@MRSE20 I’ve got my 12 wk scan Thursday. Trying my best to push it to the back of my mind. Have you had any early scans? I haven’t so this is my first experience.

MRSE20 · 25/10/2022 09:47

@lmw88 Yes I’ve had 4 scans so far. 5 weeks, 7 weeks, 9 weeks, 11 weeks and will be my 12 week on Friday. I’ve had losses before so have high anxiety.
My 11 week was due to bleeding but the other 3 were private scans

@Britabroad22 another one muddling through the nausea, food aversions and general lack of appetite. When I saw the midwife she was telling me to eat what I could and the baby would be fine, so I’m relying on that.

I’ve had Covid which went into my sinuses (owwie) but feeling better today, just tired and a bit of a cough. I’ve had an extra 20 week scan booked to measure uterine blood flow, as apparently Covid can affect it.

Great to hear those who had scans have had positive experiences. Counting down to my scan on 1st November, when I’ll be 12+4 🙂

I have my scan on the 1st November too! So excited and nervous for it now though, it's my first pregnancy and so far has had such a dark cloud over it by others so I'm ready to see little bean now! 😊

12 week scan coming up Friday and I’m full of nerves, anyone else like this coming up to scans?

Yes very much so! My 12 week scan is tomorrow and I’m very nervous. We had a private scan at 7 weeks and baby looked well but I can’t help but think that was 5 weeks ago and my symptoms have got so much better so I am nervous wreck! 🤦‍♀️

MRSE20 · 25/10/2022 13:03

@Laura993 my symptoms are a lot better too. I moan when I get sickness and moan when it goes 😂 it is very very normal for symptoms to get better after 10 weeks and some can completely go by 2nd trimester apparently!

OptimusPrime31 · 25/10/2022 15:41

I've got my first scan Thursday. Relieved to hear I'm not the only nervous one! It feels like I've been waiting for this appointment forever!

lmw88 · 25/10/2022 16:25

I have work colleagues in the hospital I'm getting my scan. They work on the floor above maternity op appts (use the same stairs). I'm more concerned about dodging them to get to the appt without being spotted!

wonderfulworld33 · 25/10/2022 17:38

My nausea is back with a vengeance today! Any long car journey really sets it off.
Still, happy to still 'feel' pregnant. We have our scan next Friday... I am very nervous as well, despite seeing heartbeat etc at 9 weeks.

First midwife appointment tomorrow... not really sure what to expect from that!

Good luck to everyone who's scan is coming up xx

2bm · 26/10/2022 11:46

I’ve got my 12 wk scan this afternoon and I’m so nervous. I’m totally convinced it’s going to be bad news and just want it over and done with. (I had scans at 8 and 10 weeks and all looked good but I’ve been here before 😢)
Good luck to everyone with scans coming up x

MRSE20 · 26/10/2022 12:11

@2bm ❤️ Thinking of you
I saw baby at 11 weeks and still convinced I’ll get bad news Friday

RugbyGirl1 · 26/10/2022 15:36

Good luck to everyone with upcoming scans. My 12 week scan is on Monday and I'm worried / nervous - not had one since 8+4 and all was well but that's a long time ago now....

Also, I was randomly sick this morning at 11+5. I've had no nausea or sickness throughout so guessing it was more a bug or mild food poisoning... Would any of you let your midwife know or just pass it off as one of those things? Goggle suggested it may have been a surge in hormones or something?

2bm · 26/10/2022 19:39

Scan done and all is well! Phew! Baby measuring a few days ahead and so wriggly that we couldn’t really get a decent picture but worth it to see it moving around so much. So relieved.

raffika · 26/10/2022 19:52

@RugbyGirl1 If it was a one off and you feel otherwise well in yourself, I wouldn’t mention it.

@2bm that’s great news, so pleased everything went well!

I’m not generally a massive worrier, but I’m feeling nervous about my scan on Tuesday, can’t help worrying something is wrong.

Melusina123 · 26/10/2022 19:55

Fingers crossed for you @raffika , @MRSE20 and @RugbyGirl1 :) so exciting to see people heading for scans!!

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 26/10/2022 19:59

Private scan tonight went well. Sonographer estimated a bit further forward - 11+2 ish so mid may. 2 weeks till NHS one!

OptimusPrime31 · 26/10/2022 20:19

How much are private scans? Lots of people have mentioned having one. I've got my first scan tomorrow and very nervous!

lmw88 · 26/10/2022 20:24

Finally my first scan tomorrow morning 🤞🤞

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 26/10/2022 20:48

@OptimusPrime31 in our area, about £50. Can go up to £90!!!

TheBeesKnee · 26/10/2022 21:52

I'm another one that's measuring ahead! I thought I was 11+2 but I went into the EPAU because I had some blood this morning (everything turned out to be fine) and they measured me as 12 weeks exactly!

We heard the heartbeat and saw the baby kicking and moving it's arms around ☺️

I was supposed to have my nuchal scan etc on Halloween but they did it all today and cancelled next week's appointment.

Another one with my 12 week scan on Monday. I'll be 13+3 so feels like I'm waiting forever. Feeling quite excited now and looking forward to being able to tell people (all being well).

Had a fairly nausea free day today although still so tired and work is really full on with lots of 12 hour days the past week or so. Also got a little bit of a bump but not sure if it's just the result of eating my way through nausea 😂 finding that part quite hard. Been really strict with diet and exercise the past few years and lost a lot of weight to maintain my lowest weight but now I'm finding skirts are tight at my waist or, worse, they no longer fasten 😭 lots to adjust to, maybe it would be easier if it was a clear visible bump but just feeling a bit round

Baby0523 · 27/10/2022 06:59

We've got our first scan friday- full of fear and excitement as this will be our first baby.
Morning sickness lasts all day and a sometimes into the evening.
Good luck to everyone with their scans!

Hi everyone. Just a quick question. I had an early scan as had some bleeding and said was nothing to worry about and now at 8 and half weeks roughly. I have a scan late November for the exact due date but I havent actually been given a midwife yet. They were suppose to call me before im at 10 weeks so I still have a little time but I'm a bit anxious about not having one. Am I suppose to have one at this time?
