@Akmc I changed hospitals very early on last time, my hospital has a self-referal (which was how I did it) so maybe check that out or see if there's a contact number to ask how it can be done.

My scan went well, few days further along than I thought with EDD 16 Feb. Baby was wiggling so much they had trouble viewing everything at times. Good luck to others getting the scan today.

Ive been given the same due date 💕

Akmc · 09/08/2022 15:05

@Bella9992 thanks, I’ll try that certainly.

georgarina · 09/08/2022 18:15

Hi, can I join please? Due with DC3 on 15 February x

Bella9992 · 09/08/2022 18:17

Ah exciting. Congratulations @blibbyblobb

ViVi1001 · 09/08/2022 18:43

Congratulations to everyone who had scans today, mine went well too 💕 been given a due date of 17 Feb. Baby was very mischievous and moving about so much that the sonographer described it as a technically difficult scan in my notes

PennyLane24 · 09/08/2022 19:08

Hi everyone, I also had my scan today. EDD is 12th Feb :) x

MrsD2021 · 10/08/2022 07:50

Hi everyone. Had a NT scan yesterday so feel much more reassured enough to get involved in the chat! My due date is 20th February and it’s baby #2. We had the bloods taken yesterday for the Harmony NIPT test at the Fetal Medicine Center. For anyone here that’s done the harmony test, how long did it take you to get the results?

Can someone please send me the link for the Facebook group? Thanks!

Cherrymarket · 10/08/2022 08:57

There’s getting a good number of us now 🥰 congratulations everyone!

I am feeling movements throughout the day now which has suddenly made it way more real. It’s lovely to be sat at my desk and feel it wriggling 😍

hope everyone is doing ok and not feeling too sick now everyone is coming out of the first trimester

MrsD2021 · 10/08/2022 13:39

Thats so lovely @Cherrymarket! How many weeks are you now? I think I was around 18-19 weeks when I felt my first baby move. Looking forward to the flutters with this one

LiveLaughL0ve · 10/08/2022 15:17

Hi everyone. It’s been a while since I posted, and I’m yet to do so on this thread, so I just wanted to check in and say hi. I hope you’re all coping well in the heat and starting to come out of the first trimester haze of fatigue and nausea. I feel that I’m just about there now myself after what feels like a very long slog!
I’ve had my 12 week scan - soo lovely seeing the baby again, and wriggling around too. I’m 15+4 now (due date moved forward to 28 Jan) and we told my family last week. I wanted to wait until we met up to tell them in person. Once I’d announced it they said they guessed right away as my boobs are bigger! 😂😂 I’m obviously not hiding it as well as I thought so I’m embracing my new curves now and have a good sized bump already, which I love! 😊
We also did the Harmony Test and found out that we’re having a boy. 💙 The results came through in one week.
We’re sharing the news with my DP’s DS this weekend. He’s going to be beyond excited to be a big brother. 🥰
Good luck to those who have their scans coming up. x

Racheyg88 · 10/08/2022 19:09

Hi everyone, so I am pregnant with my 3rd child and I went for my first scan last week believing I was around 12 weeks based on my last period and was told by the sonographer that they couldn’t find a baby so after emptying my bladder and going back in with another lady there I had an internal scan where she was moving it about and taking measurements and explained and showed me that there is 2 gestation sacs one is empty and the other one is a lot smaller than the other with a tiny fetal hole in there and suggested that the small sac could be blood from the other sac or an early intrauterine twin pregnancy. I have to go back for another scan next Monday and I really don’t know what to expect I feel like I have to prepare for the worse but at the same time I’m trying to hold some hope out! Has anyone ever had this before?

botbump · 11/08/2022 08:47

Morning all,
Random question to seek some reassurance that I'm not alone in this really!
Almost 12 weeks with my first so it's all new to me.

The past week or so, I've been experiencing an odd ache in the top of my bum muscles.
I first noticed it after a long walk - feels a bit like post leg day at the gym, so I assumed I'd just overdone it. However, it's now a pretty constant ache and is wrapping around my hips a little.
It aches when I sit, stand, kneel...whatever. It's not painful, just awareness really, though does get uncomfortable sometimes for no apparent reason.
The muscles do seem to fatigue easily - again, similar to the day after a good gym session, if I run upstairs I'm definitely more aware and need a sit down at the top!

Anybody?

