Currently lying in bed drinking yet another can of cola Blush the range of foods I can keep down is so limited. I just want the sickness to go so I can do some gentle exercise and eat well again. Feel so grim ☹️ got my diagnosis of hyperemesis yesterday so at least work are off my back.

I was feeling the same, totally beating myself up as I'm usually fairly healthy but have been living off white bread and chips but honestly as long as you're looking after yourself, eat whatever your body accepts! It won't last forever so main priority is eating/drinking whatever makes it more bearable! I've been loving an ice cold lucozade x

MamaMenna · 08/09/2022 11:41

@hopeful2023 thank you, glad to hear all was fine for you. I have my first appointment on Monday so will tell her then and see if a scan is a possibility.

Thanks xx I keep telling myself it feels awful but is usually a sign the pregnancy is going well. Bubs certainly looked happy on the scan so that’s spurred me on a bit!

Wouldloveanother · 08/09/2022 11:53

Ooooh chips that’s what I want 🤤 I may have to send DH to the chippy at lunch…

PuddingBear · 08/09/2022 11:56

I’ve eaten nothing but crisps and milkybars all day 😂

mummatara · 08/09/2022 12:02

@Skylark1990 thanks lovely. I have a scan on sat will be 8+6. All my symptoms went away for a few days last week but they came back in full force 🙈 waves of gagging and constant nausea but no actual vom 🤞🏼 I'm tired but can't sleep all the good stuff 😂 looking forward to Saturday though.

I've had to chase the hosp for my booking appointment today still heard nothing despite referring on the 8th august 🙄 she said oh they are processing it you should hear soon they were much quicker with the last pregnancy I think I referred and got my appointment within a couple of weeks

ballerina90 · 08/09/2022 12:05

Hope everyone's feeling alright today!

Had my first scan this morning and baby is measuring right on track for 7 weeks 1 day and a good strong heartbeat. What a relief! So grateful and so happy to read all of the other lovely news about everyone else's scans the past few days 😍

Now the next hurdle.. Announcing to my parents today. Not sure what their reaction will be, but fingers crossed it'll be mostly positive 😅

Wouldloveanother · 08/09/2022 12:08

Fab news Ballerina 💛

mummatara · 08/09/2022 12:18

Oh I could eat some chips too 🙊 with some sweet chilli sauce

DBS94 · 08/09/2022 12:21

So exciting seeing everyone have their first scans and all going well 🥰

Has anyone had their first appointment with midwife and downloaded the BadgerNotes app? Not sure if this is just a Scottish thing?

Skylark1990 · 08/09/2022 12:23

It's so grim, chips sound like a good idea. I actually just ordered a pizza as my body seems to want that although I'll probably spew it up later. It's expensive being pregnant isn't it! Spending so much money on weird food whims.

Got BadgerNotes in England too!

They didn’t have it for my last pregnancy only 20 months ago so it’s relatively new I think, or at least for my trust.

I like the look of it so far, nice and easy to access your notes.

LauraA31 · 08/09/2022 12:27

Feeling lucky to not have sickness yet!
Im 6+3 today, no sickness but heartburn on a night, feel nauseous before food and my boobs are still sore…. other than that nothing happening!

Part of me wants more symptoms as i don’t feel anything is happening, but then im grateful for no sickness yet haha!

DBS94 · 08/09/2022 12:30

@PuddingBear it's really handy isn't it and I think it'll be so lovely to look back on in a few years. I was so surprised when they mentioned it and I had a look. Only thing is midwife said all my test results would be on it the next day and that was 3 days ago - not worrying though I'm taking it as a good sign that they haven't contacted me 😂

Wisher88 · 08/09/2022 12:31

@DBS94 Yep same for me in Hampshire! My booking appointment is next Thursday. I already filled in loads of stuff on the app with all mine and DH medical history. They said the appointment is at least an hour so can't think what they'll ask me really that they won't already know!

PuddingBear · 08/09/2022 12:34

@DBS94 Yes, no news is good news where results are concerned!

@Wisher88 They take your height, weight, urine sample, blood sample, chat about pregnancy and birth in general, how you’re feeling, how your relationship is etc

Lapin387 · 08/09/2022 13:02

I vomited so much dominos in my previous pregnancies that we’ve banned it this one. I’m struggling with food quantities. If I have two slices of toast it comes back. Think that’s my issue with pizza too, I just can’t stop myself eating loads at once.

I have the week from hell at work next week. Doing extra days, and a certain task that is about as bad with sickness as you can imagine. I don’t know how I’ll do it.

DBS94 · 08/09/2022 13:19

It's so tough isn't it!! My manager is letting me work from home at the moment so during the week I feel okay because im kept busy with working but I've had to cancel all previous weekend plans because I've felt so unwell and that's where it bothers me. Feel like I've left the house twice in the past 3 weeks 😂

Tropicana1 · 08/09/2022 13:42

@Lapin387 quantity is my issue too - If I stick to half portions I'm ok but if I eat a full amount I'm vomiting.

Booking appointment went well, have to see a consultant at 28 weeks and have regular blood monitoring of my bile acids from that point onwards. If my levels get as high as last time may need a c section at 35-36 weeks, if all ok will aim for 39 weeks unless I don't develop it at all in which case could have a natural delivery if I want (although midwife unfortunately thinks it's likely I will develop it and possibly earlier this time than last time)

Longbin · 08/09/2022 13:59

@Wisher88 I'm in Hampshire too. My booking appointment took ages! The midwife was really nice though and seemed good. She did extra things like asked me to breathe into a little straw thing to check carbon monoxide levels which I've never had done before.

Wisher88 · 08/09/2022 14:07

@Longbin ooh sounds exciting! DH is coming with me, he's very excited and it's hopefully going to finally be our first baby! Finally starting to sink in!!!!

They stopped the carbon monoxide test during covid.

That’s standard practice thankfully 😊

I had my early scan today at 8+1 baby has a strong heartbeat and a good egg yolk. Measuring bang on for the gestation. I’ll have to wait for my nhs scan to know more details but looks due on the 19th
