Thanks guys! 🥰

I have a posterior placenta this time so hoping that means I start feeling movements soon. I swear I've felt a couple of light flutters already but could have been wind! 🤷‍♀️

MooBugz · 07/10/2022 13:33

@OceanbreezeSun eyelashes omg I forgot they were a thing!! But no not for me I'm going for super mum of 4 mean machine vibes haha 💪

@Skylark1990 I'm 21 weeks now still getting more wind than movement 🤦🏽‍♀️

Amazing news @Skylark1990! Major milestone. You've come so far. Officially heading into second trimester now 🙌

RedElleJ · 09/10/2022 16:01

Hey everyone,

Hope you have all had a lovely weekend - I treated myself to some new clothes today to make myself feel a bit more me :) Need some new things to match the new things though haha! - I just discovered Shein too...man it's dangerous!

Was just wondering if anyone has experienced something similar to what I did yesterday. At the end of the day I had some pain quite low down at my stomach, both left and right side. It was a bit like on and off period cramps but a bit harsher. It settled for a bit but then came back a few hours later - I also had an extremely tender spot right over where I suspect my ovaries are on my right hand side. Very painful when I pressed on it.

All seems to have subsided today and I just ruled it out as growing pains but with not feeling movements on any regular basis I thought I would ask you guys, just to double check that it's nothing to worry about.

Also does anyone have any recommendations for good hypnobirthing books? I mean I might be a c-section if my placenta doesn't move but I am hopeful and was interested in reading around it all.

Hagster · 09/10/2022 18:28

@RedElleJ I experienced a lot of those sorts of pains with my son from quite early, and now have definitely had some in this pregnancy too. I always assumed it was Braxton Hicks, and it actually helped me prepare for labour as I didn't find labour much worse!

But if you're worried always always ring up the midwives, they'd always suggest you speak to them so they can triage properly.

Sorry you're getting this, if it's what I had/have, it's not fun!

Rubes1234 · 09/10/2022 22:46

@RedElleJ I would give the midwife a ring. This is exactly how my fibroid pain and UTI started just little niggles and sharp pains. I put down to round ligament or stretching pains and would just breathe through them. When I rang they told me to take cocodamol 8/500 and if it didn’t subside with that to ring back. Obviously I rang back as I was vomiting with the pain and then they wanted me straight in to check and they originally thought appendicitis but alas it was my fibroid which is in the right lower to the side of my belly button and a bad UTI. Most of the pressure went with antibiotics for the pain lower so it may be worth even just seeing if the midwife could dip your wee as I had no signs of UTI at all.

Hope you feel better soon though. It’s a never ending worry isn’t it.

Where is everyone up to in their pregnancy’s now?! I feel like I go off the group have a bad week then mentally feel able again to come read and have a big catch up. Sorry for being so MIA.

Im currently 21+3 weeks. I have a second 20 week scan on the 13th. All went well at first baby just wouldn’t move to see the spine and top of heart. So hoping they can this time and once again confirm she’s still a Baby Girl. I still haven’t been brave enough to buy anything, so if it gets confirmed this time I might just take 3rd time lucky! (My sister was meant to be a boy hence the hesitation) 😂

Hope everyone is well xx

MooBugz · 09/10/2022 23:21

@RedElleJ sorry can't be much help but defo call up the midwife if your worried better to be safe and get checked out for anything new.

@Rubes1234 I'm 21+3 too 😊

Hope everyone else is doing well. I've got a little bit of newborn ironing to do. Have washed and ironed the unisex and girl newborn clothes now just got the boys ones to do. Surprise will be worth it lol 😆

@RedElleJ Hope you're feeling okay this morning. I was also thinking a quick message/call to your midwife will be worth it. Don't think there's anything alarming (particularly as it subsided the next day), but on the off chance its a UTI it's worth them just checking.

Skylark1990 · 10/10/2022 09:00

Thank you @STom2 ! 💛

@RedElleJ the pains sound like growing / round ligament pain to me and I've had similar sorts of pains every now and then, nothing severe but noticeable. However like others said chat to midwife if worried, it's what they're there for! For hypnobirthing hands down best resource in my opinion is the Positive Birth Company digital hypnobirthing course, it's £39 but often does flash sales, if you follow on insta you should get notified. But don't hesitate to pay full price it's worth it - DH and I both did it together and it really equipped us well for labour. I didn't read any books on it specifically, but felt so prepared. It also has a section on induction and c section. The breathing techniques got me through 3 days of early labour and majority of my active labour. They also have a FB group where people post positive birth stories and you get visualization exercises to do.

@Rubes1234 I'm still way behind you all at 14+3 but feeling good to be in the second trimester 🙌🫶 how are you doing? Has the fibroid gone? X

RedElleJ · 10/10/2022 09:33

Thanks for the help ladies. I hadn’t thought of a UTI. As it’s gone, I’m not crazy worried but will give triage a ring just to make sure. Tried calling twice already but the line is busy…standard 😂

@Skylark1990 i have heard of the positive birth company - I’m pretty sure my friend is loaning me a book by them. I’ll be sure to check it out, especially if it has a bit on c-sections.

