@RedElleJ that's rubbish I would phone them up and ask to change to the other one. You should be able to ask all the questions and get reassurance during your visits so defo look into changing!

I was offered the 2nd booster but refused it but took the flu vaccine and whooping cough vaccine and was fine with both of them. I'm worried about the risk of covid in general catching it, but not enough to get the vaccine because when I had my miscarriage in March I was triple vaccined at the time and feel as though if it didn't help me then it's not going to help me now. My anxiety is overall catching so whether I had the vaccine or not I'd still have the same fear given what happened I totally put it down to covid whether it was or not we'll never know.

@RedElleJ sorry you had such a negative experience, as others have said, definitely advocate to get the nice one next time!

I've got my Covid booster booked for Monday. Personally the research about the dangers of Covid in the third trimester made me feel it's important but appreciate that everyone needs to make their own decisions.

@Lmcc88 I forgot we were due date pals 😊

@Hagster due date pals! 🥰

I think that would be a lovely birthday to have! Are you hoping to go on that date or are you not fussed?

MooBugz · 03/11/2022 20:12

Aww @Hagster I'm glad you rearranged the list into date order I thought it was just me that was wanting to do that 🤣🙈

Curious about how others feel on the covid booster front? I o pressure don't add need to give opinion if you don't want. My last chat with the midwife she left with me to think about it for the next appointment which in all honestly I haven't really until just there. So part of me open to having it but also scared of making the wrong decision after everything 😵‍💫

OP posts:
Hagster · 03/11/2022 20:31

@Lmcc88 everyone keeps saying it'd be a lovely birthday but I feel that since I'm having a girl and her surname is already a bit of an innuendo (thanks DH) it might all be a bit of a pain for her! I don't mind though. As long as she gets here safely, she can deal with the jokes. Work colleagues think we should call her Valentina or Aphrodite 🤦🏻‍♀️

@Moobugz I know, couldn't help myself but to rearrange 😂🙈

Lmcc88 · 03/11/2022 20:52

@Hagster Haha! I think it would be cute to take her on little valentines dates! But as you say as long as safe arrival date doesn’t matter!

we’ve had Valentino as well! 😂

STom2 · 04/11/2022 07:55

Loving the dates update! Have been wondering for a while if we should do this. Added mine below.

Been quiet recently as it was DS 2nd birthday and have had family visiting. But nothing to report from me. Need to get around to booking my whooping cough and flu vaccines. On the covid booster, I've had mine and had zero adverse effects. Didn't even feel need to take a paracetamol. I equally felt the risk of getting covid in 3rd trimester outweighed the vaccine risk so I was happy to get it.

Hi all

I cant figure out how to copy and paste the list and add myself on I'm terrible at this stuff sorry! Pretty please could somebody add me on?!

madeinthe80z - 13/02/23 - surprise

How is everyone doing? Thabk goodness it's Friday! Is anyone who is on 2nd+ baby going to do any classes or anything in particular to prepare?! I'm kinda feeling like I should as it will be 3.5 years since I had a newborn but I also feel mostly OK about it! I keep getting adverts on Facebook for this free 2 hour online class which I think someone mentioned they had been on. Maybe I'll sign up when I start mat leave for something to do 🤣

MooBugz · 04/11/2022 08:30

@madeinthe80z I'm in baby #4 and I never went to any antenatal classes after my first born. I actually found the classes to be crap and not true to what to actually expect lol but each ti their own if you found it useful the first time then no harm for a refresh! We're all winging the mum life though haha.

Also guys re booster I've provisionally booked myself in to get it in the 14th and just after doing so found out a girl I work with has covid now 🙈 let the anxiety games recommence...

@MooBugz I'm also nervous to get the booster. Similar reasons to you. And I had covid in June and been exposed to it since and haven't caught it so clearly have some antibodies atm. Ofc not sure how long they will last. I've had 3 shots already a d covid twice.... ATM I have decided not to get it but I'll see how I go... Having flu and whooping cough vaccines in a couple weeks.

WonderWoop · 04/11/2022 10:39

Really not sure what to do about the booster either. Need to do some reading.
Adding my due date 😊

I will deffo not be getting the covid booster.

