (he’s a great walker, he’s been walking since 7 months!)

OP posts:
xalexandra · 09/11/2022 19:18

@Sprinklerainbows I suppose it's just one of them things where you probably won't need it most of the time but there will be that ONE time where you are desperate for it 😂

Yes, 20th April :)
