@chasingtherainbow1 it could just be because your uterus is pushing against the nerves there. By 12ish weeks it grows big enough to come above the pubic bone.

@DBS94 my early scan was measuring behind, about 3 days behind when I think I ovulated. But that could be because the measurement was slightly out or it implanted late (although I got implantation cramps at 5dpo so maybe not). I have another scan next week so I'm hoping it will have caught up by then/the measurement is more accurate.

Hi all, sorry I’ve been a bit absent the past few days, I was absolutely sick with worry about my early scan and something going wrong. Had it this morning and everything was perfect, I can’t believe it. Measuring one day ahead at 7w2days and a lovely strong heartbeat that we got a video of. Here’s my little blob!

SavedByGraceAlone · 03/09/2022 13:17

@chasingtherainbow1, I've got the same: random pulls, twinges, stabbing, shooting and lots of period-like cramping. This has been on & off since week 4, really. I'm supposed to be 8 weeks tomorrow. I too worry but also try and hope it's normal - the way I square it in my head is that there's just 'lots going on' down there! :-) Appreciate it's not super scientific though!

SavedByGraceAlone · 03/09/2022 13:21

For those on Cyclogest - do you get any irritation down there? Sorry for tmi, but my front is now so sore and desperately itchy from the pessaries! I've started going for back end since yesterday, but the irritation hasn't gone away just yet. If you've got any tips please share! X

Gilm0reGirl · 03/09/2022 13:27

@AliceinSlumberland congratulations! Lovely scan x

IvyAurora · 03/09/2022 14:55

@SavedByGraceAlone have you tried putting a light coating of Vaseline or similar around the area as a barrier before you insert it?

It might take a few days for the irritation to settle though.

chasingtherainbow1 · 03/09/2022 15:30

@ancienthouse yeah it does feel like nerve pain. Not been as bad since I got up today thankfully.

@SavedByGraceAlone glad it's not just me. Haha yeah o guess there is a lot going on and we're bound to feel something! I don't mind the aches and pains of little one is doing ok. I also had period cramping from 4 weeks but that stopped around week 8 thankfully. Although that worries me initially but had a scan since then and it was all good!

Also I'm on Cyclogest and I have done the back end since I started. I tried one vaginally and couldn't cope with the mess. I've not had any issues other than I think it causes more bloating

chasingtherainbow1 · 03/09/2022 15:30

@AliceinSlumberland congratulations on the scan 💕

Emeal123 · 03/09/2022 16:04

Hi all I had my repeat scan today 💕 two weeks ago they did an abdominal scan and changed my gestation from 6 weeks backwards to 5 weeks and then booked a rescan as couldn’t see anything other than gestational sac due to it being so early. Had the rescan today and they changed my date again and put me back to the original, so went expecting to be 7 weeks and they have measured the baby as 8+2! Internal scan this time saw a lovely strong heartbeat, the yolk sac and foetus! Was a long two week wait but so relieved for the outcome of today’s scan!

hope everyone is ok and managing to enjoy the weekend despite feelings of nausea/sickness/fatigue etc. I’ve been struggling with fatigue massively but all other symptoms have pretty much disappeared!

i have attached the scan pics from 2 weeks ago and from today - crazy how much things change is such a short amount of time!

Anyone else showing already. I’m 7+3 but baby number 4. No bloating today as a tummy bug cleared all that for me. Well ok I’m a bit fat have a big saggy but if skin from a huge previous pregnancy. That’s gone firm instead of saggy so I guess only noticeable by me. I’m now nearly 40 and due to bad health I’m really not fit so maybe showing cause I have no muscle tone??

LauraA31 · 03/09/2022 16:20

@Emeal123 that’s amazing! I’m so happy for you!

I am hoping to have similar results in 2 weeks time 🤞🏻I had a scan on Thursday due to cramps and spotting and expected to be 6 weeks, but was dated 5+3, they could see a sac but nothing else.. this gives me hope! X

AliceinSlumberland · 03/09/2022 17:00

Ah thank you all, I was so nervous and so happy everything was okay.

Ah @Emeal123 ive been wondering how you got on! Absolutely amazing, bet you feel so relieved. Fabulous news.

Emeal123 · 03/09/2022 17:27

@LauraA31 hopefully you have a simile outcome! I just don’t think it’s 100% accurate so early on, I’ve seen a massive difference on the scan today compared to last time.

@AliceinSlumberland Amazing news for you too 😍🎉 xx

SavedByGraceAlone · 03/09/2022 17:43

@LauraA31 and @Emeal123 - exactly the same situation here!
Had a scan two weeks ago due to spotting and cramping, when I thought I was 6+2. But they only saw the sac and a fetus so teeny-weeny that they couldn't reassure me with anything, other than say I might just be earlier than I thought. So am back this coming Monday and so long to see a strong heartbeat and a little healthy blob.
Congratulations @Emeal123 on your beautiful scan!

Emeal123 · 03/09/2022 17:50

@SavedByGraceAlone it definitely was a positive thing for me going back after two weeks so hopefully will be for you too, let us know how you get on xxx

@Emeal123 how was the internal scan? I've got an 8 week private scan tomorrow and feeling quite nervous in case they have to do internal.... x

Emeal123 · 03/09/2022 18:04

@DBS94 i have had them before in the past so I knew what it was like before I went which was helpful as the sonographer didn’t explain it too well but it was completely fine! I found it a lot more comfortable than how a smear test feels and I was focusing on the screen so it was a good distraction. Started with abdominal and did see the baby and heartbeat there, got clearer view with the internal scan however they did say it was completely my choice whether they did it or stayed with abdominal xx

Leanne053 · 03/09/2022 18:18

@Emeal123 lovely scan 🥰! I noticed you said your symptoms have eased, how long did you have them... I'm 6+1 today roughly and started with nausea 3 days ago and it's already wiping me out, I need some good news knowing it'll ease in a few weeks 😂

Emeal123 · 03/09/2022 18:24

@Leanne053 they’ve been coming and going, unfortunately the tiredness seems to be the one that’s sticking around the most so I feel your pain it’s so hard being so tired isn’t it xx

Leanne053 · 03/09/2022 18:28

@Emeal123 at the moment I don't know if the nausea that's making me so tired or the tiredness that's making me nauseous 😅 either way I just want to stop feeling like I've necked a couple of bottles of wine then night before!

cheekysausage · 03/09/2022 18:31

@Emeal123 try not to feel nervous! I find internal scans are not painful and give you the clearest image if you haven’t reached 10 weeks. Top tip - take a deep breath in as the insert the wand. When they move the wand around it feels a bit weird and uncomfortable, but certainly not painful!

Sorry @DBS94 !!

AliceinSlumberland · 03/09/2022 18:43

@DBS94 my scan today at 7 weeks was external but I’ve had internal ones in the past for PCOS and I promise, absolutely nothing to worry about. Literally they only put the tip in and it’s lubed up to the max, no pain at all. I get it might feel a bit embarrassing maybe but they’re very subtle in tbe way they do it - they look at the screen and just reach over to put it in.
