@Marshmallowmountain congrats! I really wouldn't worry yet it's still super early for symptoms :)

SkeletonSkins · 16/08/2022 13:11

@ncbn1 I’m getting one at 7w1 day, in the hope that we might see a heartbeat and it’ll settle my brain. Or not as the case may be. What I would say is that if you’re not absolutely sure what day you ovulated then 6 weeks might be a bit early to be reassured and 7 might be better, just because they say to go by your last menstrual period but if you ovulate a bit later than average or have slightly longer cycles then you might not be quite as far as you think and a 6 weeks scan migjt only show a 5w baby with no heartbeat yet etc. Going off my last period date I could get a scan at the weekend as I’d technically by 6 weeks but actually then wouldn’t find much as my cycles are 33 days so I’m only going to be 5 weeks at the weekend.

Matildahoney · 16/08/2022 13:13

@mummatara must be something in the air, I am also starving today with not enough food with me! Salad isn't cutting it!

SkeletonSkins · 16/08/2022 13:16

@Tubbytele I’m like @Wouldloveanother , waking up super easily and finding it hard to get back to sleep, also waking up needing a wee and then can’t get back to sleep. Absolutely effecting my sleep though but not as bad as you, I really feel for you.

@Tropicana1 thank you that’s the reassurance I needed!!!

@Skylark1990 yes definitely a bit of bickering going on here, I think mines more anxiety related than hormones etc. Also he tried to suggest I was putting on that I was tired the other night - that didn’t go down well!!

@Marshmallowmountain huge congratulations, I’m a first timer too. I think symptoms seem to vary hugely and some have absolutely none at all, definitely not at 4 weeks. I’m only 4w 4days and generally just been a bit tired and some boob pain but not loads.

mummatara · 16/08/2022 13:17

@Matildahoney I've now only got an apple and a yoghurt to last me until I get home at 5 because I've eaten everything else😭 it's going to be tough. I don't even know what I want to eat I just know I'm starving 😂

Matildahoney · 16/08/2022 13:20

@mummatara oh no! I've only just finished lunch, but it's not going to be a good afternoon, unless our office manager has filled up the biscuit tin, then I may be able to cope 🤣

mummatara · 16/08/2022 13:21

@Matildahoney 😂😂 here's hoping 🤞🏼everyone's always on a diet in my office so there's def not going to be any tasty biscuits going 😭

Matildahoney · 16/08/2022 13:25

@mummatara oh no! That's awful!! I usually avoid the tin, but fear today might be a 'needs must' day! Must remember to stock my drawer up! Hard to find healthy snacks that will keep in a drawer though, maybe some nuts and dried fruit or something.

ncbn1 · 16/08/2022 13:27

@SkeletonSkins going by my lmp I will be 6 weeks on Friday but when I use the calculators with my ovulation date (also had implantation bleeding which makes me more sure) it puts me currently at 6+1 rather than 5+4 that I am based on my period.
I was going to go around 7+2 as this would be the weekend before my booking in appointment with the midwife as abit of reassurance. But would be more like 7+6 potentially.

SkeletonSkins · 16/08/2022 13:33

@ncbn1 I think that would be perfect and you should definitely see a heart beat at that point!

SprinGarden · 16/08/2022 13:36

@OttilieKnackered that happened to me during week 5...had loads of symptoms originally and then they all left apart from minimal breast tenderness. Ultrasound 6+1 is good

Tubbytele · 16/08/2022 13:39

@Wouldloveanother sorry you're going through it too! I stopped tea as soon as I got bfp so totally understand how you're feeling with the lack of caffeine. I've been napping when my toddler has been napping but won't be able to do that once the summer break finishes. But not sure if the napping is making it worse. Hope you manage to get some decent sleep tonight.

OttilieKnackered · 16/08/2022 13:42

@SprinGarden that’s really reassuring, thank you.

SprinGarden · 16/08/2022 13:42

Sleepwise.. I m pretty tired during the day sometimes even have a nap which I never do usually. At night I wake up at least twice to wee. I sometimes wake up at 4am and cannot get back to sleep then some other nights I go back to sleep.

Tubbytele · 16/08/2022 13:59

Thanks @SkeletonSkins I'm really hoping it's mainly because of the heat. I hope you get some better sleep too!

Also my toddler who cosleeps with me is asking for more breastmilk since I became pregnant. It's like he's noticed a change but I didn't think it would be this early.

Chocolat · 16/08/2022 14:13

7 weeks today, and I’m just wondering how does anyone work through pregnancy??
I’m finding it so difficult already, I’m constantly tired, wake up hungover and constantly nauseous. I feel like I need to be in bed or lying on the sofa with something nice to eat or drink (but can’t think what as everything is making me feel sick) 😅

mummatara · 16/08/2022 14:17

@Chocolat honestly I don't know either in my first pregnancy I was furloughed in the middle of covid so could nap when I felt like it and generally do what I wanted as much as lock downs permitted. It was a shock to the system in my second having to deal with everything and be a functional human 😳 that one didn't get past 12 weeks so for the second time this year I'm managing the first trimester and all it's glory 🙈

Chocolat · 16/08/2022 14:19

@mummatara oh wow, first trimester twice in a year but congrats! I think naps may be the way forward, but really feel like I can’t face work 😅

mummatara · 16/08/2022 14:29

@Chocolat so far I'm not feeling sick I just have heartburn and the tiredness kicked in a couple of days ago but I know from previous I don't usually get sick until 6/7 weeks so I've got a week or twos grace in that dept yet 🤞🏼 naps if you can get them make you feel better I can never face work 😂 but needs must

Chocolat · 16/08/2022 14:37

@mummatara yeah the heart burn isn’t nice either. My nausea started at 6+3, for some reason I thought I was going to get away with it lol enjoy eating whilst you can! Haha good to know I’m not the only one 😂

ancienthouse · 16/08/2022 14:42

@Chocolat it gets easier. I felt like a bus had hit me most days in my first trimester with my DD and work was a real struggle, but after about 14/15 weeks things started to ease off and my energy came back and I was fine, I worked right up to my due date.
The exhaustion has really hit me this week again, I'm so tired!

@Tubbytele I have a 3yo who still cosleeps half the night, and she has stopped asking for milk recently so think she might be self weaning. Not sure if it's pregnancy related or not.

Longbin · 16/08/2022 14:48

@Chocolat I have just booked a few days annual leave instead of having them off over Christmas. I found second and third trimester miles easier than the first, so would rather try and relax now than at the end. I'll probably regret that in April 😂

Margo34 · 16/08/2022 15:05

@Tubbytele my toddler seems to be getting frustrated when nursing and trying to up my supply 🤔 I hope we can continue our BF journey! How old is your toddler? Mine is 22m and is a boob fiend!

@mummatara have you got a vending machine at your work or a shop over the road?! When I was expecting DC1, I took a pot of raisins and mini breadsticks in my handbag everywhere I went! 😂

mummatara · 16/08/2022 15:19

@Margo34 no our office is in the middle of nowhere and we only have 7 staff so no vending machine. I did pack myself plenty really it was a fine amount yesterday but for some reason the hunger has hit me today 😂 think I'll grab a few drawer snacks tonight
