@SkeletonSkins sorry no I didn’t say, I qualified this year but decided to take a HLTA in September to give me abit more of a relaxed year considering my PGCE was so much stress. Looks like it was the right option!!😂

@SkeletonSkins i know what you mean about worrying about all the small things! Realistically it probably does not make any difference, but that won’t stop us worrying aha.

Does anyone have any experience of long car journeys in early pregnancy? DH and I are due to be going on a break in the uk about 5 hours drive away from us in two weeks time. I read on the NHS it says to avoid long car journeys if possible, I think due to blood clot risk. Would be grateful for any thoughts :)

mummatara · 15/08/2022 21:57

@SkeletonSkins I think you just have to go with what feels right for you. I rode my horse up until 12 weeks when he decided to break anyway otherwise would have carried on longer 🤦🏼‍♀️ and I mucked out and lugged the wheelbarrow everyday until about 36 weeks when I wasn't very well so decided to rest with my first pregnancy and everything was fine.

@Soontobe7 so sorry for the loss of your beautiful boy 💙 if anyone thinks a subsequent pregnancy could possibly replace a child you've lost then they're a dick and you're better off without them frankly. Congratulations on being pregnant again, it must have been meant to be

@SkeletonSkins thank you 💕 re - watching what you carry, it's all about what's reasonable for you. I'm lugging a 20 month around as although she walks perfectly well, she uses this skill to go where she's not supposed to! Where we all are in pregnancy at the moment, it's so well protected tucked under the pubic bone that bending and twisting won't do anything to it. However, what I would say though, is don't do anything that should you go on to miscarry, you could torment yourself over it being the cause. On balance, miscarriages happen for all manner of reasons and women carry babies to term in all sorts of horrendous situations - but your brain won't accept that and could blame you

Mrs C
Thank you so much for the kind, lovely words ❤️

SkeletonSkins · 15/08/2022 22:14

@MrsC2018 thank you so much for your reassuring words 💕 you’re absolutely right and tbh if the pregnancy doesn’t stick because I go over a hill too quickly it obviously wasn’t meant to be.

@ncbn1 definitely a good move, I used to be a teacher, oh my god it was so hard! Although HLTA is incredibly hard too!!

@mummatara thats really reassuring thank you, I have a hobby (I train and compete dogs in agility, so jumps tunnels etc) that I really want to try and stick with as long as possible so it’s reassuring to hear your experience with the horse. Do you still have a horse now?

mummatara · 15/08/2022 22:34

@SkeletonSkins yes I do but I also have an 18 month old so I haven't managed to get any riding in for a very long time....still have to muck out though no getting out of that one 😂 I think it really helps having a hobby can really take your mind off of dwelling or panicking too much on what might or might not happen that we can't change anyway x

alwaysseeingstars · 16/08/2022 06:33

@Soontobe7 I'm so sorry for the loss of your boy, nobody should ever have to go through that heartbreak. You are incredibly strong & I'm so happy you managed to conceive quickly! Good luck with your journey 🥰

SkeletonSkins · 16/08/2022 08:05

Took a first response this morning and got a ‘dye stealer’ where the test line is stronger than the control. That’s it now - I’m doing no more tests other than my last clear blue dating one next week when I’ll hopefully get 3+. I need to stop.

ncbn1 · 16/08/2022 08:06

Can anyone recommend getting an early scan or not? It sounds daft but even with the 10 pregnancy tests and just about every symptom going, I’m struggling to believe it!
I will be 6 weeks on Friday and wondering whether to book an early scan!

Skylark1990 · 16/08/2022 08:17

Hi everyone hope you're all well today 😘

@Soontobe7 I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your son💐🫶 that is heartbreaking, really happy for you that you are on this journey again and sending all the luck in the world x

@MediaMinion I am 5+6 today and only really started having the classic, obvious symptoms of nausea and sore boobs on Saturday, and even then they come and go ATM! With my DD I didn't really get nausea tl 6 weeks and didn't spew till 7, it's all very different with each pregnancy. Easy to worry about it but 5 weeks still defo v early 😘

@SkeletonSkinsI also worry about loads of stuff due to previous miscarriages this year but as everyone says really there is not much we could do at this stage in the way of movement that would harm it - it's nestled deep in our pelvis, well protected. With my first pregnancy which resulted in my daughter I was much more relaxed but did still worry a bit - I remember freaking out about doing quite a hardcore yoga class the day after I found out when I was about 11dpo and having loads of cramps after. But all was ok! I did stop yoga for a bit but mostly because from 6 / 7 weeks I was sick as a dog till 16 weeks 😅 so no energy anyway. This time round I'm trying to trust my body, still doing some light yoga and going swimming when I can (which isn't loads as I have a toddler and I work) but not overdoing it. I went swimming yesterday which was lovely and actually eased the nausea quite a lot!

Anyone else finding they are bickering with OH? I feel I'm very irritated and sensitive and often taking things the wrong way or getting annoyed at him. It's not fair as he's amazing. 😩 Also after swimming last night I have a sore ear and super scared I've got an ear infection. Due to last MC happening straight after I had covid I'm absolutely petrified of some ailment getting me as worried my body just won't cope 😩 hopefully a bit of ear calm spray will sort it out.

