@MamaOh it's quite tricky to tell where they are! Definitely on the right hand side, sort of middle right?! What does the breakdown of the corpeus luteum mean? A quick look on some health sites implies it's a natural part of pregnancy but not necessarily this early?

But thanks to everyone else who has commented - I feel reassured by all of the other comments that it was normal (fingers crossed!).

@MamaOh and @SavedByGraceAlone I’ve used a progesterone pessary this evening and will continue with them. Even if they don’t prevent it at least I know I’ve tried

Margo34 · 24/08/2022 21:47

@Marshmallowmountain that is exactly what I've been telling myself about taking the progresterone, too, that whatever happens at least I know I've tried 😊

AliceinSlumberland · 24/08/2022 21:50

Guys sorry for the TMI question but is anyone going for fewer bowel movements than normal? I don’t think it’s necessarily constipation although maybe it is, I have been going but just less often than pre pregnancy, maybe like every other/every third day when I was a once per day type of girl before 😂

hol92 · 24/08/2022 21:52

I had strange stabbing, fizzy stinging like pains and it turned out to be a UTI but then they can also be normal :) mine was more stinging pain low down xxx

I woke up in the night with a pain in my left side ovary region that made me yell out. Slightly concerning but it hasn't happened again. I'm off to EPU this morning anyway so 🤞 everything is OK.

SavedByGraceAlone · 25/08/2022 07:32

@ancienthouse, oh dear, sounds scary! Good news at least you'll be seen by the EPU asap. Hope it goes well and everything is healthy and as it should be. Let us know how it goes x

Leanne053 · 25/08/2022 08:11

My stomach feels heavy/bloated this morning and a little uncomfortable, I also have back pain along my spine which hurts when I touch but I think that's from gardening yesterday 😂

alwaysseeingstars · 25/08/2022 08:59

@AliceinSlumberland I have exactly the same! Googled it and it does seem to be pretty standard luckily 😊

Skylark1990 · 25/08/2022 09:03

@AliceinSlumberland very normal, it's the progesterone slowing down your system. You can get lactulose from pharmacy which helps and is safe in pregnancy!

I have the opposite haha but think it's coz I'm taking the progesterone pessaries or maybe coz I was on antibiotics. Have finished them now so will see if the constipation starts soon...

B1993 · 25/08/2022 09:35

Morning ladies,

I’ve been avoiding the page for the last couple of days because I’m really concerned that I’m going to miscarry 😭 I’ve been in touch with both my GP and EPU, who are both telling me I need to wait it out and keep testing. Looking for any advice from you lovely ladies as I’m feeling very emotional.

I had some brown spotting at 10DPO when wiping but that went away. It returned at 15DPO and has been getting progressively more frequent to every time I wipe and enough to reach a liner. This morning it’s progressed to light pink blood and there’s quite a bit of it. I’m currently 19DPO.

I feel sick to my stomach with worry and don’t know who else there is to turn to?! 🥺😢😭

B1993 · 25/08/2022 09:55

@MamaOh Thank you for getting back to me!
When trying with my first I realised I have a short LP (it's naturally 8-9 days), which would suggest a progesterone deficiency. At the time, no one would help so I looked into my options and started taking vitex. I managed to get pregnant and maintain it with that - my son is 3 now! 🥰 I used it when TTC this baby but it's not recommended you take it when pregnant so I've been trying to wean off. With my first, that seemed to go ok and only took a few weeks but I'm worried that the reduction in vitex this lime is causing my progesterone to drop.

In a panic, I've contacted my GP again this morning and quoted the Tommys study i remember you ladies mentioning before. They are going to call me back so hopefully I have a sympathetic GP who will put me on it!!

B1993 · 25/08/2022 10:03

So I got a call from a GP, she also said there's nothing they can do and 'there's a good possibility that it's a miscarriage but that just means the pregnancy wasn't meant to be.' she said to take a p/g test in a week to confirm if it is a miscarriage or if the pregnancy is still viable.

ancienthouse · 25/08/2022 10:18

thank you @MamaOh and @SavedByGraceAlone
my scan went well, measuring a few days behind but saw a good heartbeat. The sonographer said the pain could be a cyst on my ovary bursting, she could see a lot of fluid around it.

I'm going back to EPU in 2 weeks to check the baby is growing OK.

@B1993 so sorry to hear you're going through this! It really can be such a battle in getting heard and getting what's needed medically.

I agree with @MamaOh think go straight to EPAU and get a scan to figure out first what is happening, even if you have to exaggerate pain/bleeding, sometimes it has to be done to get seen and ask/battle for progesterone! Say to them you've had tests blood done confirming low progesterone to back it up even more.

Your GP sounds really unhelpful and unsympathetic!! To say that is so unprofessional seeing as there is so much medical assistance out there to help maintain a pregnancy 😤

Really hope it all works out okay xx

SavedByGraceAlone · 25/08/2022 10:26

@B1993 I'm so sorry to hear this :( It is heartbreaking and the wait is agonising!
If you are bleeding, it doesn't hurt going to the A&E where they could take your blood and measure the HCG levels to determine where you are in the pregnancy. I did that when spotting at 4 weeks - had to wait 4 hours, but they did take my HCGs and referred me to the EPU. Sending lots of love and virtual hugs your way. xxxx

@ancienthouse congratulations on the heartbeat! lovely news. x

alwaysseeingstars · 25/08/2022 10:28

@B1993 I agree fully with @MamaOh and @Sunnyxo , go to EPU or even A&E stating you have pain and bleeding, otherwise you'll have a week of severe stress ahead of you. So sorry you're going through this x
@ancienthouse glad you saw a heartbeat and they've given you a possible reason for the pain, that must be very reassuring!

AliceinSlumberland · 25/08/2022 10:35

@B1993 I honestly can’t believe the rubbish that GP has said to you. There absolutely are things that can be done to prevent a loss, either with this pregnancy or for a pregnancy in the future. Leaving you to get on with it is completely unfair. I agree, go to EPU/A and E even if you have to exaggerate things because it’s frankly inhumane to leave you in limbo for an entire week.

@ancienthouse great news about your scan, really made up for you!
