Ladies I've just gone to the bathroom and got some light pink blood when I wipe. Nothing in the urine and no cramps, I'm 8 weeks - could this be normal? I'm panicking

Heath2330 · 03/09/2022 19:25

@DBS94 can you ring your local epu for some advice? I had a tiny spot of blood when I wiped this morning and had some cramping the last few days I rang spoke to a nurse she told be to put a pad on and ring back if anymore but is probably completely normal luckily I haven't had anymore and the cramps seeem to be more to do with bad constipation I've been at work all day and been absolutely fine so haven't rang back and have private scan on Tuesday but speaking to them deffo put me more at ease and reassured me

faithtrustandixiedust · 03/09/2022 19:41

@Abymol definitely feel like I'm showing already I'm 9+3, I still have a bit of a mum pooch from my now 3 year old so that's not helping but I feel and look so bloated constantly. A friend actually commented today they thought I had a baby belly for a moment but it must just have been how my jumper was sitting, I laughed it off but was a bit like oh.

Hope you are all doing well, I'm feeling miles better these last couple of days and think the sickness is finally letting up a bit, hopefully. Went out for dinner tonight and actually enjoyed it which was nice.

DBS94 · 03/09/2022 20:03

I have an early scan booked in for tomorrow morning so I'm just going to hang off until then as I think midwife would just tell me to monitor it, just went to the loo again and so blood at all so hoping it's maybe an irritated cervix. Have popped a pad in just in case so I can keep an eye on things x

Heath2330 · 03/09/2022 20:04

@DBS94 aw good I hope all goes well at your scan in the morning will keep my fingers crossed for you x

MummyOfBoys2022 · 03/09/2022 20:09

@DBS94 I had this in my last pregnancy I would have pink blood sometimes when I went toilet and then sometimes it was gone but I had a miscarriage not to worry you, because it could be completely different for you but I would definitely mention it to midwife or something and keep and eye on it with my they tried to say mine was probably just a water infection then at my scan there was no heartbeat x

MummyOfBoys2022 · 03/09/2022 20:09

@DBS94 hope everything is fine for you and baby though🤞❤️

Missgemini · 03/09/2022 22:22

@DBS94 i had this once with my last baby. It was completely fine. You also have a scan tomorrow, so it should show how baby is doing. Good luck with the scan :)

Skylark1990 · 04/09/2022 07:57

Congrats on your scans @Emeal123 and @AliceinSlumberland ! Really happy for you, it's lovely seeing the little beans isn't it 🥰🥰

@SavedByGraceAlone you may have got a little bit of thrush if you're finding it very itchy. The progesterone pessaries mess with the pH of our vagina, so it can cause an imbalance of flora down there and cause thrush for some women. My advice would be to do back end for a while as you are, and not put anything else on or in your vagina except water and also get checked out at the GP / but some thrush cream and pessaries so treat it. The cream and pessaries are fine in pregnancy (but double check with doc!) But you need to avoid the oral pill, think it's called fluconazole. A good probiotic supplement can help too. Doing back end should help give front end a bit of a breather! Not glam is it - sorry you're feeling uncomfortable!! X

@chasingtherainbow1 I get all sorts of cramping / twinges too... I'm about 8+5 now. Think it's normal as everything is stretching and changing and lots of blood flow to the area! 🤞

@DBS94 sorry to hear about the spotting, good it has stopped! Very normal to have a little bit. Hope your scan goes well today, let us know 😘

I've been feeling pretty awful last few days but yesterday slightly better I think because I actually had a decent sleep as DD slept better after a few nights v disrupted as she's been ill . I also got some travel sickness wrist bands and not sure if it's placebo but I honestly think they help!! Doesn't get rid of the nausea completely but within five mins of putting on I seem to feel less sick and I wore them all day yesterday and only wretched a couple times and no spewing so I think they help. Recommend! Got mine at Lloyds pharmacy.

I've also been stressing as found a lump in my boob - anyone else have lumpier boobs?

I'm pretty sure I've always had it - a few years ago I actually got it checked out as was worried and they said it was just mammory glands and all healthy, but I have been feeling them more as dropping breastfeeding ATM so checking they're not getting too full, and I feel like there is definitely a bigger lump on one boob. I'm trying not to stress as it's likely the same one as before, but maybe slightly changed due to pregnancy and breastfeeding for nearly two years! And it's smooth and feels similar shape to the other little milk duct type lumps but just bigger. Blergh I just find it easy to fixate, it's like my mind has to worry! I will speak to gp just to get checked but I also feel bad as been going so much recently what with the miscarriages, pregnancy, ear infection, etc! 🤦‍♀️ They must think I'm a right hypochondriac.

In related news DD didn't ask for milk last night so think she's starting to realise milk running out / not what it used to be.... Feel sad but also relieved as it's been painful recently!

Thank you all so much! Scan in two hours so no point stressing as I'll know for sure then. Had nothing during the night but a tiny bit again this morning when wiped - will let you know how it goes x

SavedByGraceAlone · 04/09/2022 09:30

@DBS94 Hope your scan goes well - let us know how it went. I've also woken up with some very light pink spotting this morning.

Skylark, so sorry to hear about the lump, must be pretty scary. I can see why you'd be worried about it. I really hope it's nothing and just caused by pregnancy - but definitely sounds like you need to have it checked. Good job you've spotted it too.
Thank you for advice re thrush, I didn't think of speaking to my GP (they're useless), but maybe you're right it's worth it. Kind of hoping it'll go away by itself! I've noticed a weird mix of light pink spotting and a couple of tiny bright red dots on the loo roll when wiping this morning... So worried now, hope the light spotting is just nothing serious and the bright red is maybe from the irritation down there. Aaaaah, this is all so nerve-wracking.