I'm at that stage where the nausea is coming and going which is at times reassuring and also a bit stressful.... Huge appetite also and need to snack as if tummy goes half way towards empty I feel sick it seems...

Emeal123 · 16/08/2022 08:38

@Skylark1990 i keep bickering with DH too! I don’t mean too but he keeps irritating me 🤣🤣 I do feel bad as he is actually doing nothing wrong at all and is really trying to help me as much as he can. Trying to reign in the moodiness!

@ncbn1 I have booked an early scan for 6 weeks, I know that’s very early - not sure if there will be much to see and anything could still happen, but just want to put my mind at rest that there is something there and growing as it should. I can’t wait until 12 week scan and have had two previous chemical pregnancies so just need some reassurance! DH mentioned possibly waiting until 7/8 weeks so there is more to see but it was a non-refundable deposit so sticking with it xx

Wouldloveanother · 16/08/2022 08:38

Congrats @Soontobe7 and I’m sorry you’ve had such a tragic journey to get here. I hope this is your 🌈

Yes I’m bickering a lot too Skylark. Mainly because DH keeps making ‘how will we afford it’ comments and I’m worried he’s going to spoil my pregnancy banging on about money! We’re not rolling in it by any means but we are comfortable, timed it so we won’t have 2 kids in nursery and there’s no obvious reason why we should struggle at the moment.

I also just feel really tired, lethargic and cba a lot of the time, literally all I want to do is lie on the sofa drinking decaf coffee and watching telly. I’ve got brain fog and work etc is a real struggle.

alwaysseeingstars · 16/08/2022 09:11

@Skylark1990 my gosh yes with the bickering, I can't seem to stop it!
@Wouldloveanother a few of ours are definitely caused by money discussions too, I'm the higher earner which really doesn't help anytime I talk about maternity leave and he talks about affording it.. 🙄

CinderellaFant · 16/08/2022 09:52

Yes we are bickering a lot too! Just the sight of him annoys me at the minute to be honest.

OttilieKnackered · 16/08/2022 11:16

Hello all.

Having a hard time this morning. My boobs are almost back to normal and I’m really panicking. I KNOW symptoms come and go but this also happened to me last time (MMC) so it’s really hard not to make the association.

Has anyone had symptoms that just disappeared (rather than not starting) and everything was fine? I just don’t feel very pregnant. I’m only 5+4 so ages to go until a scan.

I want to just enjoy it but I’m so tearful all the time.

😞

mummatara · 16/08/2022 11:25

God I'm hungry today and I don't have enough snacks in the office with me 😭

alwaysseeingstars · 16/08/2022 11:29

@OttilieKnackered I know it's so hard not to worry (I'm spending about 2/3's of my day wondering whether I'm still pregnant and if I still will be the next day haha!) but I have heard this is super super common. I'm about the same time as you and at times I will have really painful boobs, then they're absolutely fine for a while. Same with cramping and feeling tired! It must be really difficult especially after an MMC but try to keep positive 😊

Tubbytele · 16/08/2022 11:43

Hi all, joining in. Is anyone experiencing insomnia related to pregnancy. I didn't have this with my first but have had it this whole week, awake til 5 am. Could be the heat but I've been struggling. Flo app says I'm 6+3 today but I ovulated late. How is everyone doing today?

ancienthouse · 16/08/2022 12:06

@ncbn1 I didn't have one with my DD because I had no reason to suspect anything was wrong, although I was still anxious.
This time I was planning to book one at about 8 weeks privately because of a previous miscarriage. But I bit the bullet yesterday and booked in with the midwife and she referred me for an early scan at the epau next week because of my history.

I think if you're worried for any reason and you can afford it then there's no harm in having an early scan. But it doesn't guarantee anything and things could change at the 12 week scan anyway. It is a long time to wait though.

I am tubby! In my case it’s that I’m sleeping very lightly and waking up 2-3 times a night. I’m absolutely exhausted and think that’s why I have brain fog. I would rely on coffee but 🙄 that’s being restricted so! Sympathies!

Tropicana1 · 16/08/2022 12:25

@SkeletonSkins I wouldn't worry too much lifting wise, I was very active with work on farms dealing with cows up to about 6 months with my last pregnancy. I think after around 6 months max 15kg lifting if possible

@Soontobe7 so sorry to hear about your loss of your son, and congratulations on your pregnancy. I'm sure lots of mixed emotions but this new baby in no way replaces your son and he will always be remembered and cherished by you and your family ❤️

Rang the midwife today and have been given my 8week booking appointment for September! Feels real now!

Marshmallowmountain · 16/08/2022 12:46

Hi, I’m 4 weeks today, will be my first child. Last month I had a chemical so I’m super nervous about everything. Only symptoms I’ve had are digestive issues and some mild cramping, then today I’m super dizzy and tired.

I’m actually a bit worried because my boobs aren’t sore or sensitive at all??

Longbin · 16/08/2022 12:50

Congrats @Marshmallowmountain. I don't get sore boobs at all either. They feel completely normal

mummatara · 16/08/2022 13:09

@Marshmallowmountain mine only started hurting a couple of days ago I'm 4+6 today so it might still come or you might not get that symptom. Mine hurt straight away with my previous 2