Has anyone thought birth plans yet? I asked my midwife when we discuss and she said 36 weeks which surprised me as my son was born at 37 weeks! I'm choosing between VBAC and elective caesarean, I had an emergency one last time which I'd like to avoid. I think I'm leaning towards an elective but the recovery with a toddler is putting me off.. it actually wasn't that bad last time but would be nice to up and about easier/sooner and be able to pick my eldest up, do his school runs and be able to drive etc. Terrified of a VBAC though! If I have an elective they said it'll be at 39+4 which is over two weeks after my son was born so I fear I'll end up going into labour and having an emergency one again if they book it that late! Im expecting another early baby and braced myself for end of Jan.. booked my leave to start at 36 weeks so I actually get a week this time before they arrive but perhaps I'll be waiting a while Grin

Hi everyone!

I’ve been so inactive too but lurking.

My little one seems to have a few quiet hours then gives loads of kicks but like you @RedElleJ it varies in intensity.

Ah so many of us are so close in dates.

Triple date buddies @Lmcc88 & @Hagster !!

Im having whooping cough and flu on Tuesday! Unsure about covid jab to be honest as I feel we don’t have enough risk to consider me getting it. Both work from home limited visitors, no little ones in nursery or school etc. I’m going to talk to the midwife about it though. X

OceanbreezeSun · 04/11/2022 11:52

Hi everyone,
It’s good to catch up! I hope you are all feeling ok. I’ve been quiet on here too, been a busy few weeks.

I’m 28 weeks on Monday! Eeek!
I feel huge at the moment, ds has moved positions and my bump feels very centred and looks more pointy, where as before he was more spread out 🤣 getting a wee bit uncomfortable sleeping but it helps to wedge a cushion underneath bump.
He kicks a lot after I’ve eaten too, I think he must have his favourite foods!

@MooBugz I’m sorry to hear you’ve had a stressful few weeks with mil.
I sympathise. My mil has never been involved tbh (we live 90 mins away), but she creates unnecessary dramas in other areas and is very negative. We don’t see her much, once every 2/3 months, I’m polite with her and will give her a hug but we don’t have a close relationship. Luckily, dd is close to her other grandparents and has lots of aunties, uncles & cousins from both sides of the family.

I’ve not had any of the covid jabs, I did a lot of research, personal choice. I caught covid for the first time earlier this year & it was very mild, abit of a sore throat & sniffly for about 2 days, so will have some antibodies. I’ve never had the flu jab so won’t be having that either, but having the whooping cough one (which I did with dd) next week at my 28 week appointment.

Ah, it’s so good to see all the due days below! I’ve added mine, my original date was 4th Feb but I measured 6 days ahead at dating scan. Our Dd was a week later then due date so 50/50, Ds could be Jan or Feb!

Rubes1234 · 04/11/2022 11:56

I’ve thought loads about birth plan at the minute to be honest @doingitalllagain and I’m just trying not to make any plans in my head for them to give me a different one.
My appointment with the consultant last week just left me a little confused. She did say at the moment there’s a few things going against me for natural birth but they will basically decide at 28 weeks because they will need to book section for 36 weeks as it’s getting busy for elective sections already Jan/Feb 🤷🏻‍♀️
Placenta is still quite low and anterior. Fibroid is pushing into the top of the womb and stomach so it’s making it like figure of 8 shape. Baby is breech and they don’t think she will manage to turn for birth given the size of fibroid already with 15 weeks to go.

So my birth plan is solely dependent on the 28 week appointment and what’s changed at that point. which scares me but I also know there’s nothing I can really do. Just have to wait. I don’t think I’m scared of the section it’s self more the recovery and not being able to do as much as I will want too early on. 😓

Has anyone had the diabetes test or has it upcoming?

doingitalllagain · 04/11/2022 12:00

Try not to worry @Rubes1234, I had a stubborn breech baby who never turned and a section and the recovery really wasn't as bad as I expected. I have a very neat tidy scar and no lingering issues at all! I only worry about the recovery of a second one as this time I have a toddler to run around after and carry too but loads of mums do it and either way we will be fine. I hope you get the birth you want!

