Hey all, a quick update from me!

I had a repeat scan at EPU this morning at 8+1 (having scans for recurrent miscarriage). All looked okay and they actually measure me at 9 which is impossible.

Have my booking in appointment tomorrow.

Still feeling very anxious, had a dream last night that the baby’s heart stopped during the scan and I started bleeding. Still feel like it’s all going to go wrong.

Havent got loads of symptoms - some cramping, food aversions and heightened sense of small but no vomiting so hopefully that’ll reassure anyone worried about lack of vomiting

Hello all.

I’ve just had my booking in appointment notification. I’ll be 10+5!

Is that not really late to have it?

herestohoping1 · 24/08/2022 11:46

Hello, I hope you don't mind me joining 🥰 I'm around 6+2 today! Super nervous as only got 3+ a few days ago x

Dragonfly909 · 24/08/2022 12:16

@Tubbytele @ancienthouse now I think about it, 'latching' is more painful than usual, but luckily it is always painful so I'm used to it 😂

@GeorgiePorge hi! Haha I am also exhausted but yes with a child already that doesn't feel very different! I remember fondly how I could just go for a nap during my first pregnancy 🤭

Still not feeling sick, we're going away this weekend so if it could hold off for a week or so that would be great!

EL8888 · 24/08/2022 12:35

@OttilieKnackered they reckon it could be up to 12 weeks for me 🙄. Healthcare where l live, lm increasingly realised is a bit lame. I will be pushing back on that if it’s the case, as l am 42 and my partner is 40 so we will want all the tests

EL8888 · 24/08/2022 12:36

Can someone please share the Facebook group link? I can’t make the last one work

OttilieKnackered · 24/08/2022 12:41

@EL8888 that sucks. Seems pretty unfair that some get them nearly a month before others really.

Marshmallowmountain · 24/08/2022 12:42

Just an update, pink discharge continuing. Waiting on this mornings private HCG and progesterone results. My EPU called me back and I’ve got a scan booked for Friday morning so I feel pleased they’re taking it seriously

Marshmallowmountain · 24/08/2022 12:43

Should say I’ll be 5w3d on Friday so not sure if anything can be seen?

SavedByGraceAlone · 24/08/2022 12:49

@Marshmallowmountain are you having any cramps as well as the spotting?

From what I understand, it would be too early to see the embryo but potentially could see the gestation sac on the scan. Plus the two sets of HCG results (today's and then 48 hrs after) will tell you if the pregnancy is progressing as it should.

Skylark1990 · 24/08/2022 12:55

Lovely scans that have come through 🥰🥰 and welcome to newbies!

@Marshmallowmountain I was scanned at 5+2 due to right side pain. We saw yolk sac and gestational sac in uterus which was reassuring! No embryo yet as too small to pick up but they said that's normal at that stage and they were pleased with what was seen 😊 I'm going back next week when I'll be 8+1 🤞🤞🤞 have you had MC in the past? If you have, and you have some progesterone, I don't think there would be any harm in using it as this is what they would advise you do if you got seen now, and if you wait a few days it might be too late. However hopefully the progesterone and hcg tests come back soon and give you some peace of mind! When are they due back?

@Wouldloveanother sorry you're feeling so grim! Definitely tell work and have the rest of the week off. I told my manager for similar reasons, I haven't had to take time yet as don't feel toooooo bad yet but I wanted her aware in case I do in the coming weeks - likely, let's face it! Plus they'd need to know if anything went wrong anyway so I figure no harm letting them know early on. Is house of dragons good?? Which network is it on?

Skylark1990 · 24/08/2022 13:00

@SavedByGraceAlone sorry to hear the scan wasn't super reassuring for you at this stage - but it can be common to not see much early on so take heart, hopefully every is as it should be at your next one ❤️❤️❤️

I am plodding along... Continuing to feel relatively nauseas all day although worse in afternoons / evenings and it does subside when I eat for a bit so manageable. Haven't spewed yet, did gag violently one morning but nothing in tummy to throw up! DD is not in a great mood today and had a couple of accidents at the park this morning and got a bleeding nose.🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️😩 So we are on the couch ATM and she's snoozing on me. I was craving burgers so went and got ingredients and my DH is making them right now.... So excited 😂

What's everyone else craving today? My cravings are crazy, they're jumping around like no one's business and if I eat one thing I don't want it again any time soon... Like craved pizza hard the other day, had a pizza, now the thought of pizza makes me sick 😅

Leanne053 · 24/08/2022 13:01

Do others on FB know if you join the group?

Miller2 · 24/08/2022 13:11

New here at 7 weeks today. Not been on since 2019 when I had my first and we had (and still do have) an amazing Facebook group. I notice April 2023 has a Facebook group too. Can anyone give me the link please? The previous link won't work for me.

hotelp · 24/08/2022 13:11

Morning all,
Some right sided pain (likely IBS in hindsight) landed me in EPAC and scan I looking good! Heartbeat flickering away.

