Ladies, looking for your opinion...

Got all my 8 week bloods done yesterday (hep b, Syphillis, full blood count etc). The nurse told me to call today to see if any of the results were back and if not then they'd all be back Friday.

Just phoned GP and receptionist said "some of them are back and they're all normal but I'm not qualified to tell you which ones these are, you need to phone first thing tomorrow and speak to a GP" would you think this is standard or is there maybe something she's seen that I need to speak with a GP? Part of me thinks there's something up but then surely she wouldn't tell me they were normal if they weren't? X

Don't worry - she wouldn't have said the ones that were back were ok if they weren't.

And most things they check for can be corrected if necessary, eg low vitamin d or iron.

I had same thing as you a while ago and got worried. The nurse I spoke to was really nice about it and very reassuring when one of the results was a bit out, had a repeat and it was the same and she was like "oh well that's your normal!"

Probably the last time I'm going to post this now, the fb link if any new joiners would like to join, fb.me/g/p_cfTRgf2gHHw4RF8x/sB76rKMu

Thanks @Longbin , I've requested to join.

@LauraA31 looks like you’re roughly where you thought. The thing is that we can estimate when we ovulated with tests, but can’t say for sure when ovulation and formation of the embryo happened.
Good luck for the next scan xx

Pickles91 · 01/09/2022 17:39

I think 8 weeks is a good time for a scan @Springblooms08 ! Where I live, our first trimester scan is actually at 8ish weeks, not 12ish weeks, so there must be something good about them 😁 I have mine in exactly a week

Springblooms08 · 01/09/2022 17:45

@Pickles91 oh that’s so interesting! And how exciting it’s in a week!

I think I’ll wait to get the letter through to find out when my first NHS scan is, and if it’s around 10 weeks I’ll just hold out for that! If it’s later than I’ll probably cave and book an early one. It’s likely it will be as I’m guessing NHS are dating me two weeks ahead of where I really am. We’ll see soon enough anyway :)

Heath2330 · 01/09/2022 18:27

Sorry this may be a bit TMI but have any of you had loads of discharge? Clear and stringy? It's only happened today and I've got some mild cramping too no bleeding or spotting I'm 6+2

Theowlwhowasafraid · 01/09/2022 19:04

@Heath2330 I have that too! And I had it all through pregnancy with my daughter too so I wouldn’t worry!

Heath2330 · 01/09/2022 19:07

@Theowlwhowasafraid thanks for the reassurance lol my youngest is 10 this month so all this early pregnancy stuff is a distant memory for me lol but glad it seems to be normal and not something to be concerned about 🙈

ClaBro1 · 01/09/2022 19:12

@Longbin does anyone know if it’ll show you joined the fb group?? Worried about it coming up on the newsfeed! 🫣

Wisher88 · 01/09/2022 19:29

@ClaBro1 it's a private group

CinderellaFant · 01/09/2022 19:38

@simplythequest it is an old wives tale that if you raise your arms above your head that the baby's umbilical cord will get wrapped round its neck 😕

chasingtherainbow1 · 01/09/2022 20:33

Had my scan today and all is as it should be. Can see little arms and legs like a little gummy bear! 4th pregnancy and furthest we have got. Hoping it continues to grow in there!

Great pic!! How many weeks are you?

chasingtherainbow1 · 01/09/2022 20:50

@DBS94 thank you 💕 I'm 9w1d. I have ages to wait until the 12 week one which will be when I'm 12w4d. Dunno how I'm going to get through all of that time! 😂🤦🏻‍♀️

Gingermango · 01/09/2022 20:59

I’m 9+3 today, I was actually sick at work for the first time despite taking cyclizine 🙄we are telling work on Monday so I won’t have to hide it then.
I’ve had by booking bloods and have my first app with midwife on Tuesday to go through history etc, then scan on the 21st. Have decided to have a gender scan start of October too so very excited

RabbitJungle · 01/09/2022 22:22

Thoughts please :) I have my booking appt on Monday 12th Sept over the phone. I'm assuming they will ask me to go in for the physical checks (bloods, BP, etc) a few days later, but I'm currently due to be away that week visiting family. Is there any harm asking to go in the week after for the bloods, instead, or should all the checks happen closer together?

Wisher88 · 01/09/2022 22:30

@RabbitJungle a week won't make a difference, just ask the midwives what they would suggest?

Tubbytele · 01/09/2022 23:08

Really lovely scan pics!

DBS94 · 02/09/2022 06:32

Morning lovely lot - happy Friday!

For those of you who have been pregnant before (or anyone experiencing this now) is it normal for morning sickness to come and go? I had awful morning sickness and all day nausea last week to the point I couldn't move but the last 2 days I've woken up completely fine, it's making me worry!! It's funny because when you're feeling so rubbish you pray for it to go away but then when it's not there you miss it as a reassurance 😂

Lapin387 · 02/09/2022 07:02

@DBS94 yes, totally normal. Often worse if you’re really tired or stressed, in my experience anyway!

Heath2330 · 02/09/2022 07:44

I'm 6+3 today and haven't really had any sickness yet I've had some nausea and thrown up and heaved with a tin of tuna but other than that non yet I'm sure it had started by this point with my other 2 so just keeping my fingers crossed all is well and that I'm just lucky on the sickness front 🤞

DBS94 · 02/09/2022 08:01

@lj2022 how are you this morning? Did you have your scan last night? X

DBS94 · 02/09/2022 08:02

Lapin387 · 02/09/2022 07:02

@DBS94 yes, totally normal. Often worse if you’re really tired or stressed, in my experience anyway!

Thank you!!

That makes sense, last week was a crazy busy week at work and stress levels high so could have been why nausea was so bad x

lj2022 · 02/09/2022 08:04

@DBS94 sorry had such a busy night last night. Yes had my scan and everything looks good and healthy and a strong heartbeat and measuring at 8+3 yesterday. I am still spotting again this morning though so going to call early pregnancy for advice as my scan yesterday was a private one. Thank you for checking in on me

@lj2022 ahhh brilliant picture! So glad little bean is doing okay. I have a few friends who had bleeding & spotting all through their pregnancy, I think it is okay as long as not alongside bad cramps or pain? Always good to check with midwife or GP though so you're doing the right thing, let us know what they say x
