Joining from thread 2 too, I've just written on there to share a bit of my story by mistake. I had that thread open on my phone.
I'm 5 weeks today and wondering if anyone else is a bit slow on the symptoms uptake too?

Longbin · 15/08/2022 18:28

Welcome @MediaMinion! Just read your post. Sorry it's been so hard for you to get to get here, but glad you are joining us, congratulations!

I had barely any symptoms at 5 weeks apart from occasional light cramping and a tiny tiny bit of nausea, I'm now 6+3 and constantly feel like I'm going to be sick, so it might strike you soon

Wouldloveanother · 15/08/2022 18:45

Has pregnancy messed with anyone else’s digestive system? 😷 I keep getting excruciating cramps/pains (definitely bowel not uterus) and trapped wind. Definitely not myself in that area 😕

BamEd · 15/08/2022 18:45

@MediaMinion ill be 5 weeks on Wednesday and have hardly any symptoms.. all I have is some slight cramping and back ache and that’s it 😬

Sunnyxo · 15/08/2022 18:51

Joining from them read 2!

Jennylou88 · 15/08/2022 18:56

Joining from thread 1, I'm due 8th/9th of April it changes depending on what platform I seem to use. Definitely having some nausea the second my stomach is empty - so I've been on the snacks constantly 🙈 I've an almost 3yr old little boy as well as this time round is tougher without as much rest!
how is everyone doing? Anyone got a private scan booked? I couldn't get in until the end of the month. It's horrendous waiting so long isn't it!

ActualMermaid · 15/08/2022 19:06

Joining from the previous threads. Hi everyone!

alwaysseeingstars · 15/08/2022 19:09

Re telling people, DH wants to wait till 12 weeks! 😫
I think we're going to compromise on 10, part of me is very nervous as we've got quite a bit of infertility and losses in the family so I don't want to upset people (and if we then lose this baby it would be even worse...)

Ginmonkey84 · 15/08/2022 19:12

Joining also from thread 2 x

Pickles91 · 15/08/2022 19:31

Joining from thread 1!

On telling people, we have told our best friends and I told my manager today, just in case something bad happens. Both sets of parents seem to be travelling around at the mo, so will either tell them this weekend or after our 8 week scan (Sept 8 so not too long to wait…although time is passing VERY slowly right now).

And symptoms…sore boobs and fatigue in the evenings. And peeing and burping more than usual 😂 I had some nausea last week, but think it was psychosomatic!! Reading the thread, it’s reassuring how different everyone’s symptoms are!

simplythequest · 15/08/2022 19:35

@Wouldloveanother me! Aside from the bowel movements themselves (TMI, sorry, but they are incredibly variable at the moment!), I am finding myself with cramping, gas and nausea that is linked to my digestive system. Which, I gave to say, is kind of a relief when I figured out that my cramping is usually my guts complaining instead of anything worse!

Tropicana1 · 15/08/2022 19:40

Just checking in from thread 2. 4+2 today, cheapies getting nice and dark now

SkeletonSkins · 15/08/2022 19:53

I feel completely normal except occasional tiredness (probably only because I’m aware of it) and sore boobs if I touch them. That’s it!

MediaMinion · 15/08/2022 19:54

I just hope that in a couple of weeks time I'm cursing my past self for wanting more symptoms to appear 🤞🤞🤞. But it's reassuring to hear that 5 weeks is a bit early for many symptoms to show up. Thanks for the welcome, the best club ever!

SkeletonSkins · 15/08/2022 19:54

@MediaMinion sorry that was a reply to you but it decided not to include your post for some reason!

SkeletonSkins · 15/08/2022 19:57

@Jennylou88 I’ve got a private scan booked for 3rd sept when I’ll be 7/8 weeks, honestly so worried they’ll say there’s nothing there or it’s stopped growing. I know worry doesn’t help but can’t help myself!

MediaMinion · 15/08/2022 19:59

@SkeletonSkins @Longbin sorry both, I've haven't been on forums for such a long time, I'm just getting used to it again. Thank you for sharing your experiences!

MrsC2018 · 15/08/2022 20:11

Joining from thread 1. I'm 6 weeks today and dared do another clear blue yesterday and got a 3+ so grateful. I've heard from the midwife team who've arranged my booking in apt for next Wednesday. Due to a second trimester loss in April I'm under a bereavement midwife still who has said she'll arrange a viability scan to check for a heartbeat so just got that to get through in the next couple of weeks I guess.
No real sickness yet with this one, though not sure when I got it with the others! Sickness is awful both when you have it and when you don't I guess! How's everyone else tonight?

faithtrustandpixiedust · 15/08/2022 20:34

@Lapin387 Thankyou for replying! I've had one dose so far and definitely get what you mean about feeling like you've drank a bottle of wine! Did that wear off any once your body got used to them? Obviously won't be driving if I continue to feel like that so that will be difficult. Yes rest is definitely scarce with a 2 year old 😅 luckily she starts nursery in a couple of weeks so I'll be able to rest a bit if I need to.

