@Wisher88 @Longbin Hampshire here too, had my booking in appointment yesterday at 10 + 4, she did my bloods too, there are some very odd questions, but I guess it just highlights how different everyone's situations are.

KennAdams · 08/09/2022 14:52

Well I now know why I feel so awful. The hospital have just rung and said my iron level is too low and they want me to go in tomorrow for further blood tests. Hopefully get some tablets or transfusion so can start to feel better.

On another note is anyone just not enjoying pregnancy? I've had several miscarriages and all I can do is stress about it happening again.

KennAdams · 08/09/2022 14:54

Abymol · 08/09/2022 14:29

I had my early scan today at 8+1 baby has a strong heartbeat and a good egg yolk. Measuring bang on for the gestation. I’ll have to wait for my nhs scan to know more details but looks due on the 19th

Cute scan picture 😍

Oh no Kenn, get well soon. Hopefully that’ll be the magic potion you need to feel better.

No, I’m not enjoying this pregnancy yet. I feel too ill to enjoy anything. I literally spend my days watching TV, throwing up and tactically eating beige food to try to keep the worst of it at bay. It’s depressing. I took my dog for a long walk the other day and slept for 3 hours when I got home because even that drained my energy!

I’m quite prematurely browsing cute baby things online to try to stoke a bit of excitement and distract myself.

Such a lovely pic, congratulations @Abymol! Do you know what your measurements were, if you don't mind me asking?
I've been told on Monday I might be 7+5 with 13.7mm baby, and then on Tuesday that I might be 16mm and a 8+1.
So am just curious what others measure at 8+1. I know it all does vary though and the scan measures aren't 100% at this early stage.

I believe it was 1.6 cm. I think they’re all the same size at the same gestation in the first trimester which is how they can figure out a due date.

Wouldloveanother · 08/09/2022 15:51

Mine is 2.3cm at 9+1!

alwaysseeingstars · 08/09/2022 15:58

@Abymol lovely scan photo 😍
@KennAdams sorry to hear about the low iron, hopefully a nice easy fix for you! I have to take iron supplements but I think mine was only slightly on the low side.
@Wouldloveanother I'm with you on the tiredness, really struggling to get through the days at the moment!

Mine was 18.8mm at 8+3 but I think the mapping of length to gestational age varies a bit between places doing the scans depending on which data they/the machine uses.

Looking for help with those of you who have experienced spotting. I only noticed a tinge of pink when I wiped earlier. I’ve phoned EPU and they said most likely an implantation bruise and not to worry as nothing in my knickers etc. said to keep an eye on things for next 3 days. I have booked a private scan for tomorrow (weeks ago I booked it) and the thought of going makes me feel ill. Guess it’s better to find out? 7wk 2 days tomorrow.

I've had spotting a few times. On Saturday night I went to the bathroom and had a bit of light pink when I wiped then again on Sunday morning so put a pad in. Monday & Tuesday I spotting was brown and it's since eased off! I had a private scan on Sunday and all was fine and also had first midwife appt on Tuesday and she advised that as long as it's not getting heavier/bleeding a lot in a pad or there's no cramps or pain then just to monitor it. She said the cervix can get irritated and there's lots of blood vessels there that can cause some bleeding and spotting in the first trimester xx

Abymol · 08/09/2022 17:20

My first child I had a big bleed and thought I’d lost her I was about & weeks and had had two previous miscarriages. She’s now 16

Skylark1990 · 08/09/2022 17:41

Anyone else have very cold feet?? I am worried about my circulation, just such cold feet! And also having some heart palpitations... Anyone else?

Sorry to hear about the spotting worries. I think as others have said for anyone worried, it's very common in early pregnancy. Hopefully nothing to worry about but good to contact the epau/ midwife to be sure!

Congrats on the recent scans 🥰

Longbin · 08/09/2022 17:45

@ClaBro1 I had this last week too, went for a scan and there was no trace of what it could be from so they put it down to hormonal changes.

Omg yes me!! I feel like my body temperature has gone up, my husband keeps telling me when he touches my back it's boiling and I feel roasting but my feet are stone cold!! I've always had bad circulation though. Living in fluffy socks and slippers

Chocolat · 08/09/2022 20:44

Had an early scan, measured 10+1 and all looking good. Looks like little bubba has just been good to me with the lack of symptoms 🥺

MamaMenna · 08/09/2022 21:08

I can't seem to regulate my temperature at all, cold one moment, hot the next. I get Raynaud's and have had that in my fingers suddenly too. No heart palpitations yet, but I remember having them last pregnancy and apparently it's quite common and nothing to worry about. I'm not really feeling sick at all thank goodness, but just really tired and wiped out, basic tasks seem like mountains to climb, which is annoying because I'd like to be exercising to build my strength up

KennAdams · 08/09/2022 22:51

@Skylark1990 coukd you be slightly low on iron? The syntoms you describe can be that of low iron too.

Congratulations @Chocolat, such fantastic news!! X

DBS94 · 09/09/2022 08:11

Ahhh that's so lovely @Chocolat ✨ I feel like 10 weeks in my head is a bit of a mile stone must be a lovely feeling.

Sorry if this is TMI 🙈 but has anyone suffered constipation? I've had it quite bad recently not sure if it's because I've been eating crap and white carbs but I've found that past two times I've managed to go I've had a tiny bit of blood when I wipe (from the front) I'm wondering if it's pressing on something and causing irritation to my cervix? Or am I just making this up 🤣🤣

Skylark1990 · 09/09/2022 08:54

Glad I'm not the only one @DBS94 and @MamaMenna ! I don't think it helps that I'm so wiped out and sick I'm hardly doing any exercise which is good for circulation. And like you @MamaMenna I'd like to build up my strength for labour etc but we will have plenty of time for that in second tri hopefully! 😊

@KennAdams I am prone to low iron and when I was tested in early August if was fine but only just so yes you might be right. Can't ring myself to have my floridix but I'll force it down.

@Chocolat congrats that's wonderful news!

@DBS94 it could be the constipation, maybe get some lactulose to make it a bit easier for you for a few days? X

@Chocolat fantastic news about your scan, and very reassuring as I’ve not got many symptoms at all like you. In fact I convinced myself it was all over as my boobs stopped hurting for a day or so and that’s my only real symptom!

Been swept up by the business of work this week, my manager has asked to meet with me on Monday to discuss extra overtime so I think I’m going to yell
him then as it’ll explain why I don’t want to do as much as I originally thought!

@xttcbabyno1x honestly I really wouldn’t worry about that unless it gets much heavier xx

AliceinSlumberland · 09/09/2022 10:09

@SavedByGraceAlone not sure if it helps but at 7+2 baby was 11.2mm, got another scan a week on weds so really hoping it’s grown!
