Thank you all!

@DBS94 yep it was internal. But it was epau not private so not sure if they'll do it internally if private... Is yours private? She said she could see baby via tummy but the heartbeat wasn't as clear as internally. Haha I haven't tidied up down there in weeks - don't worry, they've seen it all!

Good luck for your scan @chillichillioil !

@Tropicana1 I had this in my last pregnancy, I couldn't eat anything without being very sick and it made it worse to eat. I really feel for you as it's horrible when you're going through it and hard to imagine when you're not. I would force myself to have a bite of something very high calorie and then just hope I kept it down. I would do that every few hours. I would also sip on full fat drinks but tiny mouthfuls. I barely drank water either as I found the feeling of being full made me sick. In the end I carried on being sick but the feeling of being ill went away so I could eat more. Hope you feel better soon

Also another thing, someone recommended b6 for nausea. I've been taking wild nutrition vitamins this time and my nausea is manageable. That might be coincidence though. I took pregnacare or seven seas last time

Wisher88 · 01/09/2022 15:10

Had a call from a midwife and have my booking appointment in the diary for when I'm 8wk! Wahoo!!
Do partners usually go? DH is v excited and wants to come but not sure if this is the done thing?!

DBS94 · 01/09/2022 15:11

Ladies, looking for your opinion...

Got all my 8 week bloods done yesterday (hep b, Syphillis, full blood count etc). The nurse told me to call today to see if any of the results were back and if not then they'd all be back Friday.

Just phoned GP and receptionist said "some of them are back and they're all normal but I'm not qualified to tell you which ones these are, you need to phone first thing tomorrow and speak to a GP" would you think this is standard or is there maybe something she's seen that I need to speak with a GP? Part of me thinks there's something up but then surely she wouldn't tell me they were normal if they weren't? X

@Wisher88 my partner unfortunately has a really busy day at work for my first appointment. He said he'd cancel if he wanted me to but midwife said it's all just blood work and questions so he won't miss anything xx

alwaysseeingstars · 01/09/2022 15:16

@DBS94 please don't worry, I imagine all she meant is that the ones they've had back are normal, she's not allowed to tell you which ones they are, but to call back to speak to the GP tomorrow to get the full results 😊I think she was trying to re-assure you but worded it very badly!

Lapin387 · 01/09/2022 15:35

@DBS94 sounds like they’re fine. I wouldn’t worry at all. I would call back on Monday or Tuesday to check.

Hi ladies, good luck to everyone having scans today, let us know how you get on and sending love. Can anyone recommend a private scan facility in central london? I’m undecided on whether I’m going to have one, I was sure I wouldn’t, but after seeing those Tommy’s stats on the previous page, I think I would feel reassured if I had one at around 8 weeks perhaps.

Emsinmonaco2022 · 01/09/2022 15:39

I had a happy scan this morning - babe showed exactly 7 weeks as expected and a really strong heart beat. Keeping fingers crossed as this will be my double rainbow baby and I'm 39 🤞🏻 xx.

I think 8 weeks is a great time to have a private scan. Far along enough to get an accurate view of what’s going on, but breaks up that looooong 12 week wait. I used window to the womb for my last pregnancy and they were brilliant. I’m sure they’re in london, it’s a big chain.

Springblooms08 · 01/09/2022 15:54

@Wouldloveanother thanks so much, I’ll have a google for them! I’m 6+4 today so perhaps in a couple of weeks if I feel like it will reassure me. Although it’s possible my NHS dating scan will be slightly earlier than 12 weeks, as my LMP was 6th July, but I know I ovulated on 31st July as was tracking!

Longbin · 01/09/2022 16:01

@Springblooms08 I've been to window to the womb in Walthamstow before, they were good

simplythequest · 01/09/2022 16:01

Hi all, I've been lurking for the last few days as I've been so tired! It's been so nice to see everyone's good news and scans 😊 it almost makes me look forward to my own on Saturday, although I'm still terrified there'll be something wrong.

I went to school today to start getting my classroom ready for the kids, and told my headteacher that I'm pregnant. She was so happy, but then proceeded to tell ,e that I'm not allowed to lift heavy things (which I already knew), climb on tables or chairs (which I suppose is common sense 😆) or reach/stretch upwards. Does anyone know why we aren't supposed to do that? Especially because those limitations makes it damp near impossible to sort my classroom on my own!!

Longbin · 01/09/2022 16:09

@simplythequest I'm pretty sure we can stretch, how else would people do yoga and Pilates?! Maybe it's an old wives tale. My mum gets worried about me jogging across the road

DBS94 · 01/09/2022 16:10

@Lapin387 @alwaysseeingstars thanks for the reassurance lovelies, I thought the same too but you always over think it once off the phone 😂 x

Wisher88 · 01/09/2022 16:39

@Emsinmonaco2022 ahh congratulations!!!

Hello everyone!

I'm am currently 5+6 days from calculating from my last period.

I've had such sore boobs and they've grown soo much too and the bloating oh my gosh I look like I am 4 months already! This is my 4th baby and I never had this with my three boys, so it's very different.

I am suffering with headaches and I get cramps and back ache on and off too which I know is normal. Sickness I had throughout my last three pregnancies but this one isn't too bad soo far, I just cannot eat massive meals because I end up feeling over full and then sick 🤣

I start university in October too! My last baby was nearly 7 years ago so I am very scared and anxious!

Longbin · 01/09/2022 17:04

Hello all!

Just got back from hospital, im measuring 5+3, a yolk sac could be seen but there was no fetal pole. The lady thought she could see one but wasn’t 100% sure so she didn’t want to say yes or no. All looks as it should for 5+3 but it puts me a four days behind where i thought, she was not concerned about the bleeding and they have booked me back in for another scan in 2 weeks.

The nurse told me to cancel my private scan, she said it wouldn’t be worth going until i had another NHS scan so going to ring window to the womb and push it back as far as i can. Feeling a bit better but don’t know if it’s normal to see what we saw so early, only one sac in there too haha!

Chocolat · 01/09/2022 17:13

@simplythequest yes I think the stretching is an old wives tale too. I’ve also been told by family members to not bend down to get anything and to not hoover 😂. We’re supposed to do exercise and keep moving so I think it’s fine.

Wouldloveanother · 01/09/2022 17:14

Awww yay chilli! This is definitely the thread of comeback kings isn’t it! Great news 💜

Chocolat · 01/09/2022 17:14

@LauraA31 i think when very early on, dates can vary quite a lot based on measurements so I wouldn’t worry :) hopefully a more definitive answer in 2 weeks
