@cheekysausage oh wow, congrats!! How's your partner taken the news?!
@Leanne053 no advice but keen on the answers as I'm sick of being so bloated 😫

Theowlwhowasafraid · 29/08/2022 06:42

@SavedByGraceAlone yes I did! Was sore but also relieved that’s where it was coming from, it stopped the day after and I think I had a bit more the following day but then it went. Don’t think it’s anything to worry about although I did get piles towards the end lol

Catkinder · 29/08/2022 08:43

Did anyone find the Facebook group link?
I don't think I can post it because not an admin.
Getting a bit lost on here..!

Hope everyone is doing well 😊

I have some pulling and twinging in my lower right abdomen this morning, really hurt when I sneezed, I'm 9+1 would you be concerned & get it checked? First time mum here, could be perfectly normal, but it's much more than the twinges I have been getting.

Heath2330 · 29/08/2022 09:44

Are any of you struggling with constipation 🙈 any ideas what you can have over the counter it's driving me mad x

Brunette1652 · 29/08/2022 11:21

Has anyone been on holiday when 9/10 weeks pregnant? We are due to go to portugal but I was so unwell last week we wanted to cancel it but we will lose out on the whole price of the holiday, did anyone go away and feel ok around this time? I’m just in such two minds about it and we have until tomorrow to decide what we are doing to try move it to next year

Lapin387 · 29/08/2022 11:33

@Heath2330 get laxido. I put it in lemonade and it isn’t so terrible that way.

BecksLouise · 29/08/2022 12:31

@Matildahoney I had the same with sneezing, I did have a reassurance scan (not because of the pain) and all was fine at 7+6. I’m guessing it’s because of the contraction of muscles when we sneeze? First time Mum as well so I don’t really have a clue

Margo34 · 29/08/2022 12:32

Those of you who are breastfeeding older babies/toddlers, has anyone noticed a change in their milk yet? My toddler only usually feeds off one side and I noticed this morning that my other side is back to colostrum already?! I'm only 6+6. I wasn't expecting this to happen until much later in pregnancy! I'm half colostrum and half mature milk 🙈 My toddler has been nursing more the last week too, am I drying up or switching over already?! Anyone else still nursing have this?

Tubbytele · 29/08/2022 13:04

@Margo34 my toddler has been asking for more bm than usual since I've become pregnant. I also only feed from one side as he was extremely fussy from birth but though both breasts are extremely sore, I havent noticed any colostrum yet.

Matildahoney · 29/08/2022 13:39

Thanks @BecksLouise it's normally been ok, just today not, all very odd & trying not to read too much into things!!

Willbe2under2 · 29/08/2022 15:50

@Margo34 I definitely feel like my just turned 1yo is asking for it more, I'm beginning to think I need to start weaning her off for naps (especially as I'm going back to work soon). I also feel like she's a bit more unsettled when she's with me, as if she senses something is different.

AliceinSlumberland · 29/08/2022 15:58

Can I just moan about my boobs for a minute? I realise this is a petty problem really but I already had big boobs for my body and I always feel like they make me look much larger than I am in top. Tops with buttons often have a hole in the buttons etc and I try and get clothes which minimise them. Now they are even bigger, my bra feels uncomfortable and they hurt even when working. My tops look smaller because of them and I feel frumpy and rubbish. I bought a bra a size up and it’s still too small lol. Obviously a small price to pay for being pregnant and I’m so happy but just wanted to have a moan.

On the plus side I bought some non-wired bra things from primark to wear around the house as going without is really sore and they’re really comfy.

Gilm0reGirl · 29/08/2022 16:59

@Brunette1652 I travelled during the first trimester last time when I was so ill. It was a very close friends wedding abroad and I didn't want to miss it. Yes the flight was rough, the transfer was worse, and yes I felt horrid while I was out there. However you might be fine at the 9-10 week mark, every pregnancy is so different, hormones are meant to peak around then but you just won't know which side you'll be on until you're in it. We are going on a 2 week holiday this time when I will be 9+4-11+4 weeks and chose not to cancel it. My advice is

-take your own sick bags for the flight (lots of them) and ones you can seal up will be even better, a friend told me to take zip lock bags inside them too which I thought was genius.