On telling people, I have only told my manager so far due to being so ill at work but I'm thinking we might tell close family when we see them this weekend. We did plan on waiting for our first scan but I don't think we can get away with waiting that long.

CinderellaFant · 15/08/2022 20:40

I haven't told anyone this time round (well apart from DH) and don't plan to anytime soon.

GlobetrottingPercy · 15/08/2022 20:40

Hi everyone, hope you don’t mind me tentatively joining you all. I got my BFP on 2nd August but I’m naturally a worrier so have been lurking on the last two threads without saying anything. I’m only around 5+5 so just contacted the midwife and waiting for her to ring me to arrange my booking in appointment. Not much in the way of symptoms for me right now either and I hear those of you who are saying how long it is until the scan date….think I’ll have to book an early one despite saying I wouldn’t!

ncbn1 · 15/08/2022 21:12

Good evening everyone,
just wanted to check in and see how everyone is feeling. I’m 5+3 today although based on ovulation I’m presuming I’m abit further along.

I am feeling completely wiped out by symptoms at the moment. I am absolutely shattered all of the time and cannot stop eating!! I have a permanent hangover type headache and lower back pain ( I have a retroverted uterus so putting it down to this). I know I should be feeling grateful as hopefully they’re all good signs but I’m struggling with managing to do anything at all during my summer holidays off! I usually love having the holidays off but it’s just making my brain work overtime with worry!

OP posts:
simplythequest · 15/08/2022 21:23

@ncbn1 I totally understand your holiday worrying - I'm doing the same thing. Having to find so many things to try and take my, ind away from overanalysing every little twinge and pain.

I'm finding walking the dog quite hard work, so it's taking me over an hour to do a walk I'd usually do in 50 minutes, but that could just be the heat. Weirdly, not eating as much as I would normally... 🤔 very unlike ,e! Although I'm not feeling sick often or anything. I'm 5+2 today 😊

Soontobe7 · 15/08/2022 21:27

Hi everyone
Tentatively joining as I'm still in shock really. Me and my husband lost our baby boy unexpectedly and suddenly at 36 hours old at home 27th july 2021, post mortem showed a extremely rare undiagnosed genetic metabolic condition (which was a shock as we already had 2 beautiful healthy children) and I've since been really poorly with some undiagnosed neurological condition. It's been a really long hard road, I'd lost over 5 stone, I'd literally only had 2 or 3 periods since giving birth and sex was something we just weren't doing.......until recently. It was our 10 year anniversary and our babys 1st birthday (and anniversary) and we went away for a much needed break away from the children and to reconnect. It would seem we did more than reconnect 😂It took us 2 years to conceive our angel so who would have thought it'd happen just like that now? From my dates I thiiiiink I'd be due about 13th April and be about nearly 6 weeks? I just have no idea how to approach it all though as I'm on lots of medication that I'd normally never take in pregnancy and I'm scared people will think we are somehow trying to replace our beautiful little boy which is definitely NOT the case and I'm worried how the children will react/cope. They were so excited when our baby was born our youngest is 6 eldest 16 so they all took the passing extremely hard (although have coped amazingly!) It's just such a whirlwind and I have no idea about anything.
Congratulations to everyone and hope your all doing OK sorry for the ramble!

SkeletonSkins · 15/08/2022 21:50

@ncbn1 are you a teacher? Sorry if you already said and I missed it. I’m an Ed Psych and although I’m not off all summer, work is so quiet and it’s dragging, begged my manager for an extra case to use up some time!

@GlobetrottingPercy Congratulations and welcome, I relate to the feeling anxious about it all. Book the scan if you can afford to I say.

@MrsC2018 Congrats on the 3+! So sorry to hear about your loss, I am so pleased you have some support and I guess it’s just one milestone at a time. Wishing you a boring and straight forward pregnancy 💕

@Soontobe7 Welcome to the thread and congratulations on your pregnancy. I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your son, and then to have so many medical difficulties on top of that, I can’t imagine. Like MrsC, wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy x

Well I’ve spent the evening reading about other peoples MMCs and miscarriages on here. Why do I do this to myself??? Why worry about something that might not even happen?

Can I ask, and this is definitely a first time mum question, to what extent is the ‘don’t carry heavy things’ etc relevant in the early months, is it more of an old wives tale? I worry that everything I do could affect the baby, this early in the game. Today this included going over a hill to fast and getting the stomach drop feeling and also cleaning out my car and twisting into awkward positions to do so. Now logically I know surely these things won’t make a difference but I can’t help but worry!
