@OttilieKnackered don't worry lovely, the cervix moves around a lot in pregnancy, it's normal for it to go very high! And I don't think you are feeling it being short as the length is basically internal, so you'd have to be sticking your finger inside your cervix to feel the length if that makes sense?? Do you mean it feels firm/ closed? Because that's a good sign. But honestly I wouldn't check it too much as it will just add to your anxiety, they move loads. Sometimes low, sometimes high, sometimes firm, sometimes soft. If you had an incompetent cervix you'd likely have bleeding or spotting. They can also check it at your next scan or you could request they check it if you're worried.
@mummatara welcome back, sorry to hear you were feeling anxious. How are you feeling, have you had an early scan?
@Tropicana1 I think likely you will have extra monitoring to check for it again this time round but like someone else said maybe not until later in the pregnancy. Fingers crossed it doesn't crop up again!
I had part of booking appointment on phone yesterday and next part tomorrow when she will take the bloods etc. I am low risk except for the fact my mum had a blood clot so it's putting me as high risk, but she said to explain to the consultant the reasons around this plus I've had all the clotting tests due to previous miscarriages and they've all come back normal, and then basically the consultant should just put me back to low risk. Don't fancy the idea of going those injections unless actually needed! Mums blood clot as as she was sick and bed bound so don't think it's a hereditary reason. I didn't mention my third degree tear tho, I know usually they'd offer me/tell me to have a c section after having this but I know I don't want a c section so I'm happy if I don't have to argue about this - although not sure if they'd advise it or just offer it? Have some ideas on how to hopefully avoid a bad tear this time which I'm keen to try 😂 will definitely be aiming for a home birth again.
