It’s so hard isn’t it?! During my first pregnancy we were in lockdown and it was my first baby so I could just relax all the time.

Now I’m back at work and with a toddler there’s no time to relax!

Absolutely! Same here, I finished work at 26wks in my first pregnancy as I was furloughed 🙈

Wisher88 · 31/08/2022 23:28

@LauraA31 fingers crossed for you ❤️

Wisher88 · 01/09/2022 06:59

@Matildahoney ahh but I thought we had to have booking all

AliceinSlumberland · 01/09/2022 07:01

@LauraA31 good luck today, got everything crossed for you x

I’m really struggling with anxiety about my scan on Saturday. Just really want everything to be okay.

Wisher88 · 01/09/2022 07:01

@Matildahoney ahh but I thought we had to have booking appointments before ten wks to allow for certain screenings?

Tropicana1 · 01/09/2022 07:55

My booking appointment is next week (8 weeks) but they booked it there and then over the phone when i rang them at 4 and a bit weeks to self refer - crazy how different all the different areas do it

LauraA31 · 01/09/2022 08:09

Thank you all, i shall let you all know how we get on. I’m absolutely terrified of getting the worst news, i know at 6 weeks i won’t be able to see much on an ultrasound but even an indication that things are going in the right direction would be enough… just got to hope for the best this afternoon 🤞🏻

Matildahoney · 01/09/2022 08:27

@Wisher88 no one has told me that.

Matildahoney · 01/09/2022 08:38

@Wisher88 just looked at the NHS website, it says before 10 weeks so I'll be ringing them at 9am!!

IvyAurora · 01/09/2022 09:02

Hope you're all doing well!

Good luck @LauraA31 - do update us if you have the energy.

I'm feeling really low today which I hope is a blip! I'm used to exercising for my mental health but it just makes me so sick and breathless, I darent go to a class.

Does anyone else feel their blood sugar is all over the place from eating bits and bobs to stave off sickness?

Chocolat · 01/09/2022 09:12

Morning everyone.

@LauraA31 good luck today. I had some pink spotting a few weeks ago and none since, so hopefully will be ok for you too.

@IvyAurora yes I feel the same re eating. Snacking a lot more than usual and feel like I’m going to cause gestational diabetes or a lot of weight gain 😂. Especially because the only snacks I can tolerate are crisps and chocolate 🤦🏽‍♀️

I haven’t exercised for months and also feel it’s starting to affect my mood so plan to definitely start again this month.

Wouldloveanother · 01/09/2022 09:21

Good luck for today Laura ♥️ fingers crossed you get a promising scan.

8+1 today and feeling much better today - the ‘ill’ feeling has lifted, I was sick this morning but I don’t mind that as it clear my stomach and the nausea 🤢 just had some toast and feeling more or less my usual self. PLEASE let that be it because the last 10 days have been debilitating! 🤞🏻

Scan on Tuesday morning, which is something to look forward to, all being well. Really hoping it goes ok, the sickness stays away and I can start to relax into the pregnancy.

I’m still off work today, and plan to go back on Monday if I carry on improving. Just need a couple of days to rest now, rehydrate and get myself together. I don’t want to go back too soon, start feeling ill again and then have to go through the rigmarole of another sick note. Im going to try to walk down to the beach later as I’m desperate for some fresh air and sunlight after being cooped up at home for days on end.

Skylark we are 2/3 through our first trimester 🥳 only 4 weeks to go!

Wisher88 · 01/09/2022 09:28

@Matildahoney haha too right! I'm only 6 weeks but I'm tempted to call as if I wait for them I might not have my work diary with me!

Gilm0reGirl · 01/09/2022 09:28

Good morning! We caved yesterday and had an early scan, earlier then planned anyway as we had one booked for the 12th originally.

Anyway yesterday we realised that 4 years ago on the 31st august we went for an early scan with our daughter who was measuring at 6+4. And yesterday I was 6+4 with this one. I knew I'd measure a bit further behind (which we did 5+5) but there was a lovely strong heartbeat and it was wonderfully nostalgic.

