@TeddyBeans thanks for the new thread! Does anyone else suffer from sciatica? I had it in my first pregnancy from really early on. 2nd I didn't have it and third it started later. Only 6+4 and already feel it starting to kick in again!. 🙈

Cats23 · 02/08/2022 13:30

Not had sciatica but hope its not too bad for you.

Cats23 · 02/08/2022 13:32

Cats23 · 02/08/2022 13:33

Pressed send too soon!
I'm only 6weeks but has anyone felt their clothing a bit tighter already?
My jeans feel tighter the last 4-5days

TeddyBeans · 02/08/2022 13:43

@Mrs2022 just googled sciatica, I haven't experienced it but it sounds very painful. Is there something you can do/get to help?

@Cats23 I live in elasticated clothes so not feeling it yet but I'm sure when I have to put work clothes back on in September they'll be rather tight!

Rainbowbaby23 · 02/08/2022 14:00

Does the heat make anyone else feel more nauseous🤢

TeddyBeans · 02/08/2022 14:05

Congratulations @mummyofrb it's so nice having a reassuring scan!

@Rainbowbaby23 it's nice and cool here today but yes, the heat doesn't help. Make sure you drink lots!

Thanks for the new thread, anybody else struggling with food? All I seem to be able to stomach is cup a soup and kinder chocolate

LittleAcorn20 · 02/08/2022 14:14

👋 hi new thread.

@ babynum2 hope you hop over and see my reply, I'm really hoping the new meds work well, they've been good for me so far. The weight loss is so not ideal and is a worry isn't it? The only thing I know from last time is it's unlikely to harm baby, as they just take absolutely everything and anything they can get. It's you who suffers 🤦‍♀️ I still feel very averse to food but not sick as such and I kind of think my stomach probably needs to adjust to eating more anyway, it's had so little recently. I'm just glad I can snack.

I'm challenging myself to have a snack every hour on the hour today. This hour is going to be a nap instead of a snack though lol. I've had to take the week off work with the sickness, so just getting aaaaaall the rest in while I can and DD is at nursery 🙏

Rainbowbaby23 · 02/08/2022 14:21

Really don’t want anyone at work to find out but might have to ask one of my midwives at work could they get me prescribed cyclizine (idk how to spell it😂) without letting any other staff know

MarisaJ · 02/08/2022 14:23

@Room4onemore I’m 8+1 and I literally can’t eat anything! I’ve tried to eat veg but that makes me 🤢 I’m just living on mash potatoes and beans on toast currently as they’re the only things that don’t make me sick! I get worried as they’re not very nutritious but it’s all I can stomach. I hope it gets easier!

Mrs2022 · 02/08/2022 14:30

@TeddyBeans it comes and goes,I try to walk about as much as I can to keep moving, seems to be worse at night though. Trying to hold out for booking appointment to see if it eases off if not then they will refer for physio.

@Cats23 feeling it the last week or so and all I ever wear are leggings 😂 hoping it's more a bloat that will settle soon!

Penelope_2023 · 02/08/2022 14:46

Hello Everyone!

I had an early scan and they told me that my little baba was measuring a week ahead of where I had calculated based on LMP! I'm a bit confused as I don't see how it's possible but was wondering whether it just meant the wee bean was growing faster? Not sure whether to be worried or not, has anyone else experienced this at the scan? ❤️

BlondePotter · 02/08/2022 14:48

Thanks for the new thread! Yep, 9 weeks tomorrow and my clothes are tight.... This is my 2nd and my first is 14m so I think I'm going to expand quickly 🙈
Got a reassurance scan on Saturday, and booking appt tomorrow. Midwife is coming to my house and trialling a 'continuity of care' thing where she will aim to be my midwife for birth and after too. For my first I must have had about 8 different midwives

Definitely! I had a few tears at six weeks because I couldn't do up a pair of shorts. Celebrated the ten week mark this weekend but investing in some under the bump maternity jeans as mine were getting uncomfortable and making me feel awful.
It's my first, and I haven't gained much so assuming it just bloat.

My confidence can't wait for a cute little definitely baby bump so I can feel pregnant rather than chunky! Grin

LittleAcorn20 · 02/08/2022 15:30

@BlondePotter the continuity of care is lovely!
They started it with me with my daughter but unfortunately the pandemic hit 2 months before I had my baby and they paused it in favour of getting more midwives back in the hospital's for sickness cover with people isolating!
However they've put me back on it this time and I'm so happy, I'm hoping that this time it really works out right to the end ☺️ Hope your midwife booking appt goes well and reassurance scan too ☺️

I think I had about 8 midwives the first time round too 🤣 was a new one every time I went until about 34 weeks, then she became consistent until I went into the hospital and then it was any Tom, Dick or Harry again 😁 I can't complain though, they all did a wonderful job

When did everyone have there first midwife appointment? :) x

GreenIsle · 02/08/2022 15:53

My first appointment is closer to the 12 weeks mark. We have our scan and booking in appointment at the same time where I'm from (plus blood and urine etc). You don't hear anything before this.

I have booked a private scan for next Tuesday when I am 10 weeks.

10weeks and still haven't heard from a midwife. Have had a letter for my scan.

When I called to chase I was told they get in touch at 10+6. So I suppose I'll hear this week.

I am 7 weeks 1 day and got a call from midwife today, my appointment is on Thursday

3isthemagicnumb3r · 02/08/2022 16:30

Hi ladies. So I went for my private early scan on Saturday and we got quite the shock......
TWINS! Two healthy heartbeats were seen, but they were dated 6+5 when I was 8+1 based off my LMP. Sonographer said I must have ovulated late which makes sense as this pregnancy was a surprise, I'm usually so regular so we were obviously caught out by me ovulating late.
No bloody wonder I feel as sick as a dog! The first thing I said to my husband after gasping was "I TOLD YOU!" I did have a suspicion purely because I feel so so tired and nauseous. A lot worse than I did with my son and daughter.
It's finally sinking in now and we told the kids and our parents as I feel too ill to hide it from them. I'm waiting for my booking in appointment and I'm not sure if I'll get a scan earlier than 12 weeks or just more regular scans after that one. Anybody else got twins?! I'm nervous as I feel like it's twice the anxiety...I just really hope I can carry them both ok xx

TeddyBeans · 02/08/2022 16:31

I had my midwife appointment at 8+6. Scan is at 12+2. I've had a letter through for a telephone obstetrics appointment for 31st October!? Seems very far in advance and I can't think what it would be for 🤔