I've got my GTT on the 22nd Nov the same day as my 28 week appointment. I'm going to try and open the birth plan dialogue early as 36 weeks feels too late as you say they could be booked up! Will see what I can get out of them on that day Grin

OceanbreezeSun · 04/11/2022 12:01

@Rubes1234
I had the GD test a few days ago. It was all clear, thankfully. The midwife was abit late so I was there for 2.5 hours altogether. It wasn’t so bad, I had my kindle with me so it went quite quickly.

Skylark1990 · 04/11/2022 12:18

@doingitalllagain if you would rather avoid a section but you're scared of a vbac, have you done some reading on birth choices or considered doing a hypnobirthing course, if not already? This could really reassure you / help with your decision. Vbac risks are very low, and I think at least 70% of the time it's successful, especially if you went into labour last time, your body has at least done the labour part! I really like the Positive Birth Book by Milli Hill and there are some books specifically about vbac too.

Rubes1234 · 04/11/2022 13:18

Oooh thats really good to know @doingitalllagain and I feel you fear of it being harder with a little one, a toddler and then the mum guilt on top of it all! You will manage if it comes to that though. I couldn’t believe it when they said it’s getting busy for elective sections already! My area only has three hospitals that will do a section over the full trust area. I’m happy they seem quite proactive about it. Deffo squeeze them for more info!

ooooh that’s good to know! @OceanbreezeSun. Was it the drink? How was it on an empty stomach.

Im hoping mine comes back clear too, my partner and parents are diabetic so I’ve been sneaking a go of all their blood machines after evening meals to check what my sugars are and they’ve all been in normal range so fingers crossed! X

OceanbreezeSun · 04/11/2022 13:32

@Rubes1234 Yes it was the drink, wasn’t so bad, just abit sweet and syrupy. I don’t usually eat breakfast till about 9.30/10am, so didn’t feel ill having it in an empty stomach. I made sure I had a good tea the night before!
My dad has type 2 diabetes ( but it’s in remission) they said I should still do it anyway. It’s good they do these checks. I am thirsty all the time, drinking lots of water, so was abit worried that was a sign of gestational diabetes.

That’s positive about the self tests being in normal range - sounds like you should be ok!
Just bring a good book or download a movie on your phone 😄

drV · 04/11/2022 13:41

Hi all, sorry for joining this thread so late, found it only now ! My baby is due on Feb 19th, my first baby after 2 MC s.. hoping everything will go well this time 🤞🏻🙏🏻

MooBugz · 04/11/2022 13:47

@Rubes1234 I have my diabetes test in the 14th and my dad is diabetic but I've always been in normal range with my other pregnancies.

@Skylark1990 that's what I did went for the two then opted out the booster. Tbh I'm still in the fence even having booked it because I did it out of fear last night and also the nhs website is very much vaccine driven and not an unbiased view at all. I'll be doing my own reading out-with nhs and decide then.

@doingitalllagain I'm also having to decide between C-section or vbsc and for similar reasons to you looking to go down natural route more so than section. I've spoken to so many people who found recovery fine but I really struggled with the long recovery of a C-section. Even more so than my recovery after a 3rd degree tear (which is why I had a C-section last time) and she was the smallest baby !

@OceanbreezeSun I wish mine lived 90cm jd away lol we actually moved to their doorstep and still they find excuses not to be involved!

I've been having restless feet at night lately and can't get back to sleep and feel like the acid reflux is starting too lol. I'm sure my glow up period was only a matter of weeks haha X

Welcome @drV and so sorry to hear about your MCs. Everyone here has experienced a loss so we all understand.

I'm doing OK, some days confident and excited and other really anxious and just can't wait for baba to be out.

I had an EMCS with DS and so am going for a an ELCS this time to avoid the stress I had with reduced movements in the last three weeks with previous pregnancy. I've discussed it with my consultant who suggested a 39 wk appointment but I'm going to push for 38 weeks I think.

Here's my due date! Likelyntombe a week or two early though 😄

Could anyone tell me about baby's movements please? We are expecting a baby girl and I started feeling her movements right from 18th week.. initially it was only flutters but now she kicks properly.. my question is she is mostly active, but has some quite days in between.. the pattern I have noticed is, she is active throughout the week ; but becomes quite starting Friday night and over the weekend.. then the cycle repeats.. it's not the I totally don't feel her but it's lot less than other days.. is it normal for babies to have quiter days in between? Or should I bring this up in my next midwife appointment? Thanks xx