This whole pregnancy we have really felt my dads presence from the dream I had the light before I got my BFP telling me I was pregnant, to my daughter suddenly chatting to someone not there and also running up
To a bench on a walk last week and shouting "hi grandad!" And sitting down on it. It feels like it's all meant to be, I really hope it all has a happy ending.

Hope everyone has a lovely day and the nausea/morning sickness/exhaustion isn't too bad x

Matildahoney · 01/09/2022 09:32

@Wisher88 just spoken to them, they said they have a bit of a back log and are working through those that have been flagged as having health conditions etc first, but I should have a call by the end of next week & not too worry! She did give me my 12 week scan date though, by then I'll be 13+4! Argh so frustrating, so long to wait!!!
I don't care about work, they'll get told I'm going and that's that! Far more important.

Abymol · 01/09/2022 09:43

Is anyone finding certain foods too sweet? Honestly oh opened ul
a box of mini tea cakes yesterday even the smell was too sweet. I’m also finding sports drinks too sweet. Maybe it’s just my age.

Longbin · 01/09/2022 10:00

@Abymol I am the opposite, I found my pizza too savoury so put honey on it. Love actual sweets at the moment too

Emeal123 · 01/09/2022 10:09

One of my best friends has set up a surprise for 5 of us tomorrow to ask us to be her bridesmaids for her wedding in Barcelona on may 8th!! I haven’t told her yet that I’m pregnant and wanted to wait until I am a bit further along but no idea what to do or how to react tomorrow when there are so many people there and I more than likely won’t be able to be at her wedding.. I have found out accidentally about her plans for tomorrow and am sworn to secrecy as she is so excited to surprise us. No idea what to do?! Other than go along with it and then speak to her 1:1 afterwards 🤦🏼‍♀️😅 anyone else been in any type of similar situation?

chasingtherainbow1 · 01/09/2022 10:13

I'm 9 weeks exactly today and have a scan later. I still haven't had much sickness but have food aversions and @Abymol like you said I'm finding things a bit sweet. But it's not things like chocolate etc. i have gluten free bread and the thought of eating that feels like it's too sweet. Bizarre! I'm also a bit off dairy products too!

I'm a little worried about the scan because I don't have very many symptoms at all and feel like my boob pain has eased too/ I've had a mmc before so im a bit anxious about the scan. Preying it goes ok!

lj2022 · 01/09/2022 10:32

Hope everyone's doing well and it's lovely seeing other peoples early scans. I'm 8+2 today and I've had spotting yesterday morning and this morning plus no pregnancy symptoms anymore so I'm super nervous about my early scan tonight and honestly preparing myself for the worst because anything else is a bonus. Just when I started letting my guard down about being 8 weeks the spotting had to start 😩

DBS94 · 01/09/2022 10:35

@Gilm0reGirl gosh that gave me a wee lump in my throat! How lovely! I'm so glad you got to see a heartbeat. We've booked an early scan for Sunday, according to first day of last period I'll be 8+1 and feeling a bit nervous but you've just got me excited! X

Bub20 · 01/09/2022 10:35

Good luck to everyone with scans today ❤ keeping everything crossed for you all! X

DBS94 · 01/09/2022 10:36

@lj2022 so sorry to hear this!! Please keep us updated once you've had your scan. I'm just coming up to 8 weeks and I've notice a decrease in my symptoms a lot too but im trying to tell myself it's normal and they come and go xx

lj2022 · 01/09/2022 10:37

@DBS94 it's so nerve wracking isn't it when the symptoms east but I'm trying
To go by that my mum had very minimal symptoms when pregnant and that I might take after her. Will post how I got on tonight. It's going to be a long day

AliceinSlumberland · 01/09/2022 10:49

@Gilm0reGirl fantastic news!! So lovely to see a heartbeat.

@Emeal123 personally I’d go along with it and then just tell her 1:1 in a few weeks.

Oh my god just looked at what I’d get for maternity pay - Jesus Christ!! I’m the higher earner so it’ll be a big hit for us. Need to get saving over the next few months. We’ve got a high mortgage over a short term at the minute so currently on hold to try and extend that and then hopefully save some money.
