Thanks for the new thread.

@13Nikki I'm really sorry for your loss.

@hol92 mine come and go, I think it's perfectly normal for symptoms to do this. I'm hoping mine do ease off a bit soon as this nausea is intense!

ChristmasJumpers · 03/08/2022 08:22

Hi everyone, I was on the last thread but didn't post loads as it was hard to keep up! I'm 5+6 weeks, due 30th March, IVF baby after TTC for 3.5 years.

When did nausea hit for you all? I've been munching ginger biscuits as I feel "weird" when I'm hungry but not really nauseous. All I have so far is fatigue and very sore boobs.

Bee16 · 03/08/2022 09:30

Ladies who've had an early scan - can I pick your brains? I have a private one booked for 6+6 and I'm starting to worry we won't be able to see anything. The place we're going to only do abdominal scans and not internal, plus I've got quite a high BMI (34). Do you think it's likely that we'll see a heartbeat or is it too early?

hol92 · 03/08/2022 09:39

Thank you so much for your reassurance, my nausea is still pretty bad @ChristmasJumpers i am 6 weeks and it sounds like ok pretty much the same as you I can’t eat much and just feel weird.

also can I just ask what vitamins everyone is taking? I’m just having folic acid and vitamin D, am a bit worried as all I seem to be able to eat is toast! And don’t want to be lacking in vitamins at this stage xx

Winniesma · 03/08/2022 09:52

@Bee16 my scan was internal, we saw the heartbeat. I had my early scan with the nhs ivf clinic.

rach971 · 03/08/2022 09:54

@Bee16 I had an abdominal scan on Monday at 6+5 and you could see the heartbeat perfectly 🥰

Eastybaby19 · 03/08/2022 10:16

Hi everyone good to see a new thread. I'm 9+2 and really struggling with nausea & sickness. Also the fatigue is tough when running after a crazy 3 year old I feel so guilty that I'm not doing more with him but I'm so tired and sick today. I also work full time, I do two 12 hour shifts a week as part of my full time hours & today I am exhausted!! 😴

BlondePotter · 03/08/2022 10:45

@Eastybaby19 I feel you, I don't have the energy in the afternoon to play with my 14mo and feel really bad, plus she's been a bit under the weather so more clingy. @hol92 just folic and vit D, also mainly eating carbs, don't worry your baby will steal all the nutrients and just leave you feeling tired 😆

Just had my booking in appt and bloods done, at my house which was so nice. 9+3 according to LMP and should get a scan appt soon. She has said I need 5mg folic as my BMI is 32, but it's same BMI as last time and I just took over the counter stuff, not sure the extra will make much difference for less than 3 weeks but obviously we do as we're told

I feel you. I work for myself but have no childcare this week so trying to potty train 3 year old with morning sickness then working 6-12 in the evenings to catch up on work 🥴

dmb91 · 03/08/2022 11:38

Morning all, praying for twins so I never have to go through pregnancy again 🤢 I'm only 5+6, on anti sickness for the last 10 days and only managed to stomach an ice lolly for breakfast. I didn't think I'd enjoy pregnancy but I didn't think it would be this bad! The bloating and fatigue is out of this world. I have no idea how I'm going to manage to keep quiet until 12 weeks.

Whydotheyallhaverubbishwheels · 03/08/2022 11:53

@Bee16 I had a scan at 7 weeks with my first born, I am overweight and they ended up doing it internally instead. Will they offer you another scan if they can't see anything?

I'm taking pregnacare max - can make you feel a little nauseous on an empty tummy though due to the iron.
I have taken mine after only eating a few bits of toast and been fine though. Even on a particularly sicky day. X

Cats23 · 03/08/2022 13:36

@ChristmasJumpers -I'm due the same day!
I have suffered with HG in all my previous 4x pregnancies. Starts about 7 weeks lasts 10 weeks with me really.
Im dreading next week.
I feel slightly off food but not sick or nauseous yet

ChristmasJumpers · 03/08/2022 14:40

@Cats23 Oh no, I am not looking forward to it, we've got a holiday booked for when I'll be 15 weeks, maybe I've been a bit naïve!

I've had a bit of bleeding today which has completely freaked me out 😩the clinic have just said to keep an eye on it and it does seem to have stopped but I'm so worried. I've started with cramps in my upper back too which I can't understand

mummyofrb · 03/08/2022 17:57

@Bee16 hey I had scan yesterday at 6+5 and could see heartbeat. I think aslong as your bladder is full should be ok! Xx

Babynum2 · 03/08/2022 18:32

We have told all family today as they was all getting suspicious and worried with my sickness plus i really need my mum to help me with my kids at the moment. Felt so good to finally talk about it with someone face to face.

Whydotheyallhaverubbishwheels · 03/08/2022 19:12

@Babynum2 ahh bet that's a relief. I've told about 5 friends / they worked it out. Nice having people to talk to about it.

I feel so sick tonight. Normally my nausea comes and goes but it's hung around all day today and my mouths salivating like I'm going to throw up. It kicked in around now with my first until I was 25 ish weeks, I really hope I'm not as sick this time

Kayleehawkes · 03/08/2022 20:21

I had my scan today measuring 8 days 5days so one day off what I thought ! Feeling super positive seeing the little heartbeat ❤

MattyM5 · 03/08/2022 20:36

Hi ladies, hope you are all doing well and not dying from nausea! 😊
How long did it take you to get your first midwife appointment? I’ve self-referred 3 weeks ago but still haven’t heard anything (St Thomas)…… Nearly 7 weeks pregnant now and feeling totally abandoned, surely by now I must be in their system? (This is my first, so very confused what is normal)

I self referred at 4 weeks and got my appointment through yesterday for tomorrow. I'm 7w3d today.

2019Mama · 03/08/2022 20:51

@MattyM5 I've still not heard anything referred myself on the 10/7.
Had an early scan at epu today at 7+2 and they told me to chase it up with the midwives so going to get onto that tomorrow.

MattyM5 · 03/08/2022 20:57

@hellosunshineagainx that’s re-assuring though gosh they didn’t give you much of a heads up!! 24 hours notice 😂 Are you with St Thomas as well then?

MattyM5 · 03/08/2022 21:00

@2019Mama oh dear it’s not just me then! Exciting about your scan today though, hope it went well? 😊 Fingers crossed you get through to them tomorrow. I spent 20 mins on the phone waiting line today just to be cut off…couldn’t bring myself to call again

LittleAcorn20 · 03/08/2022 22:14

@MattyM5 I had a letter on Friday just gone (was 8+5 then) with my booking appt date. I had self referred about 3 weeks earlier so hopefully you hear soon.
The letter told me my appt was for Tuesday 9th, at the hospital. But I randomly had a midwife turn up to my house today (no prior letter or phone call) telling me she was here to do booking appt. She was as confused as I was when I showed her the letter. Good job I was free and just told her to do it then and there. So I was 9+3 today on my appt date.
It does feel like you're a bit abandoned in these early weeks. But with my experience in first pregnancy and this one it's totally normal to wait this long. Perhaps chase to check they have you on the list if you haven't heard by the end of the week ☺️

Bobduncan · 03/08/2022 22:26

Has anyone else's taste and appetite completely changed? The only foods I'm remotely interested in eating are raw carrots and ice lollies 😅I'm also not managing to finish off a main meal as I just don't have the appetite