RedElleJ · 10/10/2022 10:24

Update - called triage. They are fairly certain the pains on both sides were ligament pains but not too sure about the right sided tender spot.
If it comes back I am to contact the GP as she said it is unlikely pregnancy related.

i have a private scan booked for Saturday so hopefully I will see a wriggly bubba and that will help relax me more. But yeah, just some nasty stretching pains by the sounds of it.

MH202 · 10/10/2022 11:34

Hi, I would like to join, I am currently 15 week pregnant after 2 previous miscarriages and I am too worried

Rubes1234 · 11/10/2022 14:32

@RedElleJ Ah that’s good news! Always better to just have a chat with them isn’t it. Especially the way we all worry 😅

@Skylark1990 The fibroid is still there hanging on to the outside of my womb. They were unable to see if it had shrunk on my last scan a few days after I left the hospital due to internal bleeding and swelling still being present. I’ll have it checked on the 13th and 26th and hopefully it’s either shrunk or untwisted. They couldn’t really tell me exactly what was happening just that there was infection, swelling and internal bleeding present which is indicative of it degrading (dying off) or being being twisted and losing blood flow which would lead it to degrade but then it can also keep growing which is why I’m now in for a scan every two weeks in case the baby’s growth drops due to little room etc. It’s a pain. There’s deffo more pressure in the right side all together but they think it’s trapped between back of womb and intestines so as everything moves as well it could just resolve and continue to grow then it will be monitored after the pregnancy. If no shrinkage they will look to take it away 6 months after birth. It’s a whole rigmarole! 😓😓 How are you feeling now with your sickness is it starting to level out now in your second trimester?

Has anyone any fun Halloween bump ideas? I’m kinda hoping mine pops a bit more to paint a pumpkin on it for the memory box 😂

Rubes1234 · 11/10/2022 14:33

@MH202 Welcome to the group! Your more than welcome!! We all know how you feel here. The worry never stops for us mommas! Just know we are always here if you need us x

MH202 · 11/10/2022 14:44

@Rubes1234 thanks so much, may I ask you for the 16-week midwife appointment, will we able to listen to baby heartbeat by the doppler or it will be too early?

MooBugz · 11/10/2022 14:49

@MH202 I had my latest midwife appointment yesterday at 21+4 and heard the heartbeat for the first time then so don't know if 16 weeks is too early through the midwife or if it differs depending where you are.

@Rubes1234 oh dear sounds like never ending mama drama for you that's a shame! Hope your managing to get some excitement and happy memories in there too. So unfair having to spend a fun time in worry like that isn't it

Hagster · 12/10/2022 06:32

Welcome @MH202 and gentle congratulations. I didn't have a Doppler at my 16 week appointment but maybe some places do it? Every wait can be agonising between scans!

Ally256 · 12/10/2022 07:27

@MH202 I got to hear the heartbeat at my 16 week appointment both times, think different trusts have different policies.

Skylark1990 · 12/10/2022 08:20

Hey @Rubes1234 sorry to hear you are still going through stress and discomfort with the fibroid! Hope you're holding up ok, that must feel very overwhelming at times! Just not what you need on top of pregnancy. ❤️ Are you on antibiotics?

The sickness has started to lift since about 13/14 weeks - slowly getting less and think it's a full week now since I last spewed! I've been having some really tight chesty feelings lately tho and it's been causing me anxiety, as feel I can't breathe properly. Then last night in bed as I was coughing loads and feeling sorry for myself I suddenly realised maybe it was my asthma flaring up! So I dug around for my inhaler and omg the relief was instant. So glad I figured that out 😅 I don't get it often, so just didn't think. My inhaler has actually expired so need to get a new one but it still seemed to work.

Also DD has chicken pox so that's been a stress too as I am not sure if I've had it but just got my bloods back from GP and it shows I have immunity so that's reassuring.

Re Doppler, they don't do this at 16 weeks in my area 😕

Hope everyone is doing well? How's everyone feeling?

Gamergirl84 · 12/10/2022 08:52

Welcome @MH202 and congrats on baby. Sorry to hear you've suffered a loss. I heard baby's HB at the 16 wk appointment but I also booked an extra check up at 18 weeks (paranoid) so of you don't get to hear it at 16 perhaps you could book another appointment before the 20 wk scan?

@Rubes1234 I always liked the idea of painting a xenomorph on my bump but I am a huge fan of Alien 😄😄😄

STom2 · 12/10/2022 09:39

@gamergirl84 Class idea! The Alien movies were a big chunk of my PhD thesis so another fan here 😄

MH202 · 12/10/2022 09:50

@Ally256 thanks for letting me know. where are you, I am in Scotland.

Ally256 · 12/10/2022 10:07

@MH202 I'm down south in London!

Gamergirl84 · 12/10/2022 13:03

@STom2 stop! Seriously?! Aliens is prob my favorite of the franchise- it literally doesn't put a foot wrong. What was your PhD in? I got as far as a post grad 😄

@Ally256 @MH202 I'm in Herefordshire!

Anyone near?

STom2 · 12/10/2022 13:25

@gamergirl84 Yeah Aliens is one of the few sequels that is arguably better than the original. Thesis was on representation of female violence in modern American pop culture. Incidentally looked a lot at maternal violence (in Aliens etc). Which is weird to mention in this pregnancy thread!! 🤣 This was over 10 years ago though!!!