  • mint and ginger sweets to suck on. -something nice to smell (mint oil is good, flight food doesn't smell great and I find planes smell anyway),
  • lots of antibacterial gel and wipes to clean down everything,
  • food and drinks you can tolerate for the flight that might help
  • travel sickness bands work for some people
  • mention it to the crew when you board and they will normally keep an eye on you and make sure you've got water etc.
  • I had an eye mask which helped last time with my headphones in just to zone out, can't do that this time with a 3 year old though 😩
  • lastly if you're staying in a hotel where you'll be eating what they've prepared, be it all inclusive or half board etc, speak to reception if you're suffering with the food choices. It's obviously easier if you're self catering or going out to eat but I've been there when it's an all inclusive and you can't find anything to eat that doesn't make you feel rubbish. We emailed where we are staying as I'm also plant based and they were so wonderful and told me to speak to the head chef when we book each place as they can cater for these sorts of things without a fuss. Lots of places will do things like that, they don't want you feeling ill all holiday.
Gilm0reGirl · 29/08/2022 17:05

@AliceinSlumberland ooohhhh yes! I hear you. Sad fact is our rib cage also expands as well as the boobs getting bigger, I feel your pain entirely it's one of the parts I don't like, don't mind the boobs so much but I'm
Already a 36 back, and Ill jump straight up to a 38 now which is just not the easiest size to find bras in. H&M do lovely, comfortable maternity bras (size depending oc) as do bravissimo but they are so pricey, it's so expensive being a pregnant woman sometimes.

Chocolat · 29/08/2022 17:39

Hi all joining from thread 3 (a bit late I see 😅). 9 weeks tomorrow and have been feeling pretty miserable for the last 2 weeks. Constantly tired and nauseous with random food aversions that just keep coming. Luckily not been sick yet.

BecksLouise · 29/08/2022 17:42

@Gilm0reGirl thanks for the tips, I’ll be 16weeks when I go away so I’m hoping morning sickness has calmed down by then but I don’t think it’s going to be the same type of holiday I was planning when I first booked haha!

Wouldloveanother · 29/08/2022 17:42

Hi Chocolat glad you found us! I’m just the same… I can’t put my finger on what it is but I feel awful with constant nausea, occasional vomiting, food aversions and a ‘pressury’ head. It’s really getting me down today. Trying to think back to when it passed with DD, I think the ‘poorly’ feeling passed at 10ish weeks but I kept randomly vomiting until about 23. I can handle the vomiting it’s the nausea and feeling ill that I can’t deal with.

Tropicana1 · 29/08/2022 18:02

Anyone else feel like their nipples have been rubbed with sandpaper?! Ouchh!

DBS94 · 29/08/2022 18:06

Tropicana1 · 29/08/2022 18:02

Anyone else feel like their nipples have been rubbed with sandpaper?! Ouchh!

Yessss!! I caught mine the other day whilst brushing my hair and let out the biggest yelp! Bloody agony

Chocolat · 29/08/2022 18:11

@Wouldloveanother yes this feeling is the worst! Just feel constantly ‘ill’. That’s good to know that it settled by 10 weeks with DD. This is my first pregnancy and so thought this was going to be the next 30 weeks haha. I have an exam to prepare for and do before I hopefully go on mat leave which seems impossible right now! How far along are you again?

@Tropicana1 yes the nipples were so bad! Slightly settled or I’ve got used to them 😅

Matildahoney · 29/08/2022 18:45

@Tropicana1 yep sore as anything, my oh caught one last night, I yelped! He felt awful bless him, I'm wondering if nipple pain is this bad now, how on earth in supposed to breast feed!!

Brunette1652 · 29/08/2022 20:34

@Gilm0reGirl thank you so so much for a such a detailed reply! We are going to go for it thank you so much for all your helpful tips