RE work, I will be telling my manager when he's back back from leave next week. As other PPs have said, even if the worst were to happen, work will need to know as I won't be there!

Longbin · 24/08/2022 13:32

This is the fb link. I'll keep sharing it until the end of the month fb.me/g/p_1yXpdYXSHsAArqKk/Qzx3pSR5

bluebubbles12 · 24/08/2022 13:32

@OttilieKnackered my booking appointment is at 10+2 so I was a bit disappointed it was quite late. I'd also read that there are some blood tests which need doing before 10 weeks, but my daughter was a 2020 pregnancy where there was no booking appointment so my bloods weren't done until scan day which was at 13 weeks and everything was OK. I'm just impatient and want things to start happening so it seems more real!

SavedByGraceAlone · 24/08/2022 13:32

@Skylark1990 ah sorry to hear about your DD's bleeding nose! The burgers sound delicious though - am very jealous! I dont have any cravings at all, but been feeling quite nauseous all morning today, which also subsides when I eat (convenient! :).
I think we are meant to be only a day apart, from memory? Based on LMP, I'm meant to be 6+3 today but I think that might be wrong given the scan yesterday.

@hotelp that's such amazing news about the heartbeat - congratulations! how many weeks+days are you?

Wouldloveanother · 24/08/2022 13:49

Your poor daughter Skylark! Hope she’s feeling better!

I plucked up the courage to tell my line manager who was surprisingly fine (not that I thought she would say anything but now is pretty disastrous for me to be pregnant at work, timing wise). So that’s a weight off my chest.

ive also booked a few days away in mid September, I’m feeling a bit suffocated by these 4 walls so I’m hoping some fresh air and a change of scenery will do me some good. Will also be nice to spend some time with DD. I’ll be 10 weeks by then so probably still vomiting but I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it.

Skylark1990 · 24/08/2022 14:03

Wonderful news @hotelp !

@SavedByGraceAlone thanks, the burgers were nice but now feeling sick and if I think about burgers want to vom 😅😅 this seems to be the way... Can still smell them too from the cooking aromas erghhhh 🤮🤢 I'm 7 weeks today so a little ahead of you. That's a good sign re nausea! It's horrible but hopefully a sign things moving in right direction (though ofc no symptoms doesn't mean there is anything wrong - just that you are lucky haha).

@Wouldloveanother thank you yes the poor thing, shes been in the wars lately. That's good you told your manager and she was ok about it. A change of scene will be nice! We are going away this weekend and I'm looking forward to it...camping which will be interesting in my current state I'm sure but hopefully the fresh air helps! X

alwaysseeingstars · 24/08/2022 14:10

@hotelp great news re the heartbeat 😊

@Wouldloveanother that's good that your line manager took it well. I'm going to wait till 12 weeks I think (unless I'm so ill I have to!), it's an awkward one as I work for a very small (not hugely understanding/accommodating) company so is not going to be a very easy discussion!

hotelp · 24/08/2022 15:20

Thanks all :)

So I thought I was 7+0 based off LMP, but measuring 6+3... they don't seem concerned as there is a heartbeat, I'm presuming I just ovulated a bit late? (I wasn't tracking).

AliceinSlumberland · 24/08/2022 15:24

Fab to hear there’s been some lovely healthy scans! Very exciting!

5 weeks 5 days today for me. Still really suffering with my neck which I pulled badly yesterday and now can’t turn my head so day on the sofa for me with a hot water bottle.

I’ve had no symptoms at all really the past few days, after having a fair few last week. Just been sleeping a bit more than normal. Hoping everything is still okay in there - got a scan a week on Saturday when I’ll be 7+1

Doing some random research today on my phone because I’m so bored stuck in the sofa and remembered that someone on here mentioned a sling library, googled to see where one might be as I live in quite a small town so was thinking we might need to go to one of the cities we live near, found out there’s one literally across the road from me, we have the same postcode 😂 what are the chances!! They also do things like baby massage etc which will be lovely if we get that far.

Gilm0reGirl · 24/08/2022 15:38

@AliceinSlumberland ah sorry about your neck! I've done that regularly and it really does hurt and is a pain when you can't move your head.
I am Also lacking in the symptom department the last few days, I know I shouldn't worry but it's just one of those things, I worry in silence lol. That's amazing about the sling library/baby massage/classes. I have been looking for an aqua natal class as I loved it last time it was so good for my joints. But they don't seem to be a thing anymore, closest one is 20 miles away and it's on late, so I'm thinking maybe pregnancy yoga
This time.

AliceinSlumberland · 24/08/2022 15:47

Ah thanks for your sympathy @Gilm0reGirl, honestly it’s very painful and I don’t like doing nothing so it’s frustrating. Craving some ibuprofen, but a sacrifice I’m more than willing to make 😂

How far are you? It’s reassuring that other people have disappearing symptoms too and I know it’s normal, just hard not to worry when I feel totally normal now. To begin with I did feel quite pregnant but perhaps I was just aware of it - I could forget I am now quite easily!!