Also feel like I'm showing already and only 7+5! Had relatives over yesterday and my toddler told me to wear a dress...the red one...it's a summer maxi so quite light and floaty but it was tight and made me look about 4m pregnant 🙈 needless to say I didn't wear that one! Not sure it is bloat and feel like it's def too early to show so think must be more like water retention but who knows 🤷

Congratulations on your scans @Emeal123 @AliceinSlumberland 💫

@DBS94 hope your scan goes well and gives you some answers to your spotting, at least it was light and has stopped now 🤞 still nerve wracking though understably.

@Skylark1990 my toddler keeps tugging and trying to up my supply but feeds are definitely getting shorter. Morning feed today was about 10min where usually is at least 30min!!! It feels like glass shards passing through my nips so it's pretty agonising to nurse atm. I also waning supply doesn't end our BF journey - how on earth do you calm a thrashing tantruming floor thumping screaming toddler without offering boob?! 😱

OttilieKnackered · 04/09/2022 10:02

Hello all.

Around 11:30 last night my nausea, which has been constant and severe for about 3 weeks, stopped really suddenly. Still none this morning. I am nine weeks today. I am panicking hugely at the suddenness.

Can anyone offer any reassurance or advice? I would also like to hear from you I’ve uou have SUDDEN loss of symptoms and a bad outcome, as I want a realistic picture. I had a healthy scan on Friday and just devastated to think it might all have gone wrong since.

LauraA31 · 04/09/2022 12:01

hello all! how is everybody doing 🙂

I am absolutely shattered, hardly sleeping at night now and awake every couple of hours. I also have gone right off food, don’t fancy anything but still super thirsty.
I’m also really irritated, last night my pj’s annoyed me so much they got thrown off and the boyfriend breathing in his sleep also annoyed me, luckily i didn’t act on that hahah!
Is anybody else getting annoyed with their other half, everything boyfriend does is winding me up! He is in a really good mood and joking about but it is making me so mad, his stupid face is also annoying me 😂
I know it’s all hormones but the poor lad can’t catch a break, he is happy he annoys me, he stops acting happy and i tell him off that he is miserable… I feel a right numpty but can’t help it haha! X

Gilm0reGirl · 04/09/2022 14:17

@OttilieKnackered I wouldn't worry much it's probably just that your placenta has taken over, Google will explain it better but it tends to kick in between week 8-12 and helps get rid of a lot of the first trimester sickness. Mine did it around week 11 last time

Skylark1990 · 04/09/2022 14:19

@Margo34 I know, boob fixes everything! Lots of toddlers dry nurse through pregnancy when the milk drops/ dries up so you may not need to wean if you don't want to! I fed DD to sleep for her nap today - it was really nice and actually think I'd rather keep one feed for a bit longer and not completely wean yet... It's so handy when it works and she goes to sleep! Finding that a bit hit or miss these days tho.

@OttilieKnackered sorry you're feeling worried! I would be the same I'm sure but I think it's most likely to just be a brief respite or maybe the sickness is dying down for you... Some only find they have it for a couple weeks, so maybe it was intense but quick or it may come back again tomorrow. I've definitely found my nausea has come and gone although I dont think it's been quite as bad as yours and it hasn't entirely gone suddenly so can't entirely reassure you/ relate but I'm sure someone else has experienced this and all been ok! Let us know how you go on, if you feel very anxious in the next few days perhaps you could get another scan just to check. Xxx

Had my scan this morning and all was well - measuring a few days ahead of what we thought at 8 weeks 4 days and a lovely strong heart beat!

Spoke to them about spotting and they had a look for anything obvious and couldn't see anything but she said it could just be hormonal change or irritated cervix. Had one wipe of pink last night, one this morning and then a tiny bit of brown just there so thinking either old blood or something is just irritated - either way baby is fine for now ✨

@Skylark1990 does the lump feel new? My right boob often feels lumpy whenever I have a hormonal change so it could be up to that, I would get it checked just to be on the safe side but our bodies are going through big change so could be something really minor xx

I've really struggled with sickness since 4 weeks and have been on tablets for the past few weeks but I haven't needed a tablet for the past two days, I'm 9+4 today, it seems to have just stopped. I think it's normal around this time hormones start to settle down a bit

OttilieKnackered · 04/09/2022 16:19

Thank you all. It’s very reassuring. I’m pleased to report I feel pretty nauseous again now (though not as bad as when it was at its peak). Gosh the first trimester is really not fun. I am so envious of women who feel they enjoy pregnancy.

Longbin · 04/09/2022 16:30

@OttilieKnackered mine stopped in my first pregnancy at about 9 weeks very suddenly after consistently being sick since about 5 weeks. I actually went to hospital I was so worried. It was all fine and came back even worse a few days after. This pregnancy I've had it on and off throughout

KennAdams · 04/09/2022 17:19

Glad you're scan went well @DBS94 lovely pic!

Heath2330 · 04/09/2022 17:48

@DBS94 awwwh lovely pic so happy for you that all was ok x

In regard to sickness in 6+5 and so far no sickness however do get sudden waves of nausea and if I smell something I don't like especially tuna I start heaving but so far no actual sickness I know it's not always a bad thing but think I would get some reassurance by being sick as had it in both my other pregnancies although not regularly with my daughter it would just be random every few days whereas my son was religiously as soon as I opened my eyes then would be gone all day

SavedByGraceAlone · 04/09/2022 20:26

@DBS94 Congratulations on the scan, such excellent news!! I've got mine tomorrow... can't wait, but also v nervous! X