Thanks in advance! X

PeanutButterFalcon · 11/08/2022 09:16

@botbump Cant say I’ve experienced it there but I do get a lot of aching in my back. Everything is on the move so I’ve been putting it down to that.
have you had your scan yet? Might be worth mentioning it.

nearly 16 weeks and still being sick, struggling to stay hydrated in this heat. Anyone found anything that works for them?

also think I need some maternity work clothes soon if anyone has any recommendations

Thanks for responding.
I've had an early scan privately and all was well. NHS one is a week today so will mention it.
Was going to mention it to the midwife (booking appointment the week after) to see if there are any exercises I could be doing to relieve it.

Hydration wise, I oddly found that drinking squash helps, or a can of Diet Coke before pints of water. I don't usually drink either, but it seems to work. I make the squash pretty weak though as the strong flavour can set of my nausea.

Clothing wise, I'm currently living in these: www.asos.com/prd/23833152?acquisitionsource=pasteboard

Bought my usual size and they fit like a dream but give me the extra space I need. I've been pretty bloated since about week 6/7 but sure they'd accommodate a little bump just as well.

PeanutButterFalcon · 11/08/2022 09:50

@botbump strangely coke seems to be all I can tolerate too. Im trying weak squash now. I never drank coke before getting pregnant.

I hope it eases up for you. I can remember being so uncomfortable with DD at the beginning of my pregnancy.

they look lovely thank you. I’m not supposed to wear jeans at work but might be able to get away with these. I wore scrubs with my first so never really thought about what to wear.

Fingers crossed it helps!

Thank you!

Ahh, they're a really fine 'weave' so it's not super obvious they're jeans. I've been wearing them with longer blouses to cover the pockets etc and look smart enough for work.
ASOS do have a good range of straight/peg leg trousers in their maternity too. Worth a scroll one evening - I have lots favourited for when I'm bigger already!

I am 16 weeks, but I felt movements early with my first too.it’s not regular just little flutters every so often!

I am also becoming a Coke fiend although I do limit myself! Weak squash is tolerable but mainly just I’ve cold water is all I want.

Cherrymarket · 11/08/2022 10:24

Ice **

Akmc · 11/08/2022 11:49

@Racheyg88 hope you’re holding up ok, I’ve no experience, but can imagine you’re quite stressed in the lead up to the subsequent scan, I wish you well. Did the sonagrapher give you any likelihoods on either outcome? Sometimes they load us up with “could be” scenarios without giving an idea of most to least likely, which could help focus the mind and set expectations. I do hope it’s positive news for you next week, and I’m sure someone on this thread will know of similar situations. Best of luck. 👊

PeanutButterFalcon · 11/08/2022 15:12

@Cherrymarket ive been trying not to give in but I can’t stomach anything else! Haven’t tried ice cold water in some time so maybe it’ll work.

@Racheyg88 my first was a twin pregnancy where one baby unfortunately did not grow. I had lots of bleeding however and lots of scans.
Hope you get some answers on Monday

Racheyg88 · 11/08/2022 15:49

@Akmc thank you for your kind words, it has been some week so far ups and downs thinking of the worst and also holding on to some hope! I’m just not sure what has happened for sure! The sonagrapher said it’s more than likely that it won’t have developed and will probably be a bleed it just doesn’t make sense though! Thank you I will keep you all updated, praying for positive news 🙏🏻

Racheyg88 · 11/08/2022 15:51

@PeanutButterFalcon aww was it I never even thought of twins never mind going and telling me there was no baby and then to learn there are 2 gestational sacs it’s just mind boggling but fingers it is that case and the other one has developed! Thank you so do I, I will keep you updated 🙏🏻

Daisychainsx · 12/08/2022 13:24

Hey everyone! I'm rejoining after previously being on this thread under a different username, but then deleting my account because I was driving myself mad reading first trimester horror stories on here. I'm now 13 weeks exactly and have my (so called) 12 week scan in 5 days! It feels very surreal!😍
I had a pretty tiny tummy before being pregnant and I'm now HUGE! I look about 5 months already 🙈 but I kinda love it!
Hope you're all keeping well!

SJ1994 · 12/08/2022 14:36

Hi everyone! I’m 12 weeks today (I think!) and have my dating scan on Tuesday afternoon, feeling increasingly anxious as it gets closer! I had a scan at 9 weeks, then again at 11 weeks after a minor scare but all was great so hoping it still is! My symptoms have really reduced this week, however I know that can happen around this time anyway! I’m very petite and I have a big round belly already though! 😂

hope everyone’s well!
